You can download Zwift even without having all the setup, and just watch others going along - would show you if it works on your PC or not.
I brought a similar cheapy ANT+ sensor, the douself one on Amazon.
Managed to give it a go, thanks. Looks like they have totally phased out support for my ancient 32 bit machinery. Downloaded the client but it won't even let me open it without a 64 bit operating system
Back to the "free" options via Strava premium for me when the weather is at its worst this autumn/winter. Don't really want to scuff up the new bike too bad in the worst conditions (that might change as the shiny novelty factor wears off).
I can also use the compromised Allez for an outdoor ride at a push. It's effectively two speed with the current gearing issues though so it would have to be short and sharp and pretty flat |

Be careful with it but most likely just a slight strain or sore from being in a position it's not used to being in, 94 ks is still a mighty fine ride buddy
Thanks, it's still my longest ever ride.
The Neck is better today, I hope it gets better for tomorrow. I want to ride again.

It's a good ride mate, keep it up. As long as you keep it relatively consistent (in terms of training sessions per week), you'll begin to see a massive difference after as little as 2 weeks.

I decided to try something new, so I rode my first Strava ride with taking some pictures(quality could be better though) and I went a bit offroad for the first time. It was alot of fun. The winter can come.

Got a CX bike today, a White CX Pro EU 16
went out on a ride to test the position and get used to the disc brakes, but didn't wear thick enough gloves and could barely move my hands after...
Still it was fun, looking forward to doing some CX racing eventually.

So so so cats and kittens I have managed to score a job as a Bike Mechanic! Started on Saturday and had a blast, the guy I work for is a old school climber who spends half the year overseas climbing mountains and riding around with OZ pro's like Simon Clarke and Luke Durbridge. Looking forward to learning all the in and outs of being a bike wrench.

SO was sick from Thursday to Saturday so lost two chances to ride ;(. Did a 40km ride today though and it was super fun! Also saving up for equipment needed for Zwift as it looks amazing! |

Lots has happened for me in the past few months. First I competed at Track National Championships (I am Jamaican to preface this) in which I took bronze in the Juniors' Individual Pursuit and Match Sprint. Then was the 256km Jamaica by Bike charity sportive, which I managed to finish without dying. This was followed by another track cycling meet Sunday before last, in which I didn't have a good time in the juniors, but in a combined scratch race with all categories I was able to come second in an intermediate sprint behind Marloe Rodman and 6th at the finish. Finally, yesterday I competed in the Bournemouth Time Trial - 22km, flat-ish but with a huge headwind for the 3rd quarter which slowed everyone. I finished in second for the juniors, just 8 seconds behind my teammate.
As I'm one of only four of us currently competing in the junior ranks who will still be juniors next year, my goals are pretty clear cut, and my calendar is already taking shape, with the World University Cycling Championships, the Junior Pan-American Championships, the Tour of Jamaica and the Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships all likely appearances. My biggest goal would be to ride at Worlds in Qatar, but I'll have to step up my game over the coming months to try and get the automatic spot at Pan-Ams.

Thanks man. I'll keep posting as things go.
Weirdly I don't really have an off-season as such, as my next race is in December and then my 2016 racing campaign starts off right away in January. I'm planning on skipping track nationals next year so I'll have about a month or so of ease after Caribbean Champs in August.

Late night in the garage tonight. After cleaning and re-lubing my shiny new bike to within an inch of its life, I noticed the gears were slightly off as the cables have started to stretch.
Five minute job I think, twiddle the rear derailleur barrel adjuster a bit and job done. No idea why but the barrel adjuster had no effect until after I'd unclamped the rear derailleur cable, turned the barrel adjuster almost all the way in then re-clamped the cable. It then worked perfectly :/
Can't explain that one - anyone ever had a similar problem?
Should've known better than to start bike maintenance late at night - however long you think you'll be working you can usually multiply it by 10...

Think I figured it out. I reckon when it arrived built from Chain Reaction the barrel adjuster was either all the way out already or very nearly - as in so much so that the screw thread on the barrel adjuster was no longer engaged = no adjusting effect.
Unclamping the cable removed the tension making it a lot easier for me to re-engage the barrel adjuster thread and screw it back in so that it now functions normally again after re-clamping the cable.
In all the Googling I did last night no where did it mention the possibility of the screw being completely unscrewed/disengaged! Simplest thing - live and learn |

Snow expected this weekend which means that salt will be put on the roads. This means it's going to be ultra slippery and the salt could damage the bike so I don't want to even try riding on the roads. I'm also busy for the rest of the week so the only chance I have to ride is on Saturday morning. Hopefully I can get a turbo and or the weather clears up so I can ride again but it isn't looking good ;( |

Half decent turbos are relatively cheap these days. I was glad I got a cheap but quiet fluid one last winter to have an indoor option. I'd be even happier if my prehistoric computer could run Zwift - if your hardware can manage that, it looks like a great alternative, indoor option. |

I've got my eyes on a setup that will cost around £210, it'll take a while to save up though, my estimates show that I will be able to buy it in March. Really don't want to stay off the bike for one month though

Does anyone else enjoy riding in bad conditions?
Apparently we are on a amber weather warning tonight but despite the high winds riding back from work is the most fun I've had on a bike in about 2 months since I was riding to work and in the space of about 5 seconds it went from a road to a river.

Especially in short bursts it can be fun alright. Other than an "epic" fight for survival I'm not so much of a fan when getting battered by the wind and rain for 5 hours though...
Something that everyone agrees on - tailwind is always good |

Not a huge fan of wind in particular, but a long tough rainy day is my cup of tea.
