First Gameplay Screenshots!
Pro Cycling Manager 2014

As some of you will have noticed yesterday, the first official gameplay screenshot for Pro Cycling Manager 2014 has been released. The cyclists look much the same as ever, but continuing their theme are emphasising the British aspect of this year's Tour de France, Cyanide have chosen a view of London - featuring Tower Bridge, the London Eye and Big Ben as new isolated buildings.

And today the latest devblog has been released, focusing on the console Tour de France 2014 game. The blog talks about the 'teamcom interface', which will give players more control over what the rest of the team is doing. Some work in progress screenshots can be seen in our screenshots section.

Changes to tempo management and the feeding system have also been announced.

great photo but no news

I'm not sure I like all this console news. I don't think it makes for an attractive game, to be honest. I'd rather race with 1 rider and having to listen to the DS (except maybe when you're a Contador or another team leader) or have the game let you be the DS and follow the race passively but having to make a lot, a lot of real time decisions.

Surely the other generic-looking city buildings are new as well if I'm not mistaken?

Thanks for the update SN! I missed the console game news. Since I am definitely getting it this year it is great to have an idea of how it's going to look.

The PCM buildings, I could pass on.

Looks great but same story as everytime; no BMC as far as I can see, no real equiqment.
The graphics are nice and London seems to be shown quite realistic.
It's a pity that amazon.co.uk is of the opinion that the game is for Windows 98 Grin Back to the roots, heh?

Definitely not going to buy PCM14. To be fair, I lost all faith in Cyanide.

After bring confronted with no co-sponsors, no working RES stat, and a unexplainably inaccurate and disfigured fitness planning system in PCM13, I feel cheated and I felt like demanding my money back.

When comparing PCM13 to PCM11 it feels like the game only got worse in all aspects except for the slightly better graphics in PCM13.

It looks like all Cyanide is after is milking the series as much as they can with payments for online play and a console ripoff. I have lost all faith in the idea that they're actually trying to make PCM a better game.

It's a shame especially when you see that Eugen, another small-time French developer from publisher Focus, is in fact successful in releasing a quality PC-game with high recognition.

I'm really hoping for Cycling Manager Evolved to turn out well. But I am definitely going to be careful with buying that. For now, I'll stick to PCM13.

I wish they could release the game at the start of the season, and not in the middle of it. Then we wouldn't have to download all these DBs etc.

#6 - And strange that many consider PCM 11 to be viewed at such a high standard, compared to 12 and 13, while coincidentally that was the first year that the Armada mode came out.

I think the same thing happened with Fifa to an extent.

Well it might be related but for me, the main thing is I don't play armada at all. I'm not biased as in 'Ever since Armada PCM is crap and everything before was awesome'.

For me it's exactly the three points I mentioned that make PCM11 a game that is at the very least equal to PCM13:
-No working RES stat in PCM13
-No co-sponsors in PCM13
-PCM 13 Fitness planner seems completely off and broken

Woo graphics... Nice to see we are back at PCM07, now in HD Shock

New graphical display for the Teamcom Shock Probably the best designed part of the game just got updated, yay...

That said grouping teammates so you can assign orders in less clicks is a good improvement, but there are bigger things the console games needs to deal with. Primarily justifying it's ridiculous price tag when it is no more really than the 09 XBLA title which cost like £5 (and is more fun, which is a little sad...)
