Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt
The International Osterreich Rundfahrt is a mountainous race through Austria, it attracts the best climbers in the PCT. The first two stages of the race are the hardest, both containing summit finishes, chances are those two will decide the race, although the time trial on stage 7 will likely shake up the GC.
Contador is the red-hot favourite for this race, but Brajkovic, Abal (the defending champion), Van den Broeck (who finished highest of the riders here in the recent Tour d’Andorra) are all known as better time trialists then Contador, so he will have to make gaps in the mountains.
Favourites Rider | MO | HL | TT | Rider | MO | HL | TT | Contador | 82 | 76 | 74 | Bibby | 77 | 76 | 77 | Brajkovic | 81 | 76 | 78 | Teklehaimanot | 77 | 74 | 74 | Abal | 81 | 70 | 77 | König | 77 | 75 | 74 | Van den Broeck | 81 | 76 | 75 | Kennaugh | 77 | 70 | 73 | Eastman | 80 | 71 | 74 | Agudelo | 77 | 68 | 72 | Krasnoperov | 80 | 68 | 73 | Ardila Cano | 77 | 71 | 70 | Kiserlovski | 80 | 75 | 72 | Valverde | 77 | 77 | 69 | Talansky | 79 | 75 | 72 | Rosch | 77 | 72 | 68 | Moschella | 79 | 69 | 69 | Gomez Marchante | 77 | 69 | 67 | Samwel | 79 | 70 | 61 | Arroyo | 77 | 71 | 66 | Pantano Gómez | 79 | 71 | 54 | Topchanyuk | 77 | 73 | 65 | Stetina | 78 | 67 | 64 | López Garcia | 77 | 74 | 52 |
Of the 8 stages, 3 have a good chance at coming down to a sprint and the fast men who can get over the mountains will want to make the most of it. The fastest man on paper here is Kip, but he is a very weak climber and not great at recovering from hard stages, it’s doubtful whether he will make it through the first two stages. Boeckmans and Vesely are probably the best climbers of the sprinters and the latter has a strong team behind him.
Sprinters Rider | SP | ACC | MO | FL | Rider | SP | ACC | MO | FL | Kip | 80 | 82 | 54 | 69 | Modolo | 77 | 77 | 61 | 72 | Boeckmans | 79 | 81 | 61 | 71 | Aguilar | 77 | 76 | 58 | 70 | Vesely | 79 | 80 | 60 | 73 | Vaitkus | 77 | 74 | 56 | 77 | Croket | 79 | 71 | 56 | 74 | Gough | 76 | 76 | 59 | 76 | Colbrelli | 79 | 75 | 56 | 74 | Speirs | 76 | 80 | 54 | 71 | Bennett | 79 | 79 | 53 | 71 | Jaser | 75 | 73 | 61 | 71 | Avila | 78 | 77 | 60 | 70 | Haller | 75 | 75 | 60 | 68 | Brea | 78 | 76 | 57 | 71 | Martins | 75 | 71 | 57 | 68 | Rizza | 78 | 73 | 56 | 71 | Suryadi | 75 | 72 | 56 | 67 | Sinner | 78 | 73 | 54 | 71 | Benfatto | 75 | 75 | 53 | 67 | Pedersen | 78 | 75 | 53 | 72 | | | | | |

If Torres last year was busy doing impossible things, Moschella can do it to. Let's go for a top 10 please. |

Samwel here for us, most likely another poor performance but if he can get in the top 10 it would be huge for our season and make these 8 racedays not a complete waste. Bodnar is here as well for the TT, maybe he can pull out something there for us.
On form this year Contador should win this, so he's my guess. |

The most anticipated race of the season for me.
Don't regret I picked this as win goal, there are hardly any better fits on the calender for Janez.
I think this is one of the weaker GC-fields brajko has competed in so thats a promising start atleast. Also not comming up against Machado means mt stages will be much more open! I have faith, Brajko you can do this!

With no rider able to attack the GC, not even for sprint stages just left the breaks and maybe Fiedler for the TT if not too worn

Not a race where we should expect a lot.
Hopefully Lopez Garcia and Arroyo will be reasonably active on the 3 main mountain stages. If both of them are top 20 GC then that would be decent.
Would like a stage win in the mountains from one of our climbers, Duenas Nevado should be active in the breakaways. Will be good to see if the young Borisavljevic can show himself on camera once.

Goddammit sutty, your team has had way too much luck already, and still you're asking for more whereas my team has won NOTHING yet.
That said I feel like Vaitkus has a decent shot at the flatter stages.

Seeing Contador race Österreich Rundfahrt: Dream come true.
Good stages as usual. Love me some of my hometown mountain Kühtai <3

A grand race to round off the season for Contador.
His form has been wanting of late, however, starting as favourite he has no reason not to deliver here. So far Contador has only crossed the finish line first once this season, if he doesn't take a stage win here I will be a mix of sour and despair.
We want the GC win here, but anything less than second to Brajkovic in GC will be oh so hard to take. |

I've brought a team here filled with Austrian riders and I'm hoping that they can get into plenty of breaks and give the crowd something to cheer for.
Maybe being at home will help Zoidl put in a strong TT after those mountains which he shouldn't lose too much energy getting over.

My team has been awful at every HC race this season, and I really don't expect it to be any different at this race. |

Not really thrilled about this race, need breakaways, or some exceptional sprinting from Brea. Hopefully we can get some magic from somewhere.

But you shouldn't hope I will get any decent results, you're still somewhat fighting me for avoiding relegation

Hmm, looks quite good looking on the starlist - Vesely could actually have a decent chance to win his first race of his career.

Krasnoperov is still getting better! Looking pretty good with also Topchanyuk in that group.
Of course very pleased with Vorontsov's try as well, Denis isn't the best rider imaginable, but he's doing his job, and a bit more today.

Moschella there with the favourites, and Torres in the BOTD.
Just like last year. |
