Great to hear that, guys
Also, my brother managed to dualboot my good laptop with ubuntu so now I should be able to run the program for this game on my own laptop.
I'll test it out later but if it works, it would be excellent news! Here's hoping

Well, guys, the cyclo-cross season is almost upon us.
On the 16th of September, we have the World Cup cross of Las Vegas.
Which is great news for this game, I reckon.
In just over a day, I'll start this back up after a long break (can't believe how much has happened in those few months but anyway).
I'm prepared to make a commitment/promise here to get this game back up at full force, 1 - 2 races per week, the best quality I have to offer.
In return, I ask of you to make a commitment/promise to get back out there and fill the game thread with your amazing stories, insights, rivalries and friendships.
This game can't survive without the Vagues, Cooks, Mazzarellis, Lipawskys, Listerijns, Schiltzs, Hammarlings and many more
I am very excited to continue this and I think the start of the real life cross season will do this game good. I guess time will tell if there is still room for this game on this site, but I'm gonna go for it anyway
See you in about a day, with the report from Johannesburg!

Listerijns
Shush.
Anyway just read through this season again, great read from everyone really, it's a weird thing when all 20 posts on a page are great bits of writing. If anyone else does so, if you want see if you can spot some of my dumb jandal moments. They're everywhere
EDIT: Milan gets sixth billing

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Already writing the report now, so I can definitely release it tomorrow on time
One minor remark, though: Wow it's hard to get right back into it first few reports might come hard, but once I get back in the right mindset in this cross universe, it'll be smoother again. Shouldn't take too long!
Thanks for the enthusiastic responses! looks like we're back in the dirt!

Also, in Port Elizabeth report it says Goldenberg second Bollinger third, but in results (didn't check classification) it says otherwise. If it was meant to be as it was in the report (which from the rest of the sprint I think it is) you might want to fix that.

Thanks for noticing me about this, jandal!
It is, in fact, as the result says, with Goldenberg third. I'll fix it in the report.
Thanks a lot

CX:AND wouldn't be the same without the conspiracies against the Americans, the UCI screwups and the general complaint against everything Vague writes

Oh, and just because I feel like it. A sneak peak for tomorrow's race! Some words have been edited to avoid spoilers!
...Or is it possible the young rider has superlegs today?...
...He's all alone at the front...
...The climbs are starting to take a toll...
...it looks like he's hurt himself...
...he's nearing the end of this amazing work he's done so far...
...That's just not happening right now...
...There is the finish line....
See you tomorrow

Faizullah hurting himself on the climbs (I still pick him to win), not happening for Milan and then bloody Americans spoil my plans. Amiright? And besides, not many of the riders here aren't young Ian.... So that doesn't help Hoping instead though that its Milan all alone fighting, go get those bonuses!
Also think in the solo role a breakthrough performance by Osorio/Mutahi?

Hmm, find out tonight
Also, this might be a good time to inquire about what do you all think is a good pace for a game like this?
Just to get a general idea of the ideal pace I could try and follow.
So if you want, you can tell me what you think is the ideal pace (how many days between report and preview, and preview and next report)
Thanks

I'd quite like quality over quantity, and id take a good drama piece or detailed edition of the scope fortnightly or something, though maybe not even scripted would be good.
Maybe:
Preview
2-3 days, less if you have time, more if you need
Race
Anywhere from 0-1 days, though I'm not sure how these are to write
Preview, repeat.
Something to keep us hooked but enough time to deliver quality. Ultimately it's your choice but I prefer quality (WC, countless others) over quantity. If you have less motivation (?Sochi?) leave it for a few extra days or do a summary, and leave us to make what we will.
Anyway, with none of the Rio or Struisbaai drama (admittedly one was ours completely) I think something is cooking from Ian regardless .
Eeeek, just saw it says hurt himself, not hurting himself...

Err never thought I would say this but if I want to write something in the game thread every 3 races - as I was doing when I was actually active, the ideal pace for me would be max. 2 races per week.
Sadly although I would really really like to follow this game as I did till half a year ago, real life gets busier and busier
Ah and by the way, I'm super excited this is restarting

Agree with jandal mostly here.
And Reminding me about Rio and Struisbaii
Also, (unrelated) Two things I'm surprised we haven''t seen much of are too many injuries (looks like next race though ) and confusion amongst riders, could be interesting (just thinking)
I've made a new banner for Sylvain now, working on one for Pierre too.

Thanks for the answers. I had about the same idea, so that's good
Let's say I'll aim for 1 race every 4-5 days or so.
Quality above quantity, of course.
Just over 8 hours left.
I'm quite excited. The break has done me good. As I pointed out earlier, I might make a summer break annual, seeing as cyclo-cross is least interesting in that period. From September onwards, the real season starts and the few months after the cross season you still have the touch of it

Will be posted half an hour before I wake up So excited.
Made new banners for Sylvain and Pierre, from a combination of excitement, boredom and how bad my old ones were,
Just realised it was a national series, would really like to see Pierre to do well, or maybe Ferdi.
