One by one now:
- Qatar is going as planned. I'd like to see somebody from the team in a breakaway (maybe Voltali?), but as long as Grawunder stays safely in the pack so he can win the race in the TT, I'm fine Pfft

I hope so, too.

Strade? since I got no wildcard, I would be perfect to do this!(+high graphics as fuck) Please let me do it. It's one of my favourite races in the calender. Grin

Since Silvio and Cycleman both have a goal there, I'll happily pass it on to you (if Ollfradh is ok with this?)

Sure Pfft

And I can agree converting for 1 PCM11 reporter is a bit stupid Wink
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thank you very much. Do I have to do a preview first?(I guess so Grin) And since Strade has almost the same course through the years, can I take the variant with the best graphics?

Yes and you can moan about how much Kwiatek and La Bestia would have dominated Pfft
Nothing wrong with the standard one, route is more important than graphics.

Tour of Qatar - Stage 2

Welcome back to the highlights of day two here in Qatar. Will it be another stage for Demare, can Cavendish get his leadout right or will the breakaway steal the show? Today, the break was made up of Brändle (IAM), Förster (UHC), Roulston (AND) and Pomoshnikov (RVL).

i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/Dippofix/EPIC/2015-02-1614_29_12-Greenshot_zps05a714d4.jpg

With 90km to go, the gap was at nearly 10 minutes, but the peleton continued to take it easy...

i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/Dippofix/EPIC/2015-02-1614_31_22-Greenshot_zps27ed23d3.jpg

...but the peleton started working shortly after, and looked like catching them.

i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/Dippofix/EPIC/2015-02-1614_33_11-Greenshot_zps04521abb.jpg

But with 3000 metres left, Roulston was still the solo leader. The crosswinds made it too hard to catch him! He had a gap of roughly a minute on the severely decimated pack, with Förster and Pomoshnikov somewhere inbetween, whilst Brändle had been caught.

i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/Dippofix/EPIC/2015-02-1614_36_04-Greenshot_zpse850526f.jpg

In an unbelievably chaotic sprint, the same guys who were at the front yesterday eventually managed to catch Pomoshnikov and Förster...

i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/Dippofix/EPIC/2015-02-1614_38_08-Greenshot_zps8284b13c.jpg

...but Roulston, too tired to even celebrate, had already taken the win. Fantastic effort from him! Cavendish and Demare also make the podium, but will there be a time gap? There won't, say the officials. It didn't really matter anyway, since Roulston had lost too much time yesterday already. Demare stays in yellow, whilst he and Cavendish are now tied for points.

Once again not really any coverage of the sprint. Pretty sure only LLS cares about Roulston and there was no real mention of how well the sprint was going for anybody. Not trying to put you down, just some constructive criticism Wink

3rd, 5 in the Top25 and 6 in the Top26 Pfft We are certainly having a strong race so far in Qatar and i'm loving it. Also a fan of the short reports, the style works well. But on a close stage like that a bit more info would have been hugely boosting the quality

But yeah, criticism noted. Played most stages already, but will try and do so on the remaining stages. Wink

Well it's a race and it's worth points. Not to mention we're a sprinters' team. So yeah, obviously I care Pfft

Good to see Brändle in the break, but another no-show from Pelucchi isn't good Sad
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Voltali Feunard in 21st finishing best of the team looks good, but most importantly Grawunder is up there.

Oh and Team Classification is also nice Grin

Thanks, but that's not my first report, or do you mean specifically of this race?

Oops! Embarassed

I meant both because I haven't seen your reports before, sorry if you were offended. Great report nonetheless Wink

Now if only Drapac would do something in Qatar. It's dead flat which should suit us and yet everyone got dropped. Grieve-Johnson needs to redeem himself in the time-trial after finishing behind all of every team except An Post, while Anderson and Kerby also need to shine or else they'll find it tough getting race days later in the year.

Luis Leon Sanchez
A great stage win for Roulston making it number 2 for the team. Don't mind Kawasaki's performance considering we won the stage.

No problem Wink and thanks for the compliment, I only did 3 1 day races last year, so you probably just didn't see it.

Well, the 2014 season is in full swing, with Heimdal Hagg taking the first win of the year in the Tour of Gabon. Soon, it will be time to set our sites on Portugal, for the 40th edition of the Volta ao Algarve. Jose Manuel Marques won the race's inaugral edition in 1960 and Antonio Pisco won in '61, before the UCI enforced a break on the Volta until 1977, when Belmiro Silva won. Cassio Freitas was the first non-Portuguese winner in 1993, and in 1998, we had the first non-Portuguese-speaking winner through Czech Tomas Konecny.

i41.tinypic.com/jfx8qq.jpg
Kim Po-Ding won last year's edition, and now it's time for 2014.
