Feel very sorry for Sykkel_Freak, happening at stage 20 just makes it even worse, if possible.
Pluchkin stamping his authority on this Vuelta, congratulations again Avin! Gesink also looks somewhat safe for third, but you never know with the TTs anymore, so it's probably not 100 percent safe just yet.
Happy to see Guldhammer with another strong final mountain stage, not quite like in the Giro, but he still punched well above his weight on that stage, which is promising for years to come.
And thanks again for all the work you've put in this Vuelta, tsmoha! |

Yap, terrible news with Phinney going out. Hated to report on this, even though it helped a struggling Pozzovivo keeping his Top-10.
Cunego again strong, Pluckkin nailing it. Off-day for Amador, which is unlucky for his team. At least he did limit the damage and overtook some riders on the final climb..

I hate my Vuelta team soo much, utter twats did absolutely nothing noteworthy beside their fucked up leadouts.
Sad news for Venchi, but congrat to Plukchin and Metinvest, dominant performance, should do the double this year really.

That is absolutely horrible news for Phinney. Obviously it basically solidifies Cunegos chances of atleast finishing 7th overall, but it must hurt for Venchi.
Great to finish 2nd on the stage too, although another win would have been nice.
Pluchkin should have let Cunego win though.

This is not good advert for Phinney potential buyers really. He could well have been up there in this race, but he has simply failed over and over in the mountains and here he just crashes out. Damn unlucky.
He isn't the only GC guy to have underwhelmed Contador being the other - bizarre race from Pistolero.
Swift elimination here would have been a bit of a blow, a bit surprising he came close really.
Feel abject really to lose two guys from Red Bull on last day you can but I couldn't really have expected them to survive really would have been a bonus. Still it sums up possibly the worst GT Red Bull have ever competed in, no sniff of a stage win only the briefest glimpse in a breakaway and our leader Guerao utterly failed to compete in sprints in his home nation.
On the other end Pluichkin has been knocking at the door for some time and defeats the best Spainard. Gesink for me a slightly surprising podium he has climbed really well overall. Cunego has repeatedly shown great class - his GC position not super but the old man has turned back clock so many times.

I know how this feels for Venchi. It really sucks! Atleast Phinney scored well going through the race. As far as I remember they were among the top 3 scoring teams so far, but it really does suck.
For our team this sucks aswell (not as bad clearly). Lecuisinier have done nothing all race long, and when he finally looks to win something what does he do? Fucks it up again. He has been safely positioned in 2nd place of the Youth Competition almost all race long, and on the final stage he decides to give the position away to Wellens - A fucking loanie.
No matter what happens on the final stage this has been a hugely dissapointing race, with riders doing absolutely shit and balls for 21 stages. Extremely frustrating to see similar riders battling for stagewins and mountainjerseys. Lecuisinier is a helper - Period. If he can't be bothered to attack at all he doesn't deserve to be a leader at this team. Too bad he is also the leader of the Tour de France. I truly regret that at this moment.

Pinot sticks to type and is dropped by weaker climbers such as Wellens
Still, decent race for us. Looking at 3 in the Top 35, 2nd and 5th in the KOM and maybe 3rd in teams. Find it bizarre how inactive Elissonde has been compared to much weaker Vuillermoz though. |

Wow, great work from Wellens to jump up to 12th and go into the U25 lead. But poor Phinney

Perfect
Three stage wins, red jersey, points jersey and 3rd in KOM, not bad. Aleksandr fulfiled the expectations we put into him before the season and nailed it this Vuelta.
Crashes cant occur in TT, right?
Perfect reporting tsmoha, you are Pluchkin of reporting.

I guess Tinkoff saved the best for last, although I of course still ain't happy with Kritskiy overall ride, but he is showing he can fight back. And with Novikov attacking during Stage 17, Pomoshnikov Stage 18, Ignatenko Stage 19 and Pomoshnikov again during Stage 20 securing his KoM Jersey it has been a good last week. Adding possible team rankings and the stage win of Pomoshnikov of Stage 8 you could say; good GT after all!
Final stage for Kritskiy?

So close to 6th overall, wasn't expecting that good of a result for Cunego for this TT, and Shikai did well too, inside the Top 30 and a good result on the final stage.
Congrats to Avin though!
Also, thanks so much for the amazing reports! Fantastic pace throughout!

Brenes, Aziz, Froome and Cicero..stage win is the bare minumum..not idea about Brenes in GC, would rather him suck for 2 weeks and then target KoM and stage wins..we'll see...Cicero and Froome have sucked majorly this season so far...hopefully they can change it a bit around.
Crap, really can't say anything more, everyone did preety bad, Brenes on 28th with 79 MO doing nothing and leadouts fecked up the highlights of the tour. However awesome reports and entertaining read, however painful. Grand job Tsmoha. Well done to all the winners!

Congrats to Avin, good to see Pluchkin finally win his GT. Now to see if he can replicate this form in the Tour, if he does Metinvest could be pushing a top-10.
Also happy to see Gesink on the podium, after finally taking a gamble on a GT.
Thanks for all the reports once again tsmoha, a brilliant effort this season with so many quality reports. |

Congrats to Avin, Pluchkin delivering like he should.
I've got mixed feelings with this Vuelta. It's amazing that Tenorio managed to finish second in the GC, but no stage win is kinda unfortunate. A lot of our relegation competitors also scored very well here by getting stage wins or good KoM/Points placings, so in the end, combining everything, i don't think i can call it a huge success. Still, it was fun to see Tenorio in the red for the second week.
Was a pleasure to read this race, thanks a lot for the reports!

Exciting racing. 3 fun weeks of Racing. Great to see the strongest man winning and congratz to Avin!
And wow, Abal really ending 5th, that is nothing else than incredibly impressive!
That makes it some incredible GC-racing from the wildcard teams so far. With 5th and 6th in GC in the two GT's so far. Could have been even more impressive aswell if Conta didnt get injured early on.
Shame some strong riders really underperforming, especially Amador and Kritskiy dissapointed me. Phinney abandoning though, heartbreaking
Huge thanks to Tsmoha for another massive effort, superb reports all the way!
