We have entered the last week of Pro Cycling Manager and obviously i have to do something fun.

Tour de Abandon is basically world's best cyclists trying to tackle 21 stages without crashing and being out of time limit. I'll post daily updates and we will see who'll win

Route


First week kicks off with a downhill stage from Fuji. Following that we have a windy stage in Turkish landscape in Konya. Hilly terrain in famous Nürburgring followed by the long Sanremo and the week finishes with a tough italian triple: Giau / Sormano / Zoncolan... As it isn't enough the weekend is in Belgium with Ronde van Vlandaaren followed by Liege Bastogne Liege.



The second week is mainly based in France. Starting with the Hell of the North. Another cobble in North France followed by Paris - Tours. A mountain double in France with very tough climbs, followed by a long time trial. A swiss stage settles the week.



A deserved rest in Zürich but the pain is back as the riders will climb 3 HC climbs. Then the route heads to Spain, first in Basque Country for hilly terrain and then basically 'on top of the world' for Bola del Mundo. The race is full of surprises and the penultimate stage being a TTT basically makes it harder, as it is in doubt how many riders will be left in teams.

It was a hectic race with many crashes and many withdrawals..



Jan Tratnik was the first one to leave the race, 5 kilometers in. Throughout the course, Gasparotto, Turgis and Ewan attacked and had a gap. There were many falls. The organizers have put only 7 minutes as the time gap.

Caleb Ewan also had a minor incident which put Gasparotto and Turgis to a sprint:

Stage 2 Recap - Aksaray - Konya

A windy stage on the menu for the riders as they prepare for the first flat stage of the tour.

The Stage

It was very slow out there and therefore ended in a mass sprint. An interesting exceptin but was fun nevertheless. It was Viviani who brought it home.

The GC didn't change much, but Brandle who was 5th before lost time after involving in an accident.

Stage 3 Recap - Nordschleife Nürburgring

A hilly stage with 3 kilometers averaging 7% climbed 12 times.

Early crashes meant Bizkarra and Coquard were out respectively.



Another big one, twice in one downhill. That means, Dupont, Rosskopf, Caruso, Van Garderen and THE YELLOW JERSEY Anthony Turgis were all out!

Halfway the race, crashes keep coming in, Consonni was also forced to be out, followed by Carthy, De Gendt and Trentin. The crashes weren't the only reason riders were worried, its about being over time limit as well, some riders seem to be struggling to keep up with the pace.

Alaphilippe attacked in the penultimate lap, bridging it with early break members Gallopin, Madouas, Wellens Rolland. The peloton cut down to 10 riders.



In the end it was Alaphilippe who won the stage ahead of Gallopin. The race was spread out to 48 groups at the time, with one hour in the time limit, who will be out of it?

Here we go, a long 300 kilometer race with a sprint finish expected. You never know what is going to happen now, though..

Oh no! Race started slowly in the first third, downhill of Turchino was a madness: Thibaut Pinot withdrew from the race in a crash involving yellow jersey Nibali.



Another crash in Capo Mele, and 4 good climbers said goodbye to the race: Aru, Martinez, Oomen and Reichenbach.



In the end it was a sprint finish and it was Groenewegen taking the win in front of Gaviria, Degenkolb and Ewan
