I'd lie when I'd say that your team is good but i think it improved at least. The allround abilities (MO/HI/TT) of Koep might give you some nice GC results if planned good and De Maar (Awesome transfer!) should bring you quite a few great results when you expect it the least!
And Ostergaard isn't chanceless on the cobbles either.
De Maar + a then maxed Garby + Ostergaard can be a great foundation for a 2016 promotion campaign. Especially if you can replace some of your weaker riders with new riders!
You just have to wait this one year ...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. And maybe the other cobbles guys will promote and Ostergaard will be good again.
And next year is going to be Spring Cleaning. Only a select few riders will make it out of renewals with more than 50k, if they even do. I'm planning to really go for it in 2016

I'll be cheering for you in GP Herning as my only haf decent cobbler is riding for Evonik
Was very surprised that you didn't chase more of the Danes left over by B&O folding. Could have gotten you a lot more depth...

I really wanted to. I did chase a few, but I could only free up cap room in chunks, and most of those guys were going for over 100k. I bid on Morkov and Steesen, and was looking into Sobota before he got driven up really fast. One by one, I could get them anymore. I was about to bid on Troels Vinther when Viking did, and I couldn't afford anything over 50k. Then I lost Jorgensen too. I was really tied up between Kim Marius Nielsen and going after Kristoffer Nielsen for cobbled depth, but in the end it doesn't really matter.

Marc De Maar Wins Benelux Challenge!
In only their second race of the season, Carlsberg have taken home the team's first full race win at the Benelux Challenge.
In his first race as a member of Carlsberg - Danske Bank, Marc De Maar took home the victory. In the first 3 stages, he lurked in the shadows, putting in two top twenties and a top 5 on stage two.
On the cobbled stage 4, De Maar was a favorite. A breakaway went away, and Verhelst of Liese took the win. Christopher Stevenson held on for 3rd, and De Maar finished 6th, only losing time to Sebastian Langeveld.
But De Maar made his difference on stage 5, the final hilly stage of the race. He sat int he wings, working to catch breakaway riders with Vastaranta's De Laval team.
When several favorite were able to get away, De Maar put in a dig with Vastaranta on his wheel, establishing an elite group.
But he wasn't done. In sight of the 1 km banner, with breakaway riders still ahead, he acceelerated away. Only Molard could follow.
He caught the breakaway riders with ease, and just kept going! And he was establishing a gap back to the other favorites.
And he was just too powerful for Molard and the rest! He clinched the team's first ever successful goal for his stage win, and a day later, clinched the overall victory in his Curocao champions jersey.
Team manager baseballlover312 stated, " We are ecstatic about what we have accomplished already so early in the season, and are very impressed with Marc De Maar's accomplishments. He has come into our team from Quickstep and immediately made a difference with both his ability and team chemistry. Our first race win is a huge motivation booster ahead of the season for us."
The team's next race is the Tour of the Middle East, where Thomas Koep will make his season debut for GC, and Alex Rasmussen will attempt to replicate his success of last year.

Huge congrats. Was really a nice race to report and I liked that the best allrounder was taking it in the end.
Now let`s hope Koep is performing well in Middle East. Not too sure about the amount of hilly stages there. The longer climbs should suit him more and in especially the long time trial obviously. A top10 would really be cool. But not knowing, what stage racers and climbers take part. So no idea if this is possible. |

@Roturn: Thanks! I'm hoping Koep has what it takes to be up there in Middle East. In terms of hills, it's most big mountains and pan flat stages if I remember correctly, so we'll see!
@Shonak: Thanks man. It was a very good battle. Langeveld put in a great ride and I too look forward to more match ups throughout the season!

Wengelin Takes Cauberg Classic
On a day that seemed to be destined for the best puncheurs in the world to duke it out, Matthias Wengelin defied the predictions to take the win for Carlsberg!
Wengelin managed to get into the breakaway of the day, and whent he race heated up behind, he asserted himself as the strongest.
Others tried to chase him, but he held out in front resiliently, alone.
And despite the rush from the peloton he was able to win the day, a terrific win for the Swede and Carlsberg! Meanwhile, Marc De Maar capped off a great day for the team with 8th place.
Team manager baseballlover312 stated, "It's so great to come back to racing with a very unexpected win, especially after the troubles Thomas had with crashes and form in the last couple of races. Matthias knows his body and his ability, and knew he was a bit lucky to survive the cuts this year. He's responded with a lot of great attacking and today it really pad off. He might have earned himself a contract for next year today. Marc also put in a great ride today, to make us take some great morale and points from a race we didn't expect success"
Carlsberg - Danske Bank continue their season next with the Tour de Langkawi and Tour de Azerbaijan, where they hope to continue to exceed expectations.

Sometimes people are just really fricking awesome. This would be the terminology used to accurately describe Marc De Maar.
The veteran from Curacao is simply too amazing. Following his transfer in the Continental Tour from former PCT outfit Quickstep, he has propelled to 3rd in the overall individual standings in the CT, and has perhaps propelled Carlsberg's team classification a full 10 places.
Carlsberg have slowed down as the season progressed, with Ostergaard only managing 4th in win goal GP Herning, and some other races being useless race days. Razzie has gotten some consistent places, but there's only so much he can do.
But De Maar remains strong. His off days are not quite as off, and his good days are insanely good considering the amount of ability a scout could see in him from the outside.
Every race he's expected to do something he does it, and half the races he isn't given a though, he also does it.
Today , the Tour de Slovenie was no exception. De Maar, with nearly no team support whatsoever, defied odds and broke boundaries. He just keeps doing it.
So from all of us here at Carlsberg - Danske Bank, e would like to thank Alakagom and Quickstep for the wonderful gift they gave us last transfer season.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Good news came as the results waned towards the end of this 2015 season. Despite two consecutive poor seasons, both title sponsors, Carlsberg and Danske Banke, have decided to continue sponsorship next season.
In a joint press conference, both sponsors showed their support for the direction the team is going, while also stating that if the team doesn't secure significantly better results and fight for promotion next year, they will cease their investment.
Minor sponsors have also renewed, and it seems Carlsberg may have a bit larger budget going into next season.
Team manager baseballlover312 had this to say, "This news fills us with great joy and satisfactions as we go into what should be an exciting offseason. We've had these sponsors here from the beginning, and despite not holding up our end of the bargain twice, they still have faith in us. That being said, we have big aspirations next year that are at the front of our minds. We made progress this year but faltered. We know now that we need to be much more aggressive in the transfer market if we are going to build the team we truly want to. And that's going to mean some tough decisions on how to clear space for that."
Carlsberg - Danske Bank have 5 races left, the NC's and the WC's before the Offseason begins proper.

Carlsberg - Danske Bank - Season Wrap Up 2015
The 2015 regular season calendar has been completed, and thus so has the year for Carlsberg - Danske Bank. Only the WC's and NC's remain.
And they did it in style. Marc De Maar finished the last race in style, winning it from a reduced bunch sprint in Zuri - Mezigete. The performance, and his overachieving performances throughout the season, rose him to 4th place for the CT individual rankings this season, with 479 points. The only other Carlsberg rider in the top 50 was Rasmussen in 36th.
in the end he had nearly half of the teams total points, and by doing it, he propelled us to 12th place in the overall CT standings.

That's a top half finish! Far more than what was expected, and with 9 teams and possibly more promoting, we almost made it to promotion level, far more than we expected at the end of the last transfer season.
That leaves us with the final palmares in regular races for Carlsberg for this season.T hey have been regularly updated int he first post, but as people are unlikely to look there, here they are. There really is no method for how I choose results, it's just based on how important they are to me.

Failure in NC's and Renewal Previews
It's a hard end of the season for Carlsberg - Danske Bank. The Danish National Championships, both jerseys previously held by Carlsberg riders, have left the only Danish team on the circuit. The races did not unfold in Carlsberg's favor, and the parcours made it nearly impossible to win straight away. With their high proportion of Danish riders, this was likely their only NC chance of the year, besides Marc De Maar, who wins Curcacao by default.
That being said, it makes some renewals a bit easier this year, as if a Carlsberg domestique won the NC, he would certainly be back for next season. Instead, this is the shakeup heading into renewals.

Anyone not in the first two sections, and to some extent the second section, who are renewed, are available for talks of transfer. It is time to clean house.
In addition, Asbjorn Kragh Andersen needs a PCT or PT loan. Christian Ranneries needs a PT one as well, but somehow that seems unlikely.
We would also like to thank Thomas Koep and Hiroshi Tsubaki for spending the season with Carlsberg - Danske Bank, as they will be leaving following the expiration of their loan agreement.
