Oh yeah true, shit happens...
Plateau de Beille: 43:28, Marco Pantani. Could be fun watching Froome shit on that time. |

Also, this just goes to show how much better of a field this year's is compared to the pathetic field last year. Basically only Van Garderen and Valv were decent today. How it should be! |

Obviously Martin wasn't waiting for Martin, cause Hesjedal caught and past them.

Didn't watch stage but wtf Contador this is bad, very very bad.
He hasn't looked good upto today so today just confirmed he isn't in top condition, but in saying this the rest day always throws up odd performances the day after so I think it explains why some riders were so poor and others like Thomas, Gallopin, Gesink were strong. Things will change with the next mountain stages
Normally, I would agree with you. But, Nibali and Contador have been anything but impressive so far so I doubt it was just the rest day.
I totally agree with you, Contador hasn't looked good once in this Tour and Nibali has been off since he performed so well over the cobbles. I was just saying that some riders do have bad days after the rest day but it doesn't always explain bad performances

On the positive side, this could spark some crazy breakaways in the coming days. |

Well this stage gave us a lot of answers to say the least.
I'm impressed by Gesink and Gallopin, and shocked that so many of the top 10-contenders (Nibali, Pinot, Bardet, Peraud, Mollema, Uran, Rodriguez, Talansky) lost so much time.

If he matches Pantani on the Plateau I think every cycling forum will go into absolute meltdown

There will be some bigger names in the breaks for sure, should make for some interesting stages for the rest of the race

Froome's time was under 41 minutes today.
They are talking about the upcoming Plateau stage, not the climbing times of todays stage. First time up this climb in the Tour and after seeing it I hope they use it again
