Thanks for the report SN
Just 18 seconds gap, very close.
Nothing for us though At least Varhanik joined the break in
Herald Sun tour.
Congrats Valverde on the stage

Shikai with a somewhat expected stage win, congratulations, valverde! Also exciting to see only 18 seconds separate Morton and Lecuisinier before the final mountain stage, should give us a real drama.
Galta climbing to 15th overall means it was a solid TT from him, but hopefully it doesn't take away the chance for a breakaway participation or a mid-stage attack on the final stage. That would be cool to see after a rather anonymous race from him so far. |

Decent 5th for Zmorka, but still strange for me to see overwhelmingly top TTist in the field being hindered so much by just 8 stages. Reality shows us, that top riders against the clock are able to save the energy during even longer races and concentrate on the stage they should. But game is a game.
Thanks for a nice report and congrats to Meiji for somewhat expected stage win!
GC battle looks so tight, should be a thrilling last stage.

Perhaps it has something to do with the recovery stat. Zmorka is on 70 as far as I remember, while Shikai is on 78 and Lecuisinier is on 77.
So if you make an AVR of those two stats:
Chen Shikai - 77
Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier - 76
Marlen Zmorka - 75
I'm not sure this is how it is done, but it could be...

Only Cyanide knows It's often the case, that riders placed way down in the GC won't stand much of a chance in a later TT. No matter what backup stats, I guess. In this field, Zmorka was still able to score a somewhat decent result, while such guys would probably do worse in a more packed startlist with GC-riders also knowing how to put in a good timetrial
REC may be a factor though.. but on the other hand, I've seen 80+ TTlers losing timetrials against 75 TTlers just because those guys were better-placed in the GC. Spending your days in the autobus peloton won't save you that much energy here.

Daily form can do it as well, I don't know the exact numbers but it can have a pretty large effect and time trials will probably be where it shows most.

True. But I guess the recovery also works better for MO riders as they don't use as much energy climbing than lower MO riders.
IRL some top TT'ers decide to do extremely "shit" in the mountain races just to save energy, but I don't think that is implemented into the game - Like you say.

Lecuisinier sureky has some weird tactics... Could have been the stronger one here, but it's still close in the end. Congrats to tsmoha for the overall victory.

Well battled from Kudus, but a shame it wasn't enough to hold the top 5. I guess I can't complain about Herklotz getting it from a break as that's how Kudus is where he is.
6th isn't too bad, another top 10 for Kudus here. Next year is the big one though for him of course!
Thanks for the reports SN. |

4th is a good performance. Had hoped to podium just like last year, but the top3 were stronger here.
Same for Groenewegen, who was not able to beat Zabel.
Therefore the other riders in my team from rbc had the highlight moments with a stage win and strong time trial, while Edmondson was part of the sprint train.
GC wise I feel Morton is the best winner here and Shikai gets his podium after last years bad luck.
The Festina power train got beaten here. GC and stage wise. But they got the Vasyliv win already. So fair enough.
Thanks for all those reports, SN. Always enjoyable read. |

We failed to win the Lanterne Rouge
That was a great stage though. Congrats on the GC tsmoha.
Thanks for the great race SN.

Well fought by Hoelgaard to get third on the stage and also taking 2nd in the mountains classification. A decent final stage from Galta as well, at least it was the stage where he was most alert to moves from other good climbers in the peloton.
Congratulations to tsmoha on the overall victory. Morton got the tactics right on every stage, with some great help from Haig. Also well done to Dzhus, first pulling back a better climber, then beating him in the sprint for the win.
And thanks a lot for another great report, SN. It has been a pleasure to follow the race and the quality reports! |

You may question Lecusinier's tactics, but Morton surely gave him some hard times with those "sneaky" attacks! Kinda interesting that the Frenchie came close again, but who - but SotD - cares? Great to have this in the bag after George Bennett kinda failed in his prime year! I had some fears after last year's performance from Morton here, but he was way more aggressive this time.
Haig did an awesome job in those mountain stages. Kinda sad to see him losing a Top-10, but the way he came back after his crash to pull Morton to a crucial gap - epic stuff! Definitely a key factor for the overall victory, it seems. He will probably our leader next year then. Promising first Avenir from him.
Huge thanks for the quality reports! Obviously enjoyed them for many reasons

Great to see Carapaz nail top ten in the end!
Shame he can't return next year, but ohwell, thats life!
Also awesome to see Morton win, and my bet paying off! Gratz moha!
It was great to follow this race and thanks for the reports SN!

Morton is a deserved overall winner. Has been a nice race to see from the sidelines, since my Minions weren't expected to do anything (and didn't finish last ). Glad to see temporary teammate Carapaz in the top 10
Thanks SN for the great reports

Well Lecuisinier lost this one for himself, and only confirms what I have been nagging about him all season. Hopelessly defensive in his riding style, and like I have said numerous times, I would prefer him attacking instead of waiting, as I would rather try and fail, than not try at all. Morton is a perfect example of such a rider. Not only here, but in the other races aswell.
Well deserved win to the smartest rider (the less stupid one, you might say). I am happy to see Herklotz moving up to 5th, but losing the stage here was hopeless.
2nd, 5th and 7th with also winning a stage, the points Jersey and getting 3rd in the KOM, we have to look back and say we managed to show the team colors and made the race interesting. We will never again have such a strong team for the race, so its clearly a bummer to lose out on the biggest goal of the season, but that happens...
Thanks for making the race, reporting it well and keeping things intense, interesting and nail biting throughout with some quality reporting.

Cracking edition of Avenir, one of the best ever if not the best. Congrats to Morton, he rode excellently.
For BLK, Robov taken out and ruined what was a good race for him otherwise. Not much to say really for the rest of the riders. Good to help Lutsenko to some good results.

Great Avenir, and the reports were top notch SN.
Well done to Morton and OZ for the win, and shame that Kudus lost out on his Top 5 on the final stage.
Happy to have my young guys taking part
