5 HC races, and 11 C1 races down - plus the odd point for a team in a C2 race - time for the 1st PCT rankings update of the season.
Victory at the Down Under Classic put Evonik-ELKO into an early lead, but it did not last long as Swedbank-PEAB built on their performance there at the Tour Down Under to take the top spot. Siam Cement - Lenovo broke the dominance of the categorised second sponsor teams as Sella's Tachira triumph then gave them the lead position.

Team Kenya Airways stepped forward after that, winning Barcelona Classic and the Tour of Eritrea, and the leadership merry go-round came to an end. With further scores in the month, they top scored in February.

Kenya still hold the lead now but a quiet March has allowed. Gazelle close the gap having also had a great February, while Team Puma-SAP's racing regime kicked in. Only CycleYorkshire had raced less than them by the end of the February, not that it stopped them ranking 15th, and now they have jumped up to 3rd.
Evonik and Karcher have also had a victorious month in March so far, which sees them both return to the Top 5 having been up there already earlier in the season. No race wins as yet for the PT relegating teams Aegon, Prio and Bpost but they are still solidly top half of the table in 6th, 7th and 11th. Amex, Eritel and Siam Cement being the other Top 10 teams.
So Evonik and Siam Cement lead the way for promoting teams, but a band of 4 of them are close together in the remaining top 15 spaces. CT champions Nutresa edge this little battle, from Bonsucro, Euskaltel and Bank of Ireland.
Turning our attention to the bottom shows 4 of the promoting teams in the relegation zone, joined by Lululemon - who don't yet seem to have learnt CSC-Orbea's lesson of bouncing back from the relegating PCT positions the previous season. They're not quite bottom, but only ahead of Eddie Stobart. cycleYorkshire, ONCE and Sauber the other 3 in the drop zone at this stage. RBC Pro Cycling were tipped highly but like last season are starting slow, only 24th.

Whichever way you look at it, Kenya Airways are the team of the season so far - they top the projected standings as well, the only team above 30 PPrD. Infact there is no change in the order of the Top 4, the first move being Bonsucro, shooting up to the promoting place of 5th.
Bonsucro are not quite the biggest gainer, with Swedbank nicely up 9 spots to 8th, while RBC also rise up - although only to 17th. Bpost on the other hand take quite a hit, down 11 to 22nd - they have raced more than anyone so far but it isn't showing. TomTom and Project Africa are also on the up, while Nutresa and Bank of Ireland slide down. There's a small change in the relegation spots: cycleYorkshire swap with Children of Chernobyl.

Victory at the Tour of Ukraine is the highlight of the season for Luis Leon Sanchez so far and it sees him to the top spot in the individual standings, just ahead of Tour of Eritrea champion Michal Kwiatkowski.
Surprisingly many big sprinters missed the FBD Eire Tour, but still Danilo Kupfernagel was somewhat of a surprise winner. With stage wins elsewhere too, he is placed highly in 3rd, just ahead of Jose Rujano - the Top 4 all pretty close at this stage.

Thanks for this update SN and to all who did report and help out with ranking points files!
I am a bit lower than expected and the projected rankings are not that nice neither.
The overperforming by Kwiatkowski/Kupfernagel etc. don`t help, when your own sprinter underperforms heavily. I have some hope, that this changes though and Groenewegen scores more than his 2 points at the moment.  |

11pts, 16 days, 300.000 wage, 80MO... Well done! 50k wage next year in CT or back to being unemployed, I hope...
Nepo and Prevar doing pretty much what I expected them to do, but that'll not be enough to save me I'm afraid, will need great races in Romandie, Bulgaria, Vancouver, Portugal and America... Not too optimistic...

This just confirms we are doing really well. I really hope it can continue, and Kwiatkowski and Impey especially can continue to win races as I would love promotion. Still very early though to see much in these early rankings.

Not placing a rider in the top 100 is not a good sign, though I can't say it's all that surprising.
Hopefully we can edge what looks like it will be a season long battle between us and Eddie Stobart to avoid the bottom of the rankings.
I would say I'll start planning next season's CT squad now but the truth is I made a rough plan before the season started, just haven't made a note of it yet. Maybe now I should start to get it down and start to work out some of the details of it.
Thank you SN for the update, it's nice to know where we stand compared to the other teams, even if it is as bad as we feared before the season started.

Cool to see Kenya and Gazelle at the very top, admittedly not the teams most expected, and it's not like they've done a lot of races compared to the others, as shown by the projected standings.
Puma-SAP looking solid and going steady for what is surely a top five finish, but they must fancy the title as well. Speaking of teams coming from the PT, the rankings really proves Bpost's bad start, and it must be worrying for Prio-Porto to see themselves in 7th place having used third most race days of all teams.
Also nice to see both Contador and Impey do very well, hope they can continue in a similar way and be of vital importance for Bonsucro and Kenya.

Well that is (much) worse than we expected before the season but better than I expected before I saw this ranking update 
Well we haven't had many leader racedays yet(except Vantomme who is up there in the rankings too).
In most of those we had we were fairly unlucky. Cobbles were shit so far and Vantomme won the Down Under sprint, but well, the break was ahead
I assume it can only be better.
Oh well we're above Bpost in the PPRD ranking so I guess we're doing ok.
Hugh is yet to start his season actually, and I have good hopes that his first race(ToSA) brings us an immediate loads of points.
Kenya very nice, Evonik too.
I'm afraid the bottom 3 will stay on those spots forever, except perhaps switching their own order

I hope we can survive... but it will be tough, was so happy about Rowe's performance in the Eire Tour but it was only worth about 70pts lol, need more points

After dreading the PpRD statistic all season long last year, we seem to bounce back
I gotta admit 15 of those 25 race days were with Ciolek, so our biggest potential points scorer is already a third through his season, and Kelderman isn't far behind with 12 rd.
On the other hand, our climbers and Demare didn't have many opportunities yet so there's hopefully something to expect from them rather soon.
March indeed was a busy month for us with only the Duo TT not being on our calendar iirc, and we'll be in 8 of the next 9 races as well, so we better keep up the scoring speed.
Aside from our own performances, the biggest surprises for me are BPost and TomTom being that far down in the PpRD rankings, although that includes Tachira for BPost.
Still, with the cobbles being rather random lately, that's not boding too well for them, while the feared trio of Prio, Aegon and Gazelle kicked off pretty good.
RBC need to pick up speed and give Intxausti a boost or they'll have a significantly harder time challenging for the top spots than I expected.
Kenya, Evonik and Kärcher are rather likeable teams to have around as company up there, they all certainly can't complain how things went thus far.
Finally thanks SN for compiling this and thanks to all reporters for the quick pace!

Kinda what I thought Nutresa would be as we have been churning out 20+ PPRD races reasonably consistently although with a couple of next to no-scores inbetween to take the shine off (bloddy Talansky!!). When I look at the projections though, I am a little confused - is this rankings 'til the end of Feb or through until all races complete? PPRD table list us as 30RD's, but I'm fairly sure we are at 40 RD's - might just be a typo (but then my feel of our point scoring thus far would be quite a bit off??). Anybody else similar?
Great to see some interesting teams like Kenya and Gazelle up at the top rather than blanket domination by relegated PT teams (although expect them to rise quickly, what's happened at Bpost though!), and that some of our CT promotion cadre also doing well, lead by Evonik with LLS being top point-scorer. We have no one in top 30, and our stage-race cadre severely under-performing; it's our puncheurs and utility men that are gathering the points thus far in general.

True, if this is through Gent-Wevelgem, we should be at 30 RD, not 25.

Being 14th in the current rankings and 13th in the predicted rankings is a good effort so far from the team. Valls and my climbing team doing well in the HC races so hopefully that will continue. Also hope our performances in C1 races improve. Should be looking at a solid first season in the PCT.

Projected standings corrected, so it is looking even better for Kenya Airways now!
Eritel have had some hit or miss races so far, but good to see is at home in a Top 10 position. Bibby 16th individually despite a shocking Ukraine, while it's great to see Berhane and Reguigui on decent scores.

Thanks for further response/update SN, although it was a happier story for Nutresa previously! Think projection is right about where most of the expert pre-season predictions placed us, although our standings on the pure points is where management hopes  . Tbh, either would be perfectly acceptable at end of season, I reckon we are a fairly mid-table outfit with not a dis-similar line up to many of our peers in terms of point scoring potential. A platform to build upon for the future was the goal, and 500 points in the bank is a handy start!
Having looked a bit more, Buff's position on the projection is another surprise, manager must be dissapointed, although BPost still stands out as the biggest anomaly. In the rider rankings, Koren the biggest surprise for me - has had a couple of great races that suited him, but will be astounded if he is still top 10, even top 20 at season end. The performances of Kwiak and LLS at the top of the table give me some long term hope as my two main development projects will end up with stats somewhere between those two guys when they max (although I think Kwiak has been carrying a wee bit of luck thus far!).
Said elsewhere, but also many thanks to the reporters for the cracking pace thus far in the 2015 season, TSM in particular as it feels like he has been posting results up to 3 or 4 times a day across the divisions at some points, astounding output!

Thanks to DubbelDekker for pointing out that the GP Kigali points were done incorrectly. Turns out there were more DNFs than listed in the report, I didnt spot this, and this led to some points being sent to the wrong riders and teams. Fix on it's way
