Yeah, that was some bad luck. Apparantly his entire derailleur broke off.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Well, van der Poel is back.
Could've won yesterday already. Today there was no stopping him.

Boom is probably going to ride the Worlds, if he qualifies and even if he doesn't qualify Lammerts is probably selection him anyway

Van Aert with another perfect weekend.
Unstoppable today. Van der Poel really crashed and burned today. Was good but suddenly had to slow down and finished outside top 10 I think. Quite an off-day. |

Oh what a race in Namur! VDP wins just ahead of Van Aert.
And Van Aert's worst result this season: 2nd. Jesus |

Amazing last lap in Namur, where vdPoel and van Aert battled to the very end.
I'm happy to see a different winner for once. The last few races were a bit boring.

Very happy that VDP took the win today, VDP vs WVA will be the set-up for ages. Thankfully both are also very entertaining riders as they have proved today, never buckle down, always take on the challenge. Outstanding course too, the climbs are pure cycling pain. Dangerous descents too. Citadelle is so impressive.
Gif from VDP comeback(?) race I believe a few weeks ago. That skill!

I think both will win until the end of the season, only the titles matter now. Van Aert easily controles all classifications, so it's just the national championships and the worlds. Van Aert is yet to win a title, and there's always something special about the Belgian national championship (as why Vantornout won twice and Albert only once). In Holland, Van der Haar is a real championship rider, so he can suprise VDP, and who knows what Boom does.
For the worlds, I think it's up to Nys to start talking about a Belgian alliance. He's the oldest and everyone will listen to him. We didn't win two years in a row now, this has got to stop. Everyone against VDP!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Yes that was in Koksijde. But not even the most impressive move he made that day. This one he was the only rider able to ride up this hill. He did it multiple times always gaining 5 secs on the others. At around minute 15.

For Flemish/Dutch speaking people only I'm afraid, but it's a talkshow with Nys, Albert, Wuyts and Herygers. They make a very nice comparison between Van Aert and Van der Poel in there.

I don't think it is even possible to watch the video outside of Belgium. At least that's the case for some of the Sporza videos, I could be wrong though. |

That's the case for 99% of them sadly, can confirm, am unable to watch CycloCross through their websites. I recall watching some interviews successfully though but I could be mixing it up with some other site.

Use procyclinglive to find alternative streams really, Hola seems a bit dodgy to me..

I always delete it immediately after I've used it and reinstall when I need it (don't use it that often). That way I avoid any of those problems mentioned in the article.

Another win for MvdP, though he claimed LvdH was the strongest today. Unfortunately Lars got a puncture on a very bad moment and had to let the others go. Pauwels hung on for a long time, but couldn't keep up with Mathieu in the last lap.
Wout Van Aert was nowhere today after being ill last week. First race this season where he isn't 1st or 2nd.
1 | | Mathieu van der Poel | BKCP - Corendon | 1h09'03" | 2 | | Kevin Pauwels | Sunweb - Napoleon Games | 02" | 3 | | Lars van der Haar | Giant - Alpecin | 46" | 4 | | Tom Meeusen | Telenet - Fidea | 01'10" | 5 | | Klaas Vantornout | Sunweb - Napoleon Games | 01'11" | 6 | | Clément Venturini | Cofidis | 01'17" | 7 | | Tim Merlier | Vastgoedservice - Golden Palace | 01'20" | 8 | | Wout Van Aert | Vastgoedservice - Golden Palace | 01'20" | 9 | | Corné van Kessel | Telenet - Fidea | 01'20" | 10 | | Sven Nys | Crelan - AA Drink | 01'21" |
The race was in Zolder, which is where the upcoming World Championships will be held. I thought the course was a bit boring. I hope some snow or rain will spice things up for the World Championships.
Oh and Lars Boom also participated but obviously is far from his best shape, finishing only 43th. Like Van Aert he has been ill and he had back pains during the race. |

Van Der Poel rode away when Van der Haar had a flat tire.
Apparently, Van der Haar had a flat and when he saw Van Der Poel passed him, he said: go on.
And then tried to give VDP as big a gap as possible so that Pauwels wouldn't win but VDP, because he knew his race was over and he prefers a fellow countryman.
Awesome little move by Van der Haar, very nice of him |
