To me it sounds like the contract starts at January 1st, but nobody really considered how to pay everything in between October and December. |

Obviously I don't know the details, but it's no secret that Cult recently had to put down extra money for wages etc. as the team unexpectedly had run out of money. That could perhaps indicate that Cult are close to the truth than Stölting.
Anyway it's sad to see this happening to Skeldes team two years in a row. They have shown in the past that they are great at managing a team given the peace to focus on exactly that.
I'm tending to believe Stölting in this saga, Cult had issues this paying riders as well as some other problems on the admin side so if a poorly drawn sponsorship contract was written up and Cult was meant to fronting up the cash right now and have backed out it wouldn't be a surprise at all.

Future of the team unknown and uncertain. Cult informed Stölting about 3 hours ago.
Really hope something miraculous comes along and saves the team... Ideal moment for Bjarne Riis
I'd rather see the team fold than have Riis back, the guy should never be allowed near a team again

What is this new trend?
Ettix Quickstep with an Estonian National Jersey and now also Sky?
Really wonder if those two look more like the NC jersey as the Cofidis one for Gert Jõeäär. |

To be fair Cult (company) have paid a good amount more than originally promised ahead of the season already. The team got screwed over by the Luxembourg partner Christian Weyland ahead of this season after which Cult stepped up and increased the promised sponsorship. Weyland has promised the management that he could deliver a co-sponsor to put down about teh same amount of money as Cult.
There's a difference between running things badly and trusting someone, who turns out to be a con-man.
When the deal with Stölting was announced they also said that this deal was the reason the team didn't fold already in September. That does indicate that there was an expectation that it would be brought together as soon as the regular season ended. At least that have been how I've understood it based on their communication before and after the fusion.
The stuff that was said at that time is IMO generally more in line with what is said from Cult. Especially since they already had taken over the license at the time of the press conference.
The truth probably lies somewhere between the two. I have no doubt that Cult feared this could turn into another "Weyland" after they felt promises were broken. How much of the details are on paper isn't anything any of us can say without having the contracts in front of us. Could be a question of one party relying on a gentlemans agreement and the other sticking strictly to what's on paper.

Bruyneel trolling Vaughters:
Then questions his sexuality.

Apparently Boeckmans' situation was even worse than we heard in the media. He almost died six times.
He's been lucky. Or unlucky, depending on how you look at it.
Comeback scheduled for May, but could still change if he recovers faster/slower. |

Maybe there isn't enough trash talk in cycling but do we need it from Bruyneel? Can't he just crawl back under the rock he's been hiding under and leave cycling alone

Wellens will be riding Giro, no Tour.
Though for some reason the team believes him to be a future stage racer.
I agree that he could do well in some one-week races, potentially. But please don't try to make a GT rider out of Tim Wellens |

Indeed ..now it looks already funny.
About german cycling sponsors..damn they are fools. How you can ignore such big sport as cycling is..it is almost 10 years christ sake.
What they are thinking that football..biathlon..athletics are clean?
Stupid..stupid..
Cycling really needs Germany back in this game..with strong pro team and sponsors. |

Bye bye Oleg, you won't be missed.
“But if nobody else cares about the future of the sport, then why should I care? F*ck all of them! That’s my personal reason why I want to leave professional cycling. From January 2017, I’m gone. I’m out of cycling. I’ll jump on my jet, fly home and focus on my business interests and enjoying my life. Everyone who is left in cycling will be the ones who will be in the shit. They will have to try to survive year by year, trying to convince sponsors to back a sport that isn’t sustainable.”
Someone's pissed.

well everyone knows I am not he's fan.. this peace of writing shows he's nature. Spoiled kid with bad language..and terrible additude. Everything is possible..you do not have to act like bandit and insult everyone around you. You should not throw around ultimatums after every incident. Teams has balls to stop UCI stupid ideas even without him.
Only moment I liked him was at this summer when replayed to De Jeux Marc Madiot stupid act..that cycling belongs to french , and when Marc was insulted when he got english letter from Uci..etc. |

It's the same old 'Tour de France bug' where any highly rated rider both young or older who does well in a week long tour, either ends up believing or gets pushed by his team into believing, that he can become a grand tour rider.
Just think Thomas and D.Martin two riders who believe that they can podium in a GT. They'd be better off concentrating on what they do best and that is classics and week long tours. |
