Be a country like Morocco that isn't well known for cyclists, and try and go 100% nationalistic and win the PT, signing youth riders.
I think Morocco doesn't have youth riders
But I had a quite similar idea and did an all-African custom team led by a certain Mr. Teklehaimanot
I created some known African riders like Grmay, Teklit or Reguigui (thanks SN for Rapha Condor ) and signed Dan Craven and some other Africans (although I left out the South African guys like Impey or Hunter).
As far as I know, Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Tunisia produce young riders, so there will be some talents to sign for the future.

Within the first season win the first 2 of the 5 monuments. Try to win the Yellow and Green Jersey in the same Tour. With Sky getting worldwide recognition, try to promote British cycling even more. In the transfer period sign more than 75% British riders and gradually get 'rid' of your big international talents and depend on results from all your Brits.
EBH is fed up with doing all the job for Cav. Whenever his contract is up he will leave the team immediately, don't renew his contract.
It's probably not the best scenario, but it definitely makes the game interesting and fun to play as one of the bigger teams.
I will try this scenario, and post how the season went in this thread.
EDIT: And by the first 2 monuments, do you mean MSR and RvV?
Not really, 2 / 5 monuments in the season. MSR, LBL & GdL are Sky's best shots. Good luck mate
Now isn't it just funny how you exclude in the 'best shots' the only monument so far this season where Sky got something better than 19th

Unsure if I'll win a monument in the first season, I'm going to need quite some luck to win 2. But GC wise it is looking quite good.
I'll post updates as the season proceeds.

Can't say this went as planned. Wiggins fell and punctured from victory in Paris - Nice on the last stage. Flecha was injured in Gent - Wevelgem, and missed Paris - Roubaix and RvV. Uran was injured in Pais Vasco and missed the Ardennes. Can't say this is motivating me...

This is nice idea
-What about winning all the monuments with Sagan in one season, lets say till 2014? I dont know if it is possible (hard, extreme). Obviously P-R would be the hardest one with lower cobble stat, and L-B-L would be hard too.

With some luck, this is absolutely doable.

Froome and Thomas has done well though. Froome won Tirreno and was 4th in a tough MSR. Thomas was 3rd in E3, 10th in RvV and finished 3rd in Roubaix after a successful breakaway.

A nice team to play with is Team Europcar, get Rolland in top 10 in the Tour, Voeckler can also surprise.

I started a save some time ago, that I completely forgot about, and it might be interesting for others too.
Austria has a two very promising riders in Denifl and Preidler. Create a custom team ( 0% ) with Denifl and Preidler as team leaders. However, if you find this too difficult you can sign either Rohregger or Eibegger, or even both. Österreich Rundfahrt has to be won every year during the save. Do a podium in a GT in minimum 5 years, and also win a monument during those 5 (GdL is recommended). And you are only allowed to sign Austrians, a good scout is very recommended.
I have reached 2018 and can post how I've been doing if someones interested.

I'm very interested to hear about that!

A little typo there, I've actually reached 2021, I had reached 2018 when I started playing on the save again. I don't have any screens of the previous squads, but will do my best to remember how the races went. Will see if I have time to post it tomorrow.

Would you mind showing some screens from 2021? i've never reached that far, it would be interesting to see who the best riders are, etc.

Yes, of course. I'll do a complete review tomorrow.

Very nice approach. But how do you afford a good scout? You have basically no money and I guess you don't earn much in the first season with price money.

I edited the balance when I started the save. It is hard enough to find good riders with a legendary scout, so if the save was to last I had to have a good scout.

The team started out as Erste Cycling in 2012, with the vision of developing young austrian riders. I chose .4 rider development and random potential. Preidler, Denifl, Brändle, Schöffman, Konrad, Schaller, Hofer and Hrinkow were the riders I started out with, the rest was scouted riders when creating the team. I was very lucky when picking youth riders, as there were 4 riders I couldn't scout, one of them was Matthias Huber. I decided to take a chance and select the last four riders, which was a very good decision. But I will get back to that later.
The premise of the save, as already mentioned, was to do a podium in 5 years and also win a monument. On previous saves I had never cared about the "Exploits" found in the Archives, but on this save I decided to go for as many as I could. I also decided to go after Coppis 5 Lombardia victories.
Here is a short summary of my accomplishments so far:
Note: some of my previous riders has retired, so I might not remember their results.
2012
Tour de Langkawi
- 1st - Denifl
- 5th - Preidler
Tour de Mediterraneen
- 3rd Denifl
Tour of Oman
- 2nd - Denifl
Österreich Rundfahrt
- 2nd - Denifl
- 10th - Preidler
Giro dell'Emilia
- 1st - Denifl
Japan Cup
- 1st - Denifl
2013
In 2013 I did my only 2 signings during the career. Both Rohregger and Eibegger were signed, to speed things up a bit. But as both of them has retired I won't look through all of the races to find their results.
Tour de Langkawi
- 3rd - Denifl
- 5th - Eibegger
Etoile de Besseges
- 1st - Eibegger
- 2nd - Denifl
Österreich Rundfahrt
- 1st - Denifl
Brixia Tour
- 5th - Preidler
Giro del Piemonte
- 1st - Preidler
Japan Cup
- 2nd - Denifl
It doesn't get very interesting until about 2016/2017 as I decided not to do any GT before I knew I could do a podium. I wasn't interested in spending numerous hours to do top 10s. I'm also considering writing a short story of the concluding season where I plan to do a GT treble with one rider.

I'll just cut to the chase, and list our most significant victories.
Giro d'Italia
Georg Preidler -
1st 2017, 2019
2nd 2020
Matthias Huber -
1st 2020
2nd 2018, 2019
Tour de France
Georg Preidler -
3rd 2018
4th 2020
Matthias Huber -
1st 2020
Vuelta a Espana
Georg Preidler -
1st 2017, 2018, 2019
Giro di Lombardia
Matthias Huber -
1st 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
Stefan Denifl also has a lot of top 10s in the smaller tours, and has won Tour de Romandie in one occation.
My Team before the 2021 Giro:
Is there any interest in me doing a story where I try to win all three GTs in one season with Huber?
