TDF v PCM - Stage 2
Stage 3 - Dunkirk to Gent Marcel Sieberg, Ruben Perez and Cedric Herve were today's breakaway. They were caught with 3km to go. A mass crash took out or stopped most of the field, and Steegmens beat teammate Boonen to win.
SNDeluxe 2 real pieces of realism today: Cedric Herve attacked at one point (but was soon caught) and there was a mass crash near the finish, including Mayo and Kloden. Mayo was forced to abandon, along with frenchman Freddy Bichot. Yet again Cavendish (81 Sp) was working for Eisel (78 Sp) and I have no idea why. Anyway, the sprint was a 2 horse race between 2 men in blue. Neither where Boonen or Steegmens. 1 Erik Zabel TEAM MILRAM 3h47'20 2 Heinrich Haussler GEROLSTEINER s.t. 3 Thor Hushovd CREDIT AGRICOLE s.t. 4 Bernhard Eisel T-MOBILE TEAM s.t. 5 Stuart O'Grady TEAM CSC s.t. 6 Francisco Ventoso SAUNIER DUVAL - PRODIR s.t. 7 Robert Hunter BARLOWORLD s.t. 8 Oscar Freire RABOBANK s.t. 9 Robbie McEwen PREDICTOR - LOTTO s.t. 10 Tom Boonen QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC s.t. 11 Filippo Pozzato LIQUIGAS s.t. 15 Romain Feillu AGRITUBEL s.t. 17 Gert Steegmans QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC s.t.
GCT Ruben Perez was today's realism as he made the break. The down side for him was that he spent the day stuck inbetween the peleton and the 13 man break. They were caught and in the sprint many big names were too far back, leaving another win for Mr. Zabel. A win at the first intermediate sprint leaves Hushovd 4 seconds off Yellow. 1 Erik Zabel TEAM MILRAM 3h42'03 2 Daniele Bennati LAMPRE - FONDITAL s.t. 3 Stuart O'Grady TEAM CSC s.t. 4 Francisco Ventoso SAUNIER DUVAL - PRODIR s.t. 5 Robert Forster GEROLSTEINER s.t. 6 Oscar Freire RABOBANK s.t. 7 Tom Boonen QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC s.t. 8 Thor Hushovd CREDIT AGRICOLE s.t. 9 Alejandro Valverde CAISSE D'EPARGNE s.t. 10 Alessandro Ballan LAMPRE - FONDITAL s.t. 12 Robert Hunter BARLOWORLD s.t. 13 Gert Steegmans QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC s.t. 37 Romain Feillu AGRITUBEL s.t. 40 Filippo Pozzato LIQUIGAS s.t.
Real Name As in SNDeluxe, Cedric Herve was today's realism, making it into the break. De Jongh gave Boonen a perfect lead out for the sprint and unlike Steegmens, he pulled away allowing Boonen to win. In the picture below, you are able to see Steegmens celebrating. 1 Tom Boonen QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC 3h42'38 2 Oscar Freire RABOBANK s.t. 3 Thor Hushovd CREDIT AGRICOLE s.t. 4 Robbie McEwen PREDICTOR - LOTTO s.t. 5 Erik Zabel TEAM MILRAM s.t. 6 Francisco Ventoso SAUNIER DUVAL - PRODIR s.t. 7 Tomas Vaitkus DISCOVERY CHANNEL s.t. 8 Steven De Jongh QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC s.t. 9 Daniele Bennati LAMPRE - FONDITAL s.t. 10 Stuart O'Grady TEAM CSC s.t. 18 Filippo Pozzato LIQUIGAS s.t. 19 Gert Steegmans QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC s.t. 23 Robert Hunter BARLOWORLD s.t. 79 Romain Feillu AGRITUBEL s.t.
very cheeky issoisso, but i'll tolerate it (not sure Sporting will) as Cav hasn't shown anything yet this Tour, mainly down to bad luck though
but you can see from his earlier results that he can be a top sprinter, as long as it wasn't a fluke (surley not 4 flukes against top competitors, though)
