Have to say I am not sad I fell asleep before the Gallina.

Also the only comparison with Dumoulin and Indurain is that one is on a much better version of EPO.

Oh come on, if Dumoulin is on EPO he would be crushing the rest or you're saying that everybody is on EPO currently. As a matter of fact almost nobody uses it anymore, because it can easily be found.

Micro-dosing...

The whole cycling world being aware of micro-dosing it's not the smartest thing to do. I'm not saying he's clean, but he isn't gaining advantage over the rest for sure. I'm assured he's not the only doper in the Vuelta, and I think that if he's doped, then the rest aren't only on bread and water as well.

How do you come to the conclusion that micro-dosing isn't the smartest thing to do? The bio-passport gives the riders/teams/"doctors" parameters to work within, the correct micro-dosing program is undetectable! why do you think a team like Etixx have a "doctor" on staff who is a hematologist in Ibarguren Taus

Since the whole peleton is micro-dosing, at the end does it matter if Tom dopes, when everyone else does it as well. All this stupid argument started because I disagreed with one who undervalued Dumoulin's achievement because he's obviously on "better version of EPO". I really hate people not respecting the effort a rider puts, apart from doping, because everybody dopes and that shouldn't mean they wouldn't have made it if hypothetically the whole peleton was clean. Sadly, doping is nowadays needed to get into pro cycling but after that it's training and talent that allows you to be above mediocrity, unless someone is backing you and allowing you to dope to a bigger extent.

As an AFL fan, that could potentially be a horrible injury. Obviously it's much different from footy but recently several careers have been ruined by recurring navicular fractures. Hopefully for his sake it's not as serious a long-term issue in cycling.

Ignoring the potential doping-usage, it's a bit of a joke Froome has only won 2 GT's, despite being the best stage racer for the past 4 years.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Contador would disagree with that he's won 4 or 3 in 4 years ,whatever way you want to look at it

Well, I'm not just talking about GT's when I say "best stage racer". Froome has a lot more wins. One could also argue he destroyed Contador twice in their main season goal, Tour de France. So I'd give the edge to Froome at the moment.

Anyway, the point is the Froome can't be happy that he has only won 2 GT's at this point in his career.

I love this part of the comment (frankly i don't want to get into the rest of the discussion). Having recently read biographies from Millar, Barry and Hincapie all three say exactly the opposite was true for them. Their talent got them in but then they needed to dope to reach mediocrity. Obviously a different period where EPO usage was rampant but i'd say that talent can get you in but doping separates the winners from the rest more times than not these days.

Well, I agree with that, but what I meant that if you're not talented you'll never become a winner. The rest was more or less exaggerated. Unfortunately, I think everyone dopes and from an early age to be spotted. I even tend to believe the past was different because no-one took youth races seriously then and talented amateurs could shine and get spotted. Currently the globalization in cycling has led to youngsters doping as well. 10 years ago the Giro and the Vuelta were the home-races for the Italians and Spaniards and nothing more. Now they're much more valued and a win in them means something. That's why I think the above mentioned people aren't a good example for the modern situation.

Three dutch wins in a single GT. The last time was in 2000 TDF, I think?

I have a feeling I'm back in the early 2000's again.

Well just look at the stresses put on that bone in the different sports. Really no reason to think it will be anything other than a normal recovery for Froome.

You really can't say that the Vuelta and Giro were home races for the Italians and Spanish 10 years ago, just a quick look at the last 30 editions of both there have been 14 international winners in each of the races. Also globalisation of the sport hasn't lead to juniors doping more, just look at the Italian amateur scene and the rampant doping that has been going on in for a lot longer than cycling has been globalised (not picking on Italy as plenty of other countries have had the same situation)

I think he would be pretty happy that he has won a race let alone 2 GT's at this stage of his career considering where he was at pre the 2011 Vuelta. He's won the biggest GT of them all twice in the last 4 years with a podium(he could of beaten Wiggins in that year) and a DNF in the other , he's also podium twice in the Vuelta in that period so that's 2 wins and 3 podiums out of the last 8 GT's he's competed in.

Yep this is true, it's painful but not a serious injury for a cyclist to recover from
