Stage Tutorial

By: NTTHRASH | Average Rating: 3.86 | Game version: PCM13
STEP 1(Optional): GPX files
Using an online site, download a route that you want to use. Open the editor, and using the "read bounds from gpx" box, navigate to the downloaded gpx file. Do NOT change the numbers. Once the terrain loads, the right sidebar is your next target. Navigate to the second of four tabs, and click it. This should produce new sidebar text below. Using the bottom button, renavigate to the gpx, and open it. This will display a black line that indicates your route.

STEP 2: Roads
In the left sidebar, click the icon that looks like a road. Zoom in on the start of your route. Place a road point using the right click, and continue this along the route. At intersections(if you want intersections), place a road point elsewhere, and connect it to your current road. Now, you can fool with the settings of the road points in the right sidebar.

STEP 3: Routing

In the left sidebar, click the icon that looks like a green flag. Go back to the start of your roads, and begin placing route points inside the road points. NOTE: This doesn't need to be done at every road point. Remember, you need two kilometers at both ends of the route to allow for start/finish areas.

Don't forget to save this!!

STEP 4: Errors
In the margin, under the next to last submenu, select "Check Stage". This will list all errors. Hit go to see the errors, and you can fix them manually.

STEP 5: The Route Sprints
In the margin, under the route tab, select sprints. This will display new right sidebar text. From here, you can place sprints along the route, as well as name them and select their parameters.

STEP 6: Route Info and the Podium
In the margin, under the route tab, select Route Info. This will display new right sidebar text. From here, you can adjust the stage parameters. NOTE: If making a time trial, leave the time gap slider at -1. NEVER set it to anything but -1 on time trials. In the margin, under the Podium tab, select podium. From here, you can place the different podium styles.

Some other stuffs: Things to know!
Profile camera shows the road as it would in the game camera, and allows you to edit cobblestones.
Spline description creates climb info sheets. Enter the Profile View using the self-declared tab, and go to Profile-->Spline Description. Set the red arrow(bottom of climb) and blue arrow(top of climb), then in the right sidebar, name and add the segment. SAVE YOUR WORK.
Fields and forests are very simple when you want to build them. Just click their icon in the left sidebar, and right-click boundaries for the field/forest. That adds a lot of scenery for very little work.
In the right hand margin, there is a checkbox called "spline". When you get to an area of different road width, uncheck "spline". Then, move up/down the slider "voies", and, if desired, reengage "spline", but take note that you cannot change individual parts with "spline" checked.

Very interesting indeed.

Couple of questions: "STEP 1(Optional): GPX files
Using an online site, download a route that you want to use.
" (1) Which online site(s)...? Are there specific online site recommended? And (2) where do I find the 'editor'? What's the editor?

@3 Bikeroutetoaster and the stage editor is there when you open the game, on the launch menu.
