No but Kenyan riders in yellow bother me indeed.

baseballlover312
It is weird that the reason a Kenyan rider is hated on is because he's Englsh, isn't it?

According to Brailsford, Froome's w/kg on Pierre Saint Martin only was 5,78, although consensus is among 'pseudoscientists' is it was 6,1 w/Kg which tend to be incredibly precise estimates.. much rather don't be transparent at all than half heartedly publishing a few numbers here and there (including cadence, like wtf, that doesnt tell jackshit anyways..) which really cant be used for anything and probably is bullshit.

Well, but trying be a little objective here, that is the case for the rest of the peloton as well I guess. The zero tolerance hypocrisy and the fact that they dominate races with riders who should be inferior climbers just annoys me. Do they just train, prepare, eat etc. better than the rest? Well, I guess thats a part (although small) of their success, but within marginal gains lies that they are only margianl and no matter how much marginal gains you add up, they doesnt get this significant.

Stromeon: I enjoyed you what you wrote on previous pages, I didnt know that. I thought that JV probably was the guy in the modern peloton who had the strongest stance against doping

But nitpicking aside, I'd love to see him in yellow but its becoming unlikely after the Corsica and Harrogate debacles.

As for Froome, he's clean until proven to be guilty. So long may he keep winning. If he's just a talented athlete then fair enough - you dont get people running to slaughter Usain Bolt, nor did you with Michael Johnson. You cant assume they're doping just because they're good.
Also theres something quite perverse about roadside fans abusing a guy for allegedly doping when there are rivals around him who have been busted for it in the past. Its all become a shambles and it makes a mockery of the sport.

Fucking Brailsford. Just a complete piece of garbage.

Gesink published his data from La Pierre-Saint-Martin on strava.

Gesink did betweeen 5,76-6,01 w/kg for that climb and Froome did 5.78 and still puts 1:33 into him?

Sky

He is just the fucking worst.

FroomeDog99
“For that 41:30, Chris had an average power of 414 watts, which gives a 1602 VAM. We know power Osymetric chainrings (used by Froome) over estimate power by about 6 per cent. That’s why it has to be considered when interpreting Chris’ power. With his weight hovering around 67.5kg that gives a correct power of 5.78 watts per kilo.”

- Tim Kerrison, Sky

https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/team-...m-stage-10

414/68 = 6.09 w/kg

Not sure about the osymetric chainrings?

cio93
Wait. Isn't "overestimating a power output by 6%" practically the same as "increasing your performance by 6%"?

If so, I'm very interested who uses those chainrings because they're basically riding a separate race then.

If not, I'm just tired.
