Because in the MG, the bidding is in real time and one can quickly move on to other targets or transfers if the rider they are interested in gets out of budget, rather than waiting 24-72 hours just to see if someone is out of my budget, by which time I might lose out on some of my other options as well.
You still have to wait 48 hours and last min bids are a known issue... In ICL, you learn the day after if your bid is good or have to increase. It's the same principle, just different execution.

My suggested solution would already make lower riders available earlier for min wage. I think it probably is also a fair between what Ripley suggested and OZrocker ?
About flexibly moving to other riders when missing out on a main target I thought that it could be a good idea to also be able to send in rider lists, so that if you miss out on the main target the system will automatically move down the list until it finds a rider on who you would lead. Good idea or no?

Here are my thoughts on Bikex suggestion.
I agree with the desire to be able to fill the team with researched lower avg riders and an early round for this would benefit keen researchers. This would work well with a list system to fill your team with a required number of riders from the list. Would need a process to resolve identical bids.
I would certainly like the list system for the higher avg riders as it would allow me to chase a number of targets without the risk of running out of time to get anyone.
Teams who are after multiple riders may need more than one list depending on the type of rider they are after.

I'm ok with lists, but then comes the argument of "he was #1 in my list for a 500 offer, why does he sign with team X for 505 when he was only their #5 target?" Whichever way we go, it should be ok so long as everyone remembers it's just a game

No, a wage of 910 (or 900 + x) makes a lot more sense in this example.
What's with the (or 900 +x)? The rider's been signed, we must have a definite wage. As for 900 or 910: Had Team B sent a bid of 850 and max 900 (rather than 950) and then Team A counters with 900, I guess B should get the rider because he offered 900 first. In which case it should also be 900 with a 950 max.
Unlikely to happen at such a high wage, but could happen with low wage riders. Being first with 100, max 120 should beat a later 120. That'd be a small bonus for spotting a rider first.
I agree there should be a definite wage, just wasn't sure if it would be 910 or 905
You do raise a good point about the first bidder, but I think that teams sending in a higher maximum bid would be prepared to pay more for the rider. In a real-life situation, the rider would accept the higher offer which that team is clearly willing to pay, so if the other team "drop out" at 900 his final wage should be above that IMO. If two bids are identical, then they go to the first bidder.
Think thats a solid suggestion from OZ. Lower tier riders will be happy that they get a contract. Perhaps it is not a hard cut but more granular. E.g Below 72 0%, below 73 10% etc.
Exactly what I was thinking. The % increase idea is good too.
TBH I only included the 300 number to explain what I meant, I haven't looked into how good 300 wage riders actually are!

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Yes! Note though: "If the rider has an average of over 71 or is already 23...[he] will also benefit from the U23 team but not as much as other riders."

Renewals done, that was tougher than I thought it would be. Some of the younger riders are getting more greedy...
Side note: Is anyone else getting delayed email notifications for PMs? I still haven't received an email for a PM that Bikex sent me more than 6 hours ago.

Yeah, PM emails are not very reliable, but at least it's 50/50 whether they work or not for me, unlike tracked threads notifications which haven't been working at all

Will there be a post-renewals DB, or do we have to keep track of which riders are released to free agency?

There will be a post-renewals db. Also during transfers you are not required to keep track of everything yourself, as the db in the transfer sheet I'll provide will be updated automatically.

I've started compiling a list of all riders with a contract in 2019 who are unsigned this year which I will post when renewals are done. That will include all the riders from teams which are disbanding as well, so long as they haven't retired. If enough people are interested, I might update it after each round of transfers.

There are still some teams that need to finish their renewals. I'd say a few more days until all are done.
After they are done we can directly jump into transfers.

Great news!
I'm excited to see how many teams prepared for the massive FA market this season by going into transfers with the most amount of available budget possible, and how that further increases the FA pool.

Nice, I'm getting excited for transfer season to start! Maybe I can properly plan things out this season, especially since now I actually know how season targets work this time

Looking forward to starting the transfer season soon. First season so have no idea what to expect or how difficult it is to sign semi-decent riders (in comparison to MG where I feel its quite hard as a new team)
