It's almost like ASO want us to dislike these mountains by using them so often

At least I hope that it will be a TT up to Ventoux... But I really doubt. |

Considering its status as one of the Tours most famous climbs Mont Ventoux hasn't been used that often really in comparison to the famous Alpine and Pyrenneen climbs. It's not that easy to keep coming up with new climbs.
I hope they don't put a repeat of the stage in the Dauphine though.

What do you have against Ventoux. I wouldn't say it's there every year unlike Alpe d'Huez or Tourmalet. And we always see spetacular battles there. If Quintana and Pistolero are in peak shape we would definitelly see a great battle between the big three Spoiler Sorry but Nibali must prove he's s strong as those two and Froome at the mountains. I just don't think he ws ever equally good to be considered a competitor. He's never beaten any big gun in a GT, never except the 2012 Tour de Flats. |

That means 2 stages (one easy I reckon) in the Alps, Ventoux and 2 stages in Andorra or thereabouts + one more Pyrenean stage?
I hope thats an ITT as well, but I have no problem with Ventoux. Remember, they used it in 2009 and 2013 lately, thats completely fine. Span of 3-4 years is good. |

I don't have anything against it, in fact I love it but don't want it to become like the Alpe and end up overused, I just think they could of waited another year or tried another side of Ventoux

Vaughters, you are a complete waste of time. Why would you state such silly thing as to retire if a rider is caught - everyone and their god damn mom knew you wouldn't.
Oh well. Had this been in Spain.... massive uproar |

Oh, how brave he is, and what a noble action. He is truly the victimized part.

That's what I was thinking! Do us all a favour Vaughters and be "selfish" as you describe it and disappear!

First tweet in two years by JT Locke. Did they ban him from Twitter too?

I don't mind this actually, like others have said I would like it to be an MTT as due to its geographical location its' always going to be a _____/ stage if used as a road stage. And plus the Tour hasn't had an MTT since 2004 which is a shame, in that same period we have had 6 in the Giro and 2 in the Vuelta.

Agree with most of this, Ventoux is definitely not overused like Galibier, Tourmalet, Alpe d'Huez etc are.
We now haven't seen Galibier in the Tour since 2011 so I'm almost certain that will feature in a stage somewhere, although presumably they will be heading south through the Alps so there aren't actually many options apart from Galibier - Alpe d'Huez (surely they won't try and impose that on us again) or a finish in Briancon a la 2007. With regards to the Pyrenees, I think (just me thinking aloud, not based on any rumours or anything) we'll have the stage that's heavily rumoured in Andorra - no idea what's going to happen there but presumably they approach from the east via Envalira, then have a stage starting in Seu d'Urgell or somewhere in Spain and finishing in the Peyresourde area (somewhere like Loudenvielle), and then a stage to Luz Ardiden to finish it off as we haven't seen that since 2011 either. That said Aubisque has been conspicuously absent from the Tour for a while as well, so I'm sure they will want to find a way to slip that in somewhere.
Or of course they could go the full Zomegnan option: La Seu d'Urgell - Cantó - Bonaigua - Portillon - Peyresourde - Aspin - Tourmalet - Luz Ardiden

The Vuelta a Burgos wants to take the step up from 2.HC to the World Tour.
