I want Abal back...
If he goes on to finish in the top 5, I'm going to regret my decision to sell him for a long long time. Very well could be the decision that costs us from staying in the decision because Fothen and Ratiy have been just awful.

I doubt Abal will have the power to finish in the top 5. At least one of those hilly stages should produce some gaps between the GC contenders and he is not even amongst the very best climbers.
That being said, a top 10 by him is very likely.

Knockout from Phinney, level of his own. Also impressive result from Abal, higher than I think anyone expected

Nice to see Abal up in second, a good result for Buff. Plus a nice buffer for Phinney over his rivals leading into the mountains.

Well Contador has moved up the GC to 61st....
We showed some spunk on stage 1 but it has been dull since. No breakaways for us, again?!
If there has been a team in the history of the MG, into May, that has had less success in breaks than Bonsucro this season - then I want proof.
More Bonsucro TV time please. |

Very good stage from Tenorio. Great that he mananged to stay with Pliuchkin and Phinney and only a minor gap back to Gesink & Cunego. It could have been much worse had he been in the larger group a minute back.

I'm sure we could challenge you for that this season, I think we've been involved in 2, maybe 3 so far.
nice stage, fellow Sammarinese Scarponi getting the win was nice to see, and it's good to see Amador up there in GC, Swisscom need a good result from him and so far he's showing signs that he could deliver.

Maybe being in the top-20 instead of the top-10 will be better when the mountain stages start, could be a come back story for Kritskiy if we play it right.

This is what I want to see from Gesink. It wasn't a big gap but it's good to see that he is trying.
Also, let's hope that the breakaways that make it to the finish line won't do it a by a huge amount of time and give us a chance at the team rankings. Gesink & Brambilla plus one of my domestiques (Majka, Van Der Velde or Ruijgh) should be enough to take down those rankings in the mountains.

Hmm, decent try by Sagan, too bad the breakaway could not hold the peloton this time. Hopefully Peter will continue to be as aggressive as his real version in the last few weeks.

3 stages..zero breaks..zero involvement...Froome doing nothing..no one giving a shit..oh well..
Good Energy on fire right now, winning everywhere! Shaping up to be very interesting GC battle as expected.

Another solid performance from Guldhammer, but it's difficult to see how he's going to do better than 9th (at best) seeing the riders who are in front of him in the GC, and there are also obvious threats behind him. He will really need to be at his best to do another nice Grand Tour GC.
The mountains should be great looking at the fight for red. It's pretty close and nicely set up with no huge favourite being out of it after six stages.
Thanks for another day with two reports, tsmoha! |

Better from Bakelants, but there's only 2 real chances left for him to go for the stage win, so a little disappoiting from him so far.
On the other hand, my loaned rider Tim Wellens has surpassed expectations so far, 13th overall and 2nd best youngster is great. Lets see how he gets on in the mountains.
I backed Phinney before the race, and he's showed his strengths so far, but those mountains will be the place for Tenorio to claw back time, so the race is set fairly well at the moment

Good 3rd place here by Koretzky. I can't expect more than that. I just hope he can continue to do this once in a while to get a few odd points.
Lecuisinier behind the best is not that surprising, although I would have preferred Wellens not being in the group ahead. Having +5TT could mean that Lecuisinier will claw him back though.
The hills aren't his terrain, so let's hope he can do a bit better in the mountains.

Nice display of Ion Izagirre on (almost) home soil. Keinath did also quite well after not the best TT performance.
On the other hand, it makes me quite nervous to see half of my team including whole sprint train amongst last 10 riders in both hilly stages

Well, then. I guess Fraile is the only one to get dessert tonight.
And maybe Maksimov just because he hasn't abandoned yet.

Well, would have liked to see a bigger gap for Cunego, he will need to if he wants to get into the Top 5.

Just awesome work reporting here tsmoha, thank you.
A slightly more active hilly stage, though it was more medium mountain almost. Little mini gains highlight that Phinney will sure be vulnerable when we hit the mountains.
One flat stage before then, will the sprint teams be geared up to chase? They should be though PCM you cannot tell! Not really looking forward to seeing another absent sprint!

Nice stuff from Valverde, handy. Interesting to see how things go for him, his GC efforts have been a way above expectations thus far. Thanks tsmoha, great job.

Decent ride from Pluchkin to stay with majority of other GC favourites, gap to Gesink is not good though, but still manageable in the mountains i hope.
Now top10 for Guardini and up to the mountains!
