Alejandro Valverde I can understand wanting to protect his podium position due to his age and dream of finishing on the podium of the TdF. Nairo Quintana though, on paper he has plenty of time to podium Grand Tours so why not go for broke if the opportunity presents itself.

correct..why it is damn hard to understand?
Fun Fact: 2nd and 3rd means jack shit when a rider like Quintana puts all their eggs in the win basket....
How is that so damn hard to understand?
Do not be worried..they try something against Sky.(it wont probably work).
Let's fuck attack our brains out..and will be dropped on final climb!!! How stupid can that be..
Or let Contador go..he is also spaniard let him take a podium place..he is nice person.
How is that so damn hard to understand? Come back to reality man..this is not the game.
I hope you are right that Moviestar will try something else than just riding for Team Sky... But it doesnt look good, it looks like Quintana is counting on Froome to have a bad day on a uphill finish and then strike there.
Of course Movistar and Quinana will try something, to think otherwise is foolish at best

How do you know he won't go for it? Still plenty of time to go on this stage and harder days to come

Not sure what all the fuss is all about. Anacona paced the group but did not come anything closer. Konig waited for Thomas then went to the frnot and immediately closed it down. Valverde attacked up to Contador but Konig was right behind him so no point in continuing.

Yeaah I knew also Froome at cobbles..
This year he let Tony Martin go..other wise he was capable for stage win also there.
Yeah sure. Only that he hates rain not cobbles. And on the RAINY stage of Plateau de Beille he was nowhere near to Froome 2 stages before that. Contador could follow his accelerations and so did Quintana. Now there's more fatigue than on stage 10. And Quintana recovers better than Froome

Porte poisoned Tejay's bottle so he can get the GC lead for BMC once he transfers.

If Valverde did really attack and not just bridge the gap to Conta he would have carried on |

Who said I was saying the opportunity had presented itself yet. I suspect they were probably protecting Valverde's virtual third place on the podium since he has less of an advantage both in time and physically over Contador.

But by doing so they help Froome and do bad for Quintana.... |

Hmm, not quite sure what the tactic is here for Movistar and Saxo. Sky easing off the pace and now they are stuck with guys six or seven minutes up the road and increasing.
Big game of poker - I guess Lotto or Trek may start panicking about 8th or 9th place soon other than that I guess Kruezig big 5 klick batter job? Or perhaps Astana power job?
Needless to say I feel as if they need to do something in next 15 to 20 minutes.
