Did my team really slow down for Groenewegen in this TTT???
If so, this is really big rubbish decision. |

No surpsie to see us loose minutes, actually feared Guldhammer would loose three minutes or so. 2'19 to Oz is decent with our line up. Congratulations on that wanted TTT win, tsmoha!
Now I can only cross fingers the hilly stage is very selective and Guldhammer following the moves, if not this is going to be a difficult race for us considering a top 10 or better overall.
SN must also be a happy man, seeing Vesuvio gap all teams except Oz. A perfect start for Schleck. |

That was quite a big loss here, but it doesn't matter too much. I can only hope that losing that much, will make Pichon attack on the next stage.
Vesuvio performing well above their level, and Andy Schleck must be a huge favorite to win the race now.
Congrats to Oz for finally winning a TTT. It became close. Also much closer than what seems sensible to be honest. I'm secretly rooting for Kritskiy here, but it will be difficult.

Yes! Close one, but I'm happy enough to win a stage and taking the leader shirt for one day. A pity about Pozzovivo, but it's something I can live with. Schleck was always going to be better here anyway, even though it would have been a small chance for Pozzovivo to take the lead in the next stage - which could well go to a breakaway now

Amazing TTT performance by Vesuvio! I remember there used to be a theory that going first was a bad thing in TTs or TTTs, but clearly not anymore. Must have been an immense performance by Kittel and the rest to do so well, and but so much time in to most of the other teams. Can't complain with 2nd to Oz, about time they won a TTT!
Still, the race is far from over. 3 of the remaining 5 stages suit Gesink and Taaramae more than Schleck, and they are still within a minute - would expect them to gain at least that in the ITT, so the Mountains v Hills battle is still on.

Nice 7th place for Petit and then the expected diabolical TTT. Losing three and a half minutes is kind of expected with this lineup - and also considering I missed out on 4 riders in transfers who would have made the train respectable |

Great stuff from Guldhammer! 23 seconds are obviously not much, but taking time on all overall contenders is great. Hopefully it's a sign of him being aggressive on the mountain stages as well, that will certainly be needed if a good GC is going to be made.
Nice to see Stake Laengen try his luck with a mid-stage attack as well, hopefully he can hit the right breakaway or a similar attack in the mountains, he certainly got the stats to chase a stage win.
Brändle is a powerhouse, and proving it as well, congrats Heine! Also Ignatiev once again showing he's decided to be truly useful in the PT this season, well done. |

From a neutral's perspective, disappointing not to see the top riders really try over any of the hills.
From my perspective, great stage Of course, not so great to lose Kittel, who could have challenged for the ITT stage win - but can never tell with TTs after mountains, and the important thing for this race was his TTT contribution

Perhaps I should use Gesink only in GTs now

Good TTT for us in the morning. Complete disaster in the evening. 30 of Urans 50 race days gone now, and only scored about 150 points so far. Depending on how the race turns out for other teams, this might leave us in the relegating spots.

Condolences to Kami, that always sucks. Schleck is definitely in a prime spot to win this now. I'm a little disappointed by our TTT result, but I'm glad to see Nibali going for it in the hills, which hopefully is a sign that he will go for it in the mountains as well. Great race so far!

Great to see Eibegger in the break. As usual it is the wrong guys we put into breaks, though. 5th and some KOM points is probably the best we can get from this race.
It really sucks to see Uran abandoning the race. Some teams a really haunted by bad luck this season.

This was always a realistic chance for a breakaway rider to claim the lead. Too bad a TT-beast did it This will significally hurt our chances for a shot at the win in the timetrial with Durbridge. Smart move from Ignatiev though.

Feel for Kami. That is random bad luck.
Jiao rescueing race slightly there - had hoped Holloway would have had a podium or two and he really gave that last one a go. Gives a nice feeling really that he nabbed a podium.

Ovechkin looked a bit tired, but still a good TTT by Tinkoff, Too bad we lost 33 seconds during yesterdays' hilly stage, now let's see what Kritskiy can do in today's - crazy - mountain stage!

So i have managed to read the reports now, thanks Gusta, SN and Ember! I thought i will come and rant right after abyssmal TTT (11th with 2nd-3rd best squad?), but stage 4 report made for that. Shame that Ignatiev could not snatch a stage win, but slipping into Yellow/KOM, even for just a one day is cool and it is another great feat from Mikhail this year.
As expected he lost it in the mountains and we also lost three riders, but the race is a moderate success already. Hopefully Mikhail can do another top10 in TT, but it will be hard after the hard mountain stage.

Wow. What an awful performance by Keizer.
First I wanted to write that my team is performing just like a PCT wildcard team is supposed to do with breakaways and active riding.
Then I saw Keizer dropping and instead of going for top10 he is out of top30. -5 day I guess.
Aru on the other hand did okay here, while only the expected Frison had to abandon.
Congrats to SN. Suaza with one of those brilliant days just like in the first Giro mountain stage. Will be interesting if he can keep a high GC with a TT and hilly stage as well. Surely would need a great mountain stage again.
Also huge stage for CT with Sicard surprisingly taking the stage.
@Gustav: Or was Keizer injured after a crash? There was a Aegon rider crashing in one picture on last stage unnamed? |

Stage win and great racing from Matthias! Actually my first stage win this season.
Top 5 currently is over-achieving, and he will fall down further, but if I'm lucky he could get a top 10, that would be really great for the team. Didn't expect anything from this race, making this result that much better
