So reading the weekly news, I realised Ian still hasn't killed off Gormley. I guess I have no choice but to get back in to this again.

After TMM's half-Struibaai race report, let's leave it behind us. I think it's been enough and there's nothing new to be said anymore except more swearing and that's not really helping the game, I think. So let's move on, right?

It was a bit of an over-reaction on Elliots part. As it was put originally it seemed as if UCI had cancelled the race against the wishes of Coca-Cola who seemed to wish it to continue. This is what really caused Elliots quite extreme reaction.

It later seemed to go the other way round as if Coca-Cola were admitting their responsibility for not organising the race properly. I am not really sure what to make of it because from what I can see all the previous Coca-Cola races have been extremely organised, besides surely the UCI have a hand in the organisation of all races.

The real reason seems to be that there are some issues with the program for recording the the positions of the riders. It does seem a shame to cancel the only African race because of this. Indeed the one race in the Coca Cola cup that would suit Elliot the least - Elliot is a lot of things but he believes in the spirit of competition. A tainted Coca-Cola trophy win which does mean a lot to him would really hurt.

Anyway as you say time to move on and Elliot is likely to make the startline actually of the Lisbon race. I'm afraid he still will be an angry little blighter!

Lachy, Ronnie, Josiah and Tanē will all be at the start line for Lisbon.

Great to read TMMs report, although Mazzerelli and Lipawsky being lapped is kinda unlikely, especially when it's just 5 laps. But then again, I was expected him to end up in hospital so....

As you may have noticed (or not), I have made an attempt to write another story on the site. I just want to let you know: Cyclo-Cross: A New Dawn takes priority in my time table. The first 10 - 15 reports of the new story are already close to finished so I don't have to put a whole lot of time in them.

The pace of this game will continue to be 1 - 2 reports a week until my internship ends (in 2 - 3 weeks) and then perhaps slightly faster.
The reason the pace is low now is 1. my internship 2. the program that needs to be fixed. I'm not that keen to move fast and calculate the classifications manually

I think it's really ironic that this drunken, cursing, swearing peloton has the guts to criticize the UCI for canceling a race

And the race has been decided! Expect the report tomorrow or maybe even tonight. Luckily this was Superprestige so I could calculate the new classification fairly easy manually. World Cup would take a bit longer and coca-cola would be impossible
