I would put Lindeman at 72 mtn because at 69 mtn he´s not winning any mtn stage and also despite saying that Kiryenka was a 79TT previously, I´ve seen a problem with this. His prologue is poor compared to the other big TT riders which means in a long TT he will lose some time at the start of the TT, which will be hard for him to make up later. The solution is either tio up his TT to 80 or keep him at 79 and up his prologue.
I think it´s very hard to judge Lindeman...I can see your point, but he would be as good as the strongest CT-climbers...really don´t know how to judge him. He won the Vuelta stage because he had more left in the tank than the others, I doubt he was the strongest climber of the breakaway...71 could be right though
WIth Kiriyenka you have a point there also, maybe 80 would fit better looking at his results this year. But I don´t feel good making him better than Malori...
I think half the fórum want Dumoulin at 77 and the other half at 78 mtn. At 78 mtn with his good hill and TT skills he´s an outside GC contender, but at 77 mtn he´s no better than a rider looking for a top 10 position.
Lindeman is hard but at 71 or 72 if he´s in a mtn breakaway he´s still likely to be in the company of better climbers, at at least with 71 or 72 mtn with good daily form he could win the stage, any less tan this I don´t think so.
As Manx and Matt have more or less said for a TT, the prologue stat which I said is used. Means that hin a long TT of 50 kms, for the first 18 kms riders like Dennis and Malori have a far better prologue stat than Kiryenka who only has 76 which means in just 18km they can take quite a lot of time out of him. Once 18 km is covered if Kiryenka has 79 TT he´s not going to recupérate the lost time as these riders also have 79 TT as well, which is why Kiryenka should be raided to 80 or at least have his prologue improved.
Dumoulin needs 78MON and Lindeman probably 72
That is what I´ve been saying |

In my opinion, Dumoulin should be 77 in mountain and 79 in hills.he's much better climbing a short explosive mountain than a long and constant 7% mountain. I would give lindeman a 70 in MT, and Purito should definitely be 80. He lost La Vuelta in the time trial. Chavez 79 hill as well.
Kyrienka upgrded to 80 to balance his low PRL stat. |

I know there is a reluctance to give Bialoblocki a high TT but once again he´s put in a great TT at the Chrono des Nations, I think he´s worth at least 77TT.
I´m surprised there hasn´t been a mention of him going to a better team, as most teams with GC aspirations like having TT men in their squads. |

Hey everyone, thought I’d get off the update I said I’d post a while back, so here’s a couple of upstanding riders I found that weren’t in the db that had some somewhat notable results in my book (referencing Croatia’s cdb.file, which thanks again for uploading
Jos Koop: Dutch rider for CCN cycling team based out of Laos. Is 27 yrs old and born August 16th 1988 for a bit of background info. No clue on which region of Holland, sorry.
Noteworthy Results:
2 top 10’s @ Tour of China I (Against sprinters such as Mattia Gavazzi, Daniele Colli, Nicolas Marini, and Siarhei Papok for some comparable riders).
4 top 10’s w/ 1 podium @ Tour of China II against most of the same sprinters from Tour of China I and then maybe Martin Weiss and Boris Shpilevsky (Remember back when he was on AG2R?)
Decent results in NE class Dutch Crits across March to August (Is there some sort of National Criterium series in Holland? I’d assume so.)
What the hell does this tell me?:
This tells me he is a pure sprinter who isn’t amazing versatile over multiple types of terrain. He also likely peaked or was in excellent form for these races. So, I’d give him stats like these.
FL-MO-DO-CO-TT-PR-SP-ACC-END-RES-REC-HIL-FTR
67-56-66-57-56-58-69-70-63-63-65-63-62
Why these stats exactly?:
He showed that he could sprint on stages that were either flat or otherwise relatively flat.
On the only stage I could find which had any bigger climbs than speed bumps (Stage 5 of Tour of China I), he finished 20 minutes down in a sprinters gruppetto. He showed well over multiple day stage races so his recovering ability is rather decent. Nothing more I could say.
Next rider who showed well to me lately is Lithuanian Tomas Vaitkus (Former WT rider for RadioShack, Astana, and Orica). He is 33 yrs old, born on the 4th of February racing for Baltic Continental team Rietumu – Delfin.
Noteworthy Results: (In Latest to Earliest order)
4th in the 2nd stage @ Tour of Hainan against a rather good field of out of form and decent form sprinters: Andrea Palini, Sacha Modolo, Grosu, Ferrari, Giraud, Silvestre, to name a few)
3 top 10’s @ Tour of China II
3 top 10’s @ Tour of China I w/ a 2nd place on stage 3
2 top 10’s @ Baltic Chain Tour in only his 4th race back into competitive racing.
9th at Lithuania’s NC in his 1st race back after a year and ½ of not racing and against a rather decent field as well (Navardaskas, Aidis Kruopis, and other decent continental sprinters.)
What the hell does this tell me?:
This tells me that for one, he is still a very reliable sprinter after having left the racing scene for a bit. However, he isn’t at his old WT level as before; rather that his role could be of a decent leadout man or domestique. He is likely in very good if not peaking form for the these Chinese races. He’s also lost a bit of his TT and prologue ability, and hasn’t magically turned in a great climber. So, I’d give Vaitkus these stats.
FL-MO-DO-CO-TT-PR-SP-ACC-END-RES-REC-HIL-FTR
67-56-65-59-62-65-70-70-65-64-64-65-66
Why these stats exactly?:
He has consistently shown that he still has a rather good sprint kick for a CT-level rider. He has lost a bit of his climbing legs and northern classics hard-man abilities; The Tour of China climbing stage I referenced before saw Vaitkus finish 55th, 13’02’’ down on the winner. I’d say his stat for hills could go lower, but he was with equal level climbers in the group. He still does half-decent over multi-day stage races so his REC stat shouldn’t be in question.
I'm breaking this up into multiple segments so I don't wind up writing even larger walls of text so I'll likely get the next one off in a few days or sooner if possible. If you've got some riders in mind on the continental scene I should look at give me a heads up and I'll take a look. Thanks for bearing with another large wall of text everyone. |

That's a tad high in my opinion, it would make him equal to some other sprinters who have similar results in bigger races. 73/73 with decent potential should do.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Community Notice
For those that don't know and with Jesley stepping down, I'm the guy that is now doing the PCM Daily rider stats and I'm currently updating them for all the riders for the 2016 season.
Hopefully I want to make this thread community interactive as possible, where everybody that posts seriously in this thread about riders, will have their opinions taken on board and I'll consider all those opinions when updating stats.
A very young rider like Mareczko is always hard to do and like Gaviria who gained some big scalps at the beginning and end of 2015 when the faster sprinters were either finding their form in January or tired after a long season in September, it's easy to overrate them. Clearly both are dominant sprinters at CT and PT level and it's a case of getting the right balance for them if they race against other top WT sprinters.

Well, he's actually going to be very similar to these stats but with low secondary stats. |

And a very good luck to you mate.
One huge work, and hope you get it right (or at least close)

Thanks guys and yes it's actually is a huge job when you have a whole db to go through for the first time, deciding on what to change and what to leave. I now realise what a long job this must've been for Jesley, but it is fun to do and glad to be doing it.
As for Kelderman I think his stats are pretty much spot on now and have done all the WT stats and am about halfway through the PT ones.
When everything is finished, a final check will be done on everybody to make sure that nobody is too high or too low and keeping within the existing matrix, impossible though to get everything right as the stats don't always mirror real life as most of you already know. |

Here's an error I 'accidentally' found. Marco Minnaard (Wanty) has only 58MO in the DB. A 21st place in Österreich and 28th place in Tour de Suisse prove to me he deserves quite a tad higher, somewhere in the range 66-68 I think. Would also raise his hill a bit 69-70 after a few good KoMs in Bayern and Sarthe, and a decent GC in Tour des Fjords.

I haven't got to Wanty yet but I remember on another PT team that there was a climber with a really low mtn stat that should've been at least 10 pts higher and I guess Minnaard is another one of these riders that may have got overlooked before.
Thanks for the mention and will make these kind of adjustments. |

Hey Tafiolmo, have you thought about perhaps updating the Elite-2 riders in the DB? I get that you might have a lot on your plate DB wise, but some change in that aspect might be nice for the EP for 2016. I've done a "quick" search in that aspect, and it seems there are around 100 or so riders that are no longer active riders (Haven't raced even in amateur races in 2-3 years or so). Perhaps adding some obscure pros from smaller countries and top amateur riders from bigger countries could be possible, although getting reliable info on the riders could be a tall task. It's a smaller detail, and I remember a EP a year ago went thru and updated the elite-2 riders, but it would be nice to see another update in that respect. |
