Really happy that Linda Villumsen finally got her gold after 5 other medals.
Annoyed at myself for going against my gut and placing by Daily-bet on Brennauer though.

Normal Wiggins my favorite by long time trial. But when he stopped Tony Martin my favorite. Dumoulin is not at the same level. Rohan Dennis is crazy on the prologue/short time trial, but he has not shown as good long time trial, but if he do it today so win he. |

Great job by triple speed skating Olympic champion Sablíková to finish 12th in the ITT and gaining a place for Rio. Now she can become the third czech olympian to compete on both summer and winter olympics (after Neumannová and Hanušová/Nash combo of nordic skying and MTB).

Well done to Villumsen. I'm in the same position as Atlantius, should have stuck with her on the ITT bet.
Interesting that there are more athletes who have come into cycling from other sports in recent times. I just found out that Cameron Wurf apparently was an Olympic rower only three years before competing at a WC time-trial.

Too bad to see Duyck finish 9th. She was so set and keen on a top 8 place, it just seems sadistic for the universe to let her finish 9th and just outside Olympic selection. |

Alot of rowers cycle aswell being a good crossover, one of Australia's greatest rowers in Drew Ginn took up cycling after his rowing career at 39 and won the Oceania TT champs and finished 6th at 40 years old in our National TT champs. Obviously no superstar but not bad for a 40 year old and an example of rowers who can compete on the bike.
Also there are a couple of female rowers who have done similar

Didn't know that he took up cycling afterwards, that's pretty impressive for a guy in his late 30s to be able to adapt that well. The core strength and other qualities would carry over across sports quite well though which does explain it.
An interesting note on people to have competed in both Summer and Winter Olympics - the first one that came to mind was Jana Pittman from just last year (400m hurdles/bobsled) so it's clearly becoming more common to make the transition after an athlete reaches their peak in the first sport.

I second that rowers do pop up now and then as cyclist.
Seen some over the years.
Well the TT off to a typical US starts. Where would one start a TT in the land of Disneyland, if not in an amusement park....

Not bad from Moser. Didn't know he was a good time trialist like that. |
