Some nice points made, but I think overall the game doesn't need to be changed much at all because it's a lot of fun and already quite detailed. Either way it seems like Bikex has it all under control with some of the issues already set to be improved on by next season.

Though, only, I would request we start the race routes discussion for the following season at around the time the TDF is going on.

^ This.

The calendar should always be finished before we go into transfers.

As for a deadline for this and the planning, I'd suggest Tuesday night/ wednesday morning.

I wont be able to meet this deadline, i have to make it in the weekend.

As Bikex said, if you can't make it, just send him the january/february startlists Smile
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

SSJ2Luigi
So e.g. sending in two mountainous stage races and a mountain classic won't work.

RIP me with my team which best non-mountain specialist stat is 73 :'(

Helped a friend moving today so am very done atm the moment and probably won't answer all PMs today anymore.
But please try to send at least January and February startlists by tomorrow, then the season could start still this week. Wink

Don't think I'm going to get the full startlists done in time, but should be able to get the first ones in. Doesn't help that they're three of the least important races all year Pfft

I am halfway through the planning. Counted to finish it yesterday but had some issues with the new monitor... Should get it done today though.

For every focus race this formula determined the value added to the budget:

Just to be sure, from what you wrote in the examples shouldn't it be more like
((points/total)/(1/#teams)-1)*(RV+1)*50 ?

A bit late maybe but a thought about the CT.1 vs. CT.2 discussion:
Lowering the CT.2 eligibility limit sounds like a good idea, those races should be rarely won by WT teams. However I don't think this would solve the problem that CT teams mostly go for CT.2 races. I'd say that the ranking points difference between CT.1 and CT.2 races should be raised a bit next season. Right now you can earn only a few more points going for CT.1 races but have to face a much harder competition.

Look forward to see the all race plans revealed.
Won't say much about my plan till then, only that with the addition of Henao Ecopetrol is going to quite a few races with two leaders.
It takes a lot of courage to let the PCM AI control your teams fate. Wink

Nice to see the season starting soon, that offseason had a really good and steady pace.

@The Rider/knockout: It's probably right to start the calendar planning earlier, but I can in no case have the calendar finished before at least signups are done, as the number of racedays heavily depends on the number of teams. Also this year I did add some races, due to what teams signed up, e.g. Christchurch - Akaroa or how a team did in transfers, like Circulo Juárez. I already wanted to add a sprinters stage race, but only decided for a Mexican, because Taco Bell, a Mexican focused team, signed by far the best CT sprinter.

@SSJ2Luigi: You can also choose a hilly race besides mountainous races. You got some riders with a decent HI stat.

@Cyclothron: You are of course right about the formula. Embarassed
It's a good idea to lower ranking points for CT.2 races, I'll keep that in mind for next season. Then we should definitely do discussions about stuff like that, before it can't be changed anymore. Pfft

Well, the WT calendar can and should completely be finished before renewals and can be finished as soon as we know which ct teams promoted.
The CT calendar can be done a bit later but I'd think the majority of races should be announced before transfers. It's no problem if there are unlocated races in there like "unlocated five day stage race with 4 flat stages and one TT" . Depending on transfers one could assign these races to countries as it fits.

I disagree actually, in real life most routes aren't know that long in advance either. I like the concept where you have to adapt your strategy to the race routes, as not everything should be 100% planned. In my opinion, having everything plannable would make the game more boring.

I am however in favour of announcing any major changes beforehand, like the additional of a TT stage race this year. But if the Tour has cobbles or not, how many sprinter stages the Giro has, etc., I think we should just deal with whatever is thrown at us and adapt our startlists accordingly.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Total race days needed to send full teams to each race = 275.
Total race days available to TVM Cycling Team = 283.

Love the way how that worked out, Bekker gets 8 days rest but everyone else has a full season ahead Grin

Bikex
Almost all startlists in. I might leave tonight to go skiing for a few days but in that case I'll take my laptop with me so that racing can start tomorrow.

I updated the Archive File to also include a column that shows what were the best achievements of a rider/team. It's not perfect but at least it somehow can filter out the top results. Link is still the same: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5za7rhq0503....xlsx?dl=0

Also I made with the help of the Archive file a StatsFile, which so far only includes stats like Victory rankings, # of participations on GTs and monuments, but is already quite interesting. In the future I probably will also add statistics for other WT races or the CT. Link is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rna87qgnvxg....xlsx?dl=0

Awesome!

Peter Sagan clearly the King of monuments. Cool

I love that Hansen is the only rider so far to ride 3 GTs in a year but I know that at least one other will join him there.

Next statistic that would be interesting would be GT stage winner. Although better wait a year before we look at that Pfft

I was wondering if I could get someone to do 3. Turns out I couldn't! Note to self: get 1 more than the min num. of riders for next season.

That's something to look forward to, Bikex. Though as we start with the Palm Classic, not so much for me!

Nibali

Pardilla and Goos with two stage wins each? LMAO.

Kittel has great statistics for someone who only participated in GTs in one of the seasons Cool
