@hoyle: Thanks for the kind words
@Manx/sutty: Guess it's time to admit that Avanti wouldn't have been that great without TMM. Anyway, since this won't be the last season of this story, sutty still has the chance to fight back.. maybe he can pick up someone like.. let's say Jack Bobridge, or something
@all: The NRS 2015 is over, but stay tuned for some more stuff from the Kiwi cycling scene (a short, but fun 6-round-series) and something more!

Great 4th by Edmondson in the overall ranking.
In especially as he is clearly riding with the weakest support team I guess.
You did a brilliant job with this series and it was great to read here and there (even though I unfortunately was not able to read as consistent as I had hoped). |

Did you notice his big win in the Melbourne to Warrnambool classic?
Thanks for the kind words. Always nice to see you stopping by!

Thanks for a great season and fun reading mate.
And yes young Alex did one step better in the game than in real life, where he lost out to Olly Kent-Stark.
He will be fun to follow, both in your next season and in real life.
Perhaps you should go hunting for a new jersey for that Euride Team and rename them SASI as they are called now I believe.

@clamel: Euride will be SASI next season, as in real life I'm working on the most accurate DB I ever had, so actually almost all teams/shirts will be up-to-date!

Teams Favorites [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_Horgan_zps0f4b22e9.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Sam Horgan (Benchmark Homes Team)
Will ride: Rds 3-6 / Key stats: FL 75, HI 70
Well known face from the NRS (riding for Team Budget there) and a strong allrounder, who will take the opportunity to grab himself the trophy. [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_NZL2_Barry_zpsjxf0n42r.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Daniel Barry (TotalPOS)
Will ride: Rds 1,2,4-6 / Key stats: FL 73, SPR 72
Also racing for Team Budget, Barry will aim for his home country's Elite Series this year. Skipping just one race, so amongst the top-favorites for sure! [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_Girdlestone_zps8952e244.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Keagan Girdlestone (Scotty Browns Vision System)
Will ride: Rds 1-3 / Key stats: MO 70, HI 72
South African born "new Kiwi" Girdlestone will soon focus on the NRS only, but racing a few events in New Zealand as well. Amongst the best puncheurs. [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_NZL2_EvansBrad_zps31b0442d.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Brad Evans (Calder Stewart)
Will ride: Rds 1-6 / Key stats: HI 72
A less familiar face outside of New Zealand, but considered as one of the strongest domestic cyclists. Evans will be a threat for those big names. [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_NZL2_Williamson_zps54fdd063.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]James Williamson (NZ Cycling Project)
Will ride: Rds 1-6 / Key stats: HI 71
Same goes for Williamson, who is aiming for the title as well. A solid puncheur and part of one of the stronger domestic teams, he can do something. [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_NZL2_Vink_zps26638c49.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Michael Vink (Scotty Browns Vision System)
Will ride: Rds 3-6 / Key stats: HI 71, COB 72
Winner of this Series last year (not covered in this story), Vink (another Budget-member) will race some rounds again. Maybe the best allrounder of all here. [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_NZL2_HooperA_zpsoptye0is.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Alex Hooper (Breads of Europe/AaP)
Will ride: Rds 1-6 / Key stats: FL 71, COB 71
Hooper is one of those strong men, who can benefit from their skills on challenging flat races and of course the concluding cobbled "Hell of the South"! [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_NZL_Roulston_zps4f89044b.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Hayden Roulston (Scotty Browns Vision System)
Will ride: Rd 6 / Key stats: FL 77, COB 70
This "Hell of the South" will also see one of New Zealand's most famous professionals lining up: Roulston will support the Scotty Browns there! [img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/15NRS_NZL2_Allen_zpsv9ijydsm.jpg[/img-l][img-l]https://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/NRS_Portraits/NRS_Platzhalter_zps31ed228a.png[/img-l]Jason Allen (Scotty Browns Vision System)
Will ride: Rds 1-6 / Key stats: HI 68, COB 67
Surely the strongest team in the Series, Scotty Browns will have another possible title contender in veteran Allen - solid allrounder.

Read the favorites preview carefully. You will find three of Team Budget's Kiwis there
(General note: it's pretty usual for some Kiwis to race some events on home soil, slipping into a local team's colour. So you will see some NRS riders here, too)

Interesting line-up, I'll be going for my man Hayden Roulston and Scotty Browns but overall I'll go for James Williamson, one of my favorite former PureBlack riders and current domestic riders!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

@clamel: Sure. Which PCM? 13 or 14?
@jandal: Glad someone knows Williamson He will surely hope for your passionate support then!
Elite Series NZL Round 1: Oxford BARRY TAKES OPENING ROUND AHEAD OF TEAMMATE ROSS
Team Budget's Daniel Barry (TotalPOS) took out the Elite Series' first round in Oxford, with teammate Nicholas Ross (TotalPOS) completing a huge 1-2 for the team. Fraser Hewett (Breads of Europe) completed the podium.
A challenging flat race made for some late action, with two possible title-contenders trying to solo away from the hard working bunch: Keagan Girdlestone (Scotty Browns) bridged across the early breakaway about 35km before finish, but the climber couldn't fool the peloton, which brought all escapees back with less than 10k remaining.
Cobbles-specialist Alex Hooper (Breads of Europe) then went for a late attack 6km to the line. A promising move, but his huge fight brought him "just" a still solid 7th place eventually: TotalPOS delivered top-favorite Daniel Barry the expected line honours, even though Hooper came really close to a solo-victory here! McCoy (Benchmark Homes) attacking early into the race..
Girdlestone launching his move 40km before finish, joining the early break..
..but the peloton - led by TotalPOS - looked in control!
Hooper then trying to escape late into the race..
..establishing a small gap on the still chasing bunch!
Cooper soon to be caught with less than 700metres to go..
..and top-favorite Barry delivered with a nice victory! #FINAL RESULTS
