While I agree with you guys, it's so different with Sky and GreenEdge. They have ZERO climbers, very mediocre sprinters except Goss and just not enough in depth in general. With the squad they have they will never become a force in WT , only in sprints maybe and that's a big maybe. They'll have to buy (climbers, hilly riders ) to become decent, while Sky in first year had in depth team and great talents in many areas that would develop. GE doesn't have that imo.

Greenedge is like the inverse of Euskaltel. Both are incredibly one dimensional teams, one filled with sprinters, and the other with climbers.

The only difference is that Euskaltel has a justification (whether you agree with it is a totally different matter) for it.

Lazy peloton today. Great win for Clarke, now Champion System can say they have a World Tour stage winner. Pfft

Yes, this I agree with.

I am a little worried that maybe they will struggle for points come seasons end. I look at Goss and Gerrans but can't see anyone else getting many. However I shall still cheer them on and look forward to a very surprising Daryl Impey win in the TDF!

Theyve had more chance to gel than Unisa, who are performing better so far. Wink

The only gel required in a solo break is an energy gel. Not a fair comparison.

Tour Down Under Stage 3

GREIPEL Andre LTB 3h21'55"
HUTAROVICH Yauheni FDJ
BOASSON HAGEN Edvald SKY
RENSHAW Mark RAB
MCEWEN Robbie GEC
GUARNIERI Jacopo AST
HAUSSLER Heinrich GRM
BENNATI Daniele RNT
BELLETTI Manuel ALM
SUTTON Christopher SKY

Greipel does it again, although this time it was much closer. EBH caught the flat tyre with 6km to go, and finished the stage with it so that's particulary good result for him and the bonus seconds which should be of good help in Overall GC.

Somebody should tell Renshaw that he isn't a lead - out rider anymore and now he shouldn't start his sprint that early Pfft

Apparantely he was actually meant to be leading out Matthews, but Matthews lost the wheel!

So Renshaw's "Im going to Rabobank to be lead sprinter" plan has lasted long!

That should explain why he went so early then. Next time he should check to see if Matthews is behind him Pfft

Impressive by Renshaw to sprint that long in the wind and still manage a 4th. Was that sutton leading out EBH? Wasn't it supposed to be the contrary?

Yes, they swapped the tactics. EBH looks better than first thought it seems and adapted to hot weather. And every bonus second will count for GC. They will go for EBH now till the end, if EBH will be out of contention after Willunga then I guess EBH will lead out Sutton in final stage, otherwise the GC might very well be decided by the bonus seconds so EBH is the one for Sky now.

Rogers might be use as distraction by Sky on Willunga, he might as well attack first and then see what happens.

Haha, that was exactly what I was thinking, too Grin It took me a couple of seconds to realize there was a flaw in that thought Wink
