This is beyond incredible. 4 stage wins?! I couldn't have dreamt with this. Can I please erect a statue to Tiziano? I just love him. What a rider.
A pity. I would have hoped for a fu**-less post from you now
Yeah, sorry.. Really need to stop swearing. Sorry mate. |

I really love seeing Winner Anacona leading the GC. Doubt he will win it, but always wishes my old riders all the luck they can get (as long as they can have it without beating my current riders)

Been a pretty awful race from my leaders in the Mountains so far.
For starters I have no idea why Delio Fernandez seems to be my leader and that must stop very soon. David Arroyo and Lopez Garcia need to start doing something in the mountains or this is going to be a low scoring race in one that is very important in terms of the relegation fight.
Come on Euskaltel!

This was a weird mountain ITT. Almost no flat parts and still the TT stat looked far more important than the mountain stat.
Horrible outcome this way by Berhane etc. while Lövkvist more or less proved to be the no.1 favourite now.
Cool win for Nicacio after his bad luck last year? Or the year before? |

Exactly my thoughts.
Could have been better for Anacona, but happy to still b 2nd with a minute on Berhane. We always knew we would most likely lose the GC lead - that's why I made sure to celebrate when we took the jersey

Last year! Yeah, kinda forgot to mention it in the report, but indeed cool to see him taking a stage after last year's early drama. Gratz, TR!

Damn MTT's needing TT stat. Petar slowly dropping away and at this rate what was a good race could turn into a disaster very very quickly. Not panicing but concerned.

Nicacio
I must say that I love many of the screen shots. Great work by the stage maker!

Had expected that to be a mountain time trial, but it wasn't really. Will be looking to get that changed in the route for next year
Lovkvist will be hard to stop now.
Big congrats to Bonsucro for finally breaking your GT duck - and very fitting that it is Nicacio who does so.

ITT stat didn't count, but 2 minutes.. Pedraza's ass is going to get beaten if he doesn't reach top 15 at least. |

10th, 20th, 29th and 40th, someone let the side down with the nice pattern we were building there
Zoidl put in a strong performance on that TT, though it wasn't all about the TT stat as Hofer was shocking. The TT stat obviously played a part though for him to do better than Zardini, Alizadeh and Rohregger but the Mountain stat must also have had a strong effect there.
Personally I think it's nice to get a TT that is a mix between the 2 stats and not one or the other, even if that is not what was hoped for for this race it would be nice if we could replicate that in some stage races next year so riders who are decent at both can have a chance against specialists in one or the other as it looks a little more open.

Another decent performance by Anton, nice! Not great but considering he took nice chucks on time on everyone infront of him except Lovkvist is good.
If he continous this form anything is possible, eventhough Lokvist looks unstoppable atm.
Also congrats the rider, awesome to see Bonsucro get a GT stage win atlast!

Some excellent pictures there tsmoha.
Nice to see Anton slowly climbing up the GC after that hilly stage disaster. Slowly but surely.

Well, seems like it won't get much better from here on regarding our GC result. It will be more and more important to collect points from breakaways. About time for Hollenstein or Schuler to survive

Took my time in getting here, I had to reread the report 3,197,802,547 times to make sure my eyes didn't deceive me ....
Nicácio! Where, oh where, did that come from?! I don't know, but I love this freak of nature!
That just makes this tour for us. It really does. Banishes so many ghosts. A massive result, one of the best ever for Bonsucro, and massive in the context of this season as well that takes us past the 1530 mark, a point I can't see the bottom five surpassing.
There is such a, now rich, history between Nicácio and the ToA, this probably being the final chapter. Definitely a short story to go in a MG anthology! What an ending though!
Thanks the detailed report tsmoha, when Nicácio turned up as leading in the first part I couldn't have dreamt he would have held on till the end - but he did! Thrilling! |

Once again terrific ride by Lövkvist!
It´s still a loong way to go for sure will be interesting to follow how Lövkvist/the team can defend the jersey.
Maybe Kreder is one of the sprinters who recoverd best for the MTT?
I haven´t said this enought but once again thanks for great reporting (tsmoha). |

Kononenko, wtf? Superstrong, great rider which I cannot say enough. Hope Popo can fight back a bit, but 5th, 10th and 11th is still great no matter how you look at it.
