What an unpredictable end to an - all in all - predictable GT!
Who would have thought that a break would have made it to the finish line at the champs elysees?!

Congrats to Alak on a delightful win after a shady Tour. Once again congrats to Avin for a never in doubt double!

Great to see East European idols taking their second GT of the season!

Hope to be able to one day achieve this and they have definitely shown it's very possible Smile

Great show of display in this Tour and thanks for reporting this long race SN Smile

Unlucky Gillett finishes last of the break, but still nice effort. Those final two stages at least brought us some points here, otherwise this was as embarrassing as to be expected prior to the race. To be fair, I just brought a team to pimp their XPs Wink Morton waited so long to attack and his effort was a bit unlucky, too. Well well, there will be a few more races, where you should be capable of scoring better.

Some great screens for the final stage there! Loved the winning screen in particular.

Big thanks for the reports! Always some hard work to do a GT and the quality has been the usual top quality. Didn't enjoy every stage, but that's a different story Wink

A big thumbs up for reporting this race! Haven't followed the entire thing but read some reports left and right.
Plushkin was the clear winner early on and nice to see him finish it, too.
Great work Smile

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually genuinely cheered when he made up that minute, what an astonishing performance to cap a fantastic Tour for him, he's gone from 6th last year to 2nd this year, our best result since Moreau took the yellow in the inaugural season. Rein will be back next year, and hopefully he'll be aiming for that top step. Maybe.

Hard luck to Swisscom, I know if it was the other way round, I'd be absolutely fuming, Amador has been excellent in this Tour, right up until that last kilometre

Congrats to Avin and Pluchkin, he never looked like losing, and that final stage win was the cherry on an outstanding cake.

And a final congrats to rjc and Good Energy, it's always nice to see a non-GC rider win the KOM.

Despite the dominant victory, it's been a very entertaining Tour, with the Bewley-Swift sprint battle (somewhat hijacked by Pluchkin taking the points jersey), plenty of breakaway wins, and a great contest for the positions below the top step. Oh, and some fantastic reporting too!

Watching and reading from the outside, this has been a great Tour Smile well done to Pluchkin and some fantastic reports by SN!

Interesting finish! Congrats Avin and Crommy, it was a good Tour. I wish there was a little more of a challenge to Pluchkin to make the fight for the win more interesting, but it was all around a good race. Thanks and well done SN. I'm looking forward to seeing if this boosted us in the rankings at all.

Thanks for your massive effort to make the Tour very enjoyable, SN! The reports have been great all the way.

Eventhough it was nice to see Alakagom's team take the prestigous win on Champs-Élysées, it was a disappointing end to the race. Kristoff's sprint was good though, fifth in the bunch is solid and confirming he's capable of mixing it behind the very best, just like he has been doing for the whole Tour.

6th overall with Martin is also good, and finally a goal achieved, which makes the season not a complete failure in terms of race goals after our misses in the Ardennes.

Big congratulations to Avin on the overall win of course, but also congratulations to Bushwackers and Crommy on their podium placings. Must be nice to see riders you've put quite a lot of faith and training to deliver in the biggest race of them all.

Dombrowski's 7th place shows his intentions for future Tour de France's, I'd say. Happy that he at least was behind Martin this year, I suspect it will be the first and only year where he's behind our captain for the race. It will be interesting so what GTs he targets next year and how well he can do already in his first year maxed.

Great win from Houle on the champs, bet Alak didn't expect that Pfft

Another great GT, if a bit predictable with Pluchkin getting another win here for Metinvest. Still great to see Avin's team doing well on the PT stage.

Thanks for the great reports SN, reporting a GT is always a monumental effort.

Very disappointing race for us. Have to think we might have been the most anonymous team of them all in the race. Atleast Ji got 18th and Kinshita with a 2nd place, but other than that, nothing at all.

Incredible, what more can i say, this is dream coming through for me and the whole project that started just four years ago in D2 division. Vuelta was something, but Tour is something more and winning both in one year is probably the feat that we will never come close to again. This is year of the beasts in the man-game and Pluchkin is finally part of its history, after being taged as the unlucky boy. This is also for you niconico and B&O!

Apart from Pluchkin, only Grosu was seen with two top10s, but who cares, we were all in for our main guy. Karnulin and loanee Salinas (big thanks to Azteca) were the luxury domestiques who served a vital role in this success, but whole team deserves a prize money for 4x stage win, two jerseys and 3rd in KOM. Grin

Congrats to other teams who feel that it was a good Tour for them, i think likes of Bouguyes, Vesuvio, Pendletons and Becherovka can be fairly happy. Nice stage win for Quickstep at Champs, to safe their race at least a bit, pulling a Vino there.

Thanks for all the congrats and especially words of sgdanny, what a warm feeling to be seen as some sort of role modeling team for eastern european teams coming through the ranks. Embarassed
(while Tinkoff played the similar role for us).

Last big thanks goes to the master reporter SN, great coverage of the race throughout all 21 stages, filled with detail, drama and perfect shots/angles. That pic of winning Houle is probably my all time favourite!

Now how should i tell Pluchkin that he will have his wage lowered? Pfft
I'll be back

Heine
Thanks for many great reports SN!

Avin: Just give him more wage ;-)

Happy that Monsalve managed to get the top 10 in the end, also pretty happy about a break winning the last stage when Zabel went out on stage 20 :-p Knowing him he would've actually won the bunch sprint with the break winning... Off to Avenir for him now!

rjc_43
Massive congrats Avin. What a way to enter the PT. It's been a year of surprises in the man game with Bewley, Ponzi, and now Pluchkin all doing the unimaginable.

On a personal note, to win the KoM is a very realistic achievement for a "classics" team like mine. To have Cattaneo perform quite so badly is somewhat of a let down. I fear for his use and wage in the future.

Loved every report, so one more, big thanks SN.

Congrats to Avin. It must feel great to win the biggest MG race, right in your first PT season!
Having a tier 1 leader surely is a great thing to survive and you really made the best of it with Pluchkin, where you will have fun for the years to come.

Thanks to SN for the great job of reporting the Tour. Really interesting reports and a bit different to the other two GT`s (in especially Giro) as there weren`t as many top20 rider attacks gaining big time to slip into top10.
In especially loved the screens on teh Champs Elysees. Perfect catches of the right angles there. I remember last year when I reported the evening sun Champs Elysees. Got some good screens as well but failed with angles in comparison to you (mainly the long shot from the breakaway ahead of the peloton).

A pity that it ended in a breakaway win. Last year only 1-2 good sprinters were left and I feared that scenario, which luckily didn`t happen then. This year a lot of big sprinters were still there and still a weird stop happened.

Taaramae, Amador and maybe Alarcon was the most thrilling fight I guess with Pluchkin being above everyone else. In the end the order is okay I think with the most complete rider taking 2nd. 3rd for UBS as mentioned before should help them a bit. But probably not enough if they don`t get more results in ToNE or Colombia. Really hope they can stay above the line.

Last but not least congrats to all stage winners and managers, who think to have performed well.

Thank you SN for great reporting and big congrats to Avin for another dominant win.

After successful Giro & Vuelta, my "win stage in all 3 GT´s" goal failed here. With, on paper, such strong support for Degenkolb, it´s very disappointing not to have any single sprint train built. Hopefully PCM15 will perform better in this area.

I would say it'll be interesting if he gets to ride any... Wink

Good race for us this year, very pleased to be on the podium twice and this should steer us in the right direction re: the drop. Congrats to Metinvest, Pluchkin has absolutely destroyed. And the same to Quickstep, always love the Champs Elysees breakaway and it's been fairly anonymous for them this Tour.

And of course, many thanks to SN, reporting has been brilliant.

Our only wildcard race of the season and a pretty good one it was for the team!

GC wise, Rafael Valls probably over performed slightly to finish in a strong 12th place, I was hoping for a top 15 so that goal has been achieved! Only just but he has done well for us. He has certainly done better here than he has on average the rest of the season.

Herrada and Jeannesson both performed well for us finishing 36th and 37th in the GC which is good considering they were domestiques. Was also good to see both of them joining breakaways and strong mid stage attacks.

Lopez Garcia arguably the second best performer for us here. He finished inside the Top 50 of the GC but more importantly took our first ever stage win in a Grand Tour! And it was in the Tour de France which makes it even better.

A bit disappointing that two of our French riders, Bonnet and Bouhanni, didn't quite make it to Paris but Bouhanni performed well in the sprints at times.

Reza the only one of our sprinting Frenchie's to reach the finish, he and Izagirre were not particularly active but this was expected from them.

As a Team also a solid performance for us as we managed to finish 4th in the Teams Classification of the biggest race in the Man-Game. Very happy to finish that high in this classification.

Overall a great Tour for us. 12th in the GC for Valls, a great stage win for Lopez Garcia and 4th in the Teams Classification. Could of gone so much worse.

Congrats to Avin for a dominant victory and well deserved considering he was the favourite for the race.

Thanks SN for the fantastic pace of reports going at two a day for the most part. A great quality of reports as well with great detail that I am sure most people appreciated and enjoyed reading a lot of the time.

Edit: Wasn't concentrating. Jeannesson took the stage win not Lopez...

Poor Jeannesson. Wins a stage, and yet Lopez Garcia gets all the credit Pfft

Really dissapointing last stage, would be great if Bewley could repeat Howard's win from the last season. Well, at least he won the sprint in peloton! Grin

Once again, big congrats to Avin, what a race for his team. Really decent TdF for Bouguyes, Swisscom and Vesuvio, they deservedly got a lot of points from this race. I am not really impressed with my race on the other way. 4 stage wins for Bewley is a good achievment, but that was somehow expected. No green jersey, Swift with similar number of wins, no Paris win, could be better. Velits with 9th place with quite a anonymous race, expected better. At least Vysna scored some decent points with 25th place overall, that's a nice surprise.

Overall a great race though, once again big thanks SN for reports.

Nice race even though the winner was obvious early on.

Really happy to see Paajanen apparently putting in some good work for Vesuvio and surviving to the end in good shape. Will be looking forward to get him back fully developed next season.
