Research
>>> Note: Send this file to knockout <<<
Besides the scouting money, some teams put some money aside for research. Now you can decide how you want to spend that.
Download this file: https://www.mediafire.com/download/r4c...earch.xlsx
The first thing to do is spliting your money into the one you will use for training and the one you will use for other stuff.
For that put your team ID, look into table "teams" incase you have forgotten it" into C2 in "money" and put a number in C5, that's the money you'll use for training. Don't add anything to C6. C5 will automatically be deducted from C2.
To spend your research budget go to tables "Training" and "Other".
Training
Additionally to the points a rider will naturaly gain you can add some through research. You can research on nine different training options. The result of research will be "packages" of stat gains. Researching for a specific rider type can bring you gains in all the stats that aren't 0 in the specific package type. One package will be used for only one rider. You can research a maximum of four packages of every type.
The numbers in cells C-O are the likeliness that you will get points for that specific stat.
To research on a rider type simply put the money you want to use next to it (columns P-S). You can spend money on as many rider types you like to. If you want to have several packages for one type of rider, so that you can spend it on several riders, also put numbers in the lines below "2,3,4".
The more you spend for one package the higher is the chance to get a lot of points. There is no minimum to be spent, but below 20 it can happen that there are no points at all awarded.
One gained point doesn't equal one stat point. The higher the stat, the more points have to be paid for the stat.
Other
In other you have the option to research on 4 different fields. This season that happens a little different than last season. Potential is obvious, Potion of Youth will higher the age of decline, the fitness trainer increases the race days of a rider by 1-5 and the mediator will be of use in the renewals.
Except in mediator, you have to pay fixed prices to get a certain result. So for example getting a rider from pot 6 to 7 costs 700 this time. Getting an additional 5 race days for one rider costs 200. If you want to invest into one type there, put a number in the row below the "#". If you put a 1 somewhere you will have the option to use the specific research on exactly one rider, 2 for two riders. Each of those can only be used once on one rider. If you want e.g. the age of decline of a rider to grow from 33 to 35 you'll need to buy the packages 33->34 and 34->35.
At the mediator you will have to invest a multiple of ten. In the lighter grey cell just write how much times ten you want to spend. A 5 will result in 50 spent.
Once you are done go to "PM" and copy the grey area in a table and send it to knockout.

For round 3 of scouting only 3 people (including me) sent something in. I'll now proceed to the second part of it and pm the other two with a rider they have to make a new bid on. Then there will be a last round of scouting in which you still can sign some riders, before they are partially added to the DB. There will be a WC race with all generated young riders before so you can see them already in action and then maybe make up your mind wether you sign someone.
There are more good news: since the stage db is working now I could download Pellizotti2 Fleche Wallonne and create a WC race these are the routes:

Nice routes, the TT, especially, could throw up some surprises. ..maybe! - Everyone who wanted a hilly WC route - you want the WC to retain his title too much.
Bikex - Just to be sure, are we are sticking with steals for next season? |

I thought I should bump this post due to the low amount of received pms.

Can everyone who hasn't filled out the signup form, but posted in the signup thread that he'd continue add some focus secondary nations to his post if there are some. Remember this will have an influence on quality and quantity of talents from that country.
Also scouting round 4 is here: https://www.mediafire.com/download/6mv...ng-R4.xlsx
Everyone should know by now how this works, if not check previous posts. This time you can only sign riders, not scout anymore. Given the U21 WCs some might want to use this opportunity.
This time you can send this also to me.
Edit: Also deadline for research tomorrow!

Updated my team singup post. I had been hoping to get permission from the original jersey maker first, but got no response after sending a PM. I just hope they don't mind

Riders Development
So the next task you have to do is to decide about the training program of your riders.
You'll do it with this file: https://www.mediafire.com/download/90y...t2015.xlsx
In detail this is kind of complicated so I just give you a short idea about how stats are made. Behind each stat there is a number that is between 0 and 1000. 1000 will give the rider a stat of 85, 0 50. Which number is required for which stat can be seen in table 3. Which number the rider currently can be looked up in Stats.
Stats are divided in three types of stats, primary (MO,HI,TT,SP,CB), secondary (FL,PR,AC,FI) and tertiary (DH,ST,RS,RC) stats. Each of those has a maximum of points depending on the riders potential that the cyclist can reach in his career through natural progress.
Depending on the age, potential, scored race points, race days and if the rider is in a dev team, but also depending on the riders maximum every rider gets a certain amount of progress points. Usually 50% of those points go to primary stats, 30% to secondary and 20% to tertiary. That won't be happening if the rider reaches his max in one of those stattypes. Then he will only get what's required to do so.
By selecting the training program you can decide in which ratio they will be spent. There are 12 programs selectable. The numbers show you how much out of 100 points the specific stat would give you. The secondary and tertiary stats get on average less points per stat than the primary. That's why the numbers you see will be multiplied by 4/3 (secondary) and 2 (tertiary) before being added on top of the current stats. This guarantees an even development.
Still to balance things out in the long run, some stats won't be taken over 1:1.
----
Now, how does the file work? The first thing is as always, enter your Team ID in C2 in table Team. If you have forgotten it look it up in teams. If you go to Riders you will see all your contracted riders listed. Next to their stats, you see a number from 1 to 7. That's the training program the average calculator suggests, if you don't select a program by yourself this one will be taken.
In column Y you see the total progress points the cyclist gets. It is recommended to filter all 0,00 out to avoid having a too long list. column Z, AA and AB are the points the rider gets for primary, secondary and tertiary stats respectively.
If you have filtered out the riders that won't progress, you can start assigning training programs. Just put in W the number of the program you want, in X the name of the program will appear and the stats will switch immediately to how they'd look like if the rider trains with this specific program. To know more specific how much better the stats got, you can check out StatsNew. In RidersNew you will see your entire team with the new stats.
If you are done with everything go to table PM. Send me columns B-C.
---
Through natural development, usually the highest stat in the main stats that some riders can reach is 81. Through stat packages in research is the only way to increase it to 82. In the next season(s) I won't accept main stats increased to 83 to avoid an uneven field, just so you know. |

Same for me, hope not to get anything wrong with any of my riders as most of the offseason will rely on this task.

Well, I was hoping for more for Wellens, Slagter and Hofland, but all in all I can be happy. One gap in the team I see so far, but nothing that a good steal can't solve

Was honestly hoping to get Moser to 79 hill but for the rest I'm really happy that building a young, full of potential team helped.
Some of my youngsters are now solid domestiques awaiting their respective team leaders ^^

Vanmarcke stays

On something else: I was thinking about introducing a dynamic decline age, which would make riders that are already very good in a young age reach their age of decline earlier. So for example Quintana or Kwiatkowski would maybe already start to decrease at 31 or something.
For riders older than 28/29 this wouldn't change anything, but below that it would prevent riders dominating for more than 10 years.
The age of decline is anyways increasable by potion of youth research, which is mostly used on good riders anyways, so in the end e.g- Quintana would probably still only start to decline at 35.
Interested to hear your thoughts on this and whether I should make this change. |

Sounds like a good idea with your last point about the potion of youth reasearch...

Damnit
I would be against that idea, some people have been investing heavily in their younger riders, and that change will make them less valuable.
