Having Vaughters spout his rubbish does make it difficult to like Garmin

Wow there are some good ones, this one is pretty funny
"Digger Smate Chris, I'm new to this page and a refugee from 50 years of F1 adiction with allthe political crap that entails. I' ve never seen a better SPORTSMAN and diplomat rolled into one, Win or not this year, stick with your standards. The Froome way is the right way.Sorry we can't be at the end to witness the triumph of a real man, in whataver position. XX"

Hey guys, I just remembered a Facebook account I made as Bob Bobson to play poker once. Let's see how long it takes me to be blocked from Froome and his wife.

Not to the extent of Garmin and Sky. They're the only teams that really try and force the idea of them being clean down everyone's throats. Of course others are in denial, if they're asked if they're doping they're not going to say yes, are they? It's just their rebuttal is not delivered with quite such hypocritical vehemence.
Are you really serious. I will guess you reside in either France or an eastern European country.
Am I right?
So belonging to the MPCC while employing doctors who are known to dope is fine and removing yourself from the MPCC the moment one of your riders is finally caught is fine. I could go on and on.
SKY is completely full of shit yes because of Brailsford but what has Garmin done that is so much worse than any other team, besides being American.
No you are in fact way off, I am British and have lived in Britain my whole life, as I had advertised in my location before the forum update made the location things disappear, and try very hard not to get myself sucked into the vortex of lunacy that is nationalism. I suppose I should take it as a compliment that someone believes that I'm French, I obviously have good tastes in food and drink
I never said anything in my post vaguely related to your random paragraph about the MPCC; of course those examples are to be frowned upon, I'm not sure where you got the idea that I believed them to be fine from.
Here's a little nugget for you. Go onto Vaughters' twitter page and have a look around. What do you notice? Ah yes, a marvellous quote: 'I've dedicated my life to anti-doping'. I hope you too appreciate the wonderful irony of this quotation coming from a man who rode for US Postal and admitted to doping as a pro.
My favourite Vaughters story (and there are lots of them) is the famous machine calibration error. When quizzed about Ryder Hesjedal's blood values for the 2012 Giro (which had been released to the public, this I applaud), specifically the fact that they appeared to rise in the third week, where he delivered his astonishing performance on the Alpe di Pampeago, not only beating the times of known dopers Ricco, Menchov, Di Luca, Pellizotti, Contador and various others, but doing so after what was possibly the toughest stage ever created in a Grand Tour, he blamed the suspicious values on a machine calibration error at the lab where they did the testing.
Now rewind back to 2009. Bradley Wiggins completes his miraculous transformation from finishing just behind Mark Cavendish about 4 hours behind Alberto Contador in the 2008 Giro by storming up Mont Ventoux, again late into the third week. Values are published, questions are asked, but no, good old JV assures us that it was a machine calibration error, there was nothing suspicious about this at all.
To complete the story, we then go further back, back when Vaughters was a pro. Vaughters underwent a pre-Tour medical test, the result: a hematocrit of 51%. And the reason for this: yes... you guessed it correctly, didn't you, another goddamm machine calibration error.
I hope you enjoyed the story, I certainly did. This is just one example of Vaughters' wonderful bullshitting skills. I do believe, however, that he does genuinely want cleaner cycling, it's just he, being a fairly pragmatic sort of guy, realises that being successful and being clean just aren't compatible in the modern peloton.

Surely if Froome is 'doping' then Greipel is too. He has been flying up mountains compared to recent years and fellow sprinters. On the flats he is totally unbeatable. Not saying either are as they both are NOT doping. Besides, the stage Steven Cummings won shows that Froome isn't 100% supirior. He oviously doesn't dope. |

Wow. Sure, Greipel may be doping (he's a pro cyclist so there's a bloody strong chance) but he hasn't flown up any mountains, Kittel and Cav in his prime were unbeatable, this year Greipel's been beaten in straight sprints. I'm not really sure what that stage shows, 'oviously' he's not 100% superior or everyone else would've finished outside the time limit but Cummings won from a breakaway and Froome beat all the GC contenders so he was superior. How the conclusion from any of this is that nobody is doping is not particularly clear.
