That would be one hell of a way to replace Meintjes! Cavs + Renshaw + Eisel + Holm is a serious outlay of money though and this really isn't a team that needs yet more sprinters. But my god i'd want that for PCM play

Boassen Hagen would be really happy about this..
Though it would be kind of funny that he and Goss would go there for a new start, and end up being Cav's leadout again.

lol Goss as a leadout. Maybe on the down under criterium but anywhere else he'll be long dropped.
Farrar I could actually see being a good leadout

Yeah agree that having Goss as a lead out would be an epic fail, even at the Bay Crit series he'd find a way not to keep up.

What happened to Goss, btw? Didn't follow him closely, but didn't he once win MSR? One hit wonder or was he injured before becoming a crap rider?

He drinks too much. Zabel was already warning for this in 2011-2012 but it has gotten much worse since.

And now cyclingnews is saying he won't be resigned by MTN for 2016...
Yep he won MSR when riding for HTC in 2011. All depends on who you talk to about what's happened to Goss, he was signed for good money by GreenEdge and started well enough but fell short of his season goal of taking a Tour stage and the Green jersey in 2012, then the wheels fell off. Talk locally is he got lazy and also hit the alcohol pretty hard and just couldn't get his shit together, by the time he realised it it was to late and tried to reignite things with MTN but it hasn't worked. Don't know what he will do now but can't see him ever riding WT again

I think he's pretty careless and lazy. Pretty sure he was very much a boozehound for a while. He got frustrated when he couldn't get his leadout to work properly in his first year at Orica and it kinda went from there.

Thanks, guys. Didn't know about those alcohol/lazyness issues/rumors! Maybe he will end up like Wes Sulzberger, doing nothing in the NRS

Boeckmans woke up from his coma today.
He was able to talk to his family and the doctors. Hope recovery goes well for him. |

It will take time but if he's talking then the signs are great

Yeah, it's a good sign indeed.
Also the coma was mostly because he had problems breathing on his own. His ribs/lungs took most part of the damage.
Still not a good thing, but now that he can breath on his own and talk, it's quite hopeful. Thankfully, there's no (sign of) brain damage or serious head injury. He should make a full recovery and leave this nasty period behind him.
Not sure about his career though. For me and many people, this would leave a huge trauma. |

Not sure if I should like or dislike that post. I love Cavendish and I hate that he's out, but I don't want to give you a dislike. Where's the "Bad News" button?

Just recovering to live a normal and full life would be a wonderful result from this considering what could of been, it really was one of those accidents that could of ended his life, at the very least his family and friends have him back. You would think it would be a real uphill battle to make it back to the pro peloton, even if he makes a full physical recovery you would have to wonder about how he would handle it mentally, guess it comes down to if he can remember the accident or not, if he remembers nothing of it then maybe he could race again but I know it I could remember an accident like that I'd struggle to ride a bike in anger again. Let's hope that if he wants to remain in cycling he will be able to in some capacity

I don't think like and dislike are for opinions of news in my interpretation.
