As posted on the World Championships thread, I've now launched a ManGame Betting system on the website. This can be found on the right hand side of the screen, below the main betting system.
This will be trialled during the World Championships, with a view to being more regularly used next season.
Volunteers will be needed to help create the odds - I note that jph, Avin and SotD indicated interest in the 2015 Suggestions thread. Since the startlists are available for the TTT, ITT and RR for the Worlds, perhaps someone can create some odds for that?
To start with, there are 4 bets for the B World Championships.
Winner: https://pcmdaily.com/odds_mg.php?game_...?game_id=5
Best CT rider: https://pcmdaily.com/odds_mg.php?game_...?game_id=8
Best Danish rider: https://pcmdaily.com/odds_mg.php?game_...?game_id=6
African Head to Head: https://pcmdaily.com/odds_mg.php?game_...?game_id=7
For any non-MG managers interested in taking part in the betting, I'd suggest taking a look at the DB in order to get an idea of the stats of the riders involved: https://www.dropb...s.xls?dl=0

If I have the time for it I'd help out with the odds at the end of the afternoon. In any case I'd happily help out with the odds throughout the next season. Think that with three divisions an extra helper could not harm

Yep, the more helpers the better.
I'm not sure if there will be a way to allow non-admins to add bets (and at the moment even the admins can't, except for me), but creating the odds is the more time consuming part of the process - and that's where help will be needed most.

Great idea.
Nice to see that Uugunbayar is listed there, but considering his season a bet on him would be suicidal.
I'd also happily help out with some odds, though I'm not sure how realistic I'd make them.. |

Great idea.
I hope that we can take this idea by the end of next season and maybe in future seasons as well.
Above all I hope to be more accurate in these bets than the real bets where I have been a disaster

I love these bets! This is great!
Now I've bet too, so Razzie has to win!

On another note, one problem that may come from this is that a reporter who knows the outcome of a race beforehand could play the system and win big money.
I have faith that we're all good people here and the honor system should work, but it's worth noting since similar things have happened.

Fantastic news. I'll try and work on 3/4 bets for the TTT this afternoon, and see what people think
One query is with regards to when bets will be posted during the regular season. Obviously we don't always know when reports will be posted, especially in races with 2 reports a day. How will we work around that?

Well, the winners of a bet get listed in the betting overview so others could see if that would be the case which would help dealing with that
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

@bbl Fairly confident that won't happen, but if it did, it would be very easy to take those winnings away.

Either through co-ordination between reporter and betting system, or just simply have the bets sufficiently in advance.
I plan to set up a private subforum for those helping with bets to give advanced info on startlists - so odds can also be created in advance. The odds would then be available to bid on for a race before even the discussion topic is created. Or we just change the scheduling of discussion topics so that they are posted further in advance of the race reports, to accommodate betting chat.

Very cool new feature!
Will also help with getting to know the (PT) riders better and following it some more, which is very cool.
@Mars
Nice. I guess you'll need to look in the MG DB then though, because without it it will be very hard
If you want to know a bit more quickly you can also just read the MG FAQ ofc

Think I'm going to focus on making bets rather than betting from here on in. 1/4 bets won and a net loss of 11 shows I'm pretty bad at betting |

Is there a chance to get the MG $ also being shown on the profile part of every post?
I guess it`s just visible for MG members at the moment so also this new bit could be? |

Seeing as I don't have my PC, I can't help making odds unfortunately. But I will love helping throughout the season

Well the MG betting page is viewable to everyone on the site, if you were wondering about that.
It probably wouldn't be hard to add it to profiles/posts, if that would be a good idea.

Red Bull H2H love that bet. Really cool feature and could lead to a lot of interest in races that perhaps previously only may have interested participating managers.
Should be great fun!
Cannot access bets at work of course as it is seen as real betting
