You have waited, waited - and perhaps waited a bit more than you should. But now, we're ready to announce the creme de la creme of PCM.daily Members in the year of 2012.
We had 26 awards this year, divided into three categories: Cycling Awards, Management Game Awards and Site Awards. In total, you pressed the vote button no less than 2,416 times - but despite that, some awards ended up very close with several being a tie.
With those facts, it's time to reveal the winners. Drum roll, please...
Thanks to emmea90 for the award bars
Cycling Awards
Grand Tour of the Year: Vuelta a España
There was never really any doubt that the Vuelta would come away as the winner this year. You agreed - or at least 66 % of you did - making the Spanish race the GT of the Year.
Grand Tour Stage of the Year: Vuelta a España: Stage 17
And this stage is probably one of the reasons why the Vuelta took the previous award. This stage went straight to the historic books thanks to the heroic attack of returning Alberto Contador - and with 45 % of the votes, it was enough to secure the win ahead of the Giro's 20th stage.
Stage Race of the Year: Paris-Nice and Tour de Suisse
With each getting 32 % of the votes, the French will have to the award for Stage Race of the Year with Tour de Suisse.
Classic of the Year: Paris-Roubaix
How exciting is it to see Tom Boonen solo to victory with a full Sky team chasing him to no avail? Exciting enough to get you the PCM.daily Award for Classic of the Year. The Hell in North got 34 % of the votes in a close race that also involved Milano - Sanremo that got close with 27 %.
Team of the Year: Sky
Hardly worth elaborating on the success Team Sky had this season. 61 % speaks for itself anyway. Closest competitor was Omega Pharma with its 22 % of the votes.
Surprise Rider of the Year: Moreno Moser
Peter Sagan took it last season, and his team-mate Moreno Moser takes it this time around after his major breakthrough, especially remembered for extraordinary performance in Tour de Pologne.
Rider of the Year: Bradley Wiggins
It did get somewhat close - Joaquin Rodriguez ended up 2nd with 26 % - but with that being said, there could be only one winner this year: Brad Wiggins.
Management Game Awards
Race of the Year: Tour de France
Madrazo and Cunego, the two best GT riders of the game, fought it out in a fair, but brutal battle. That's now been rewarded with an award.
Team of the Year: Vesuvio - Accumalux
SportingNonsense's Vesuvio team dominated the ProTour and was dominant in the votings too where the team got 47 % of the votes.
Manager of the Year: SportingNonsense
As a manager, though, there was never really any question about it. SportingNonsense takes this award with 60 % of the votes.
Site Awards
Site Initative of the Year: The Stage Database
It was a close race between this year's all-new feature the Stage Database and oldies such as the Management Game, but in the end the Stage DB just edged out the win with 24 % ahead of the ManGame's 22 %.
Forum Thread of the Year: Café Pedro 3 and 4
Being allowed to talk about everything seems to be popular year after year. The Café threads take take the win for the 2nd year in row.
Avatar of the Year: Alakagom's
While he may have cheated a little by being nominated for a whole series of avatars, you can't take away from Alakagom that he had avatars that certainly pleased the eye. 39 % of the votes got him the win.
Funniest Screenshot of the Year: Degenkolb Wins on a Motorcycle
It got the by far most amount of nominations, and it also ended out with an easy win after getting 55 % of the votes.
Betting Champion of the Year: ikaros33
Ikaros crushed the competion on his way to the betting crown and ended up having more then 28.000 PCM$ when the season ended.
Graphic Artist of the Year: fcancellara
After a few years of unexplained absense, the Graphic Artist made its comeback in 2012 - and the winner is the multi-talented fcancellara after getting more than half of all votes.
Stage Maker of the Year: Pellizotti2
While emmea90 have taken the victory in the first two years of the award's existence, it's now time for a demise of the Crown as Pellizotti2 takes over wth no less than 49 % of the votes.
Jersey Designer of the Year: Will007
Consistensy is paying off for Will007. Year after year he returns in January, making his amazing jerseys based off the new team kits that always show up at this time a year. This is his third award in row in this category.
Database of the Year: PCM.daily's 2012 DB
It'd be more surprising if we didn't win this award at our own site. But hey, we appreciate it!
Download of the Year: Lachi's Editor
Lachi returns to winning form with this award. His editor also took the prize back in 2010, and with 48 % of the votes Lachi's Editor is a clear winner again this year.
One-Rider Story of the Year: A Tale of Two by Ian Butler
There wasn't much doubt in the members' minds when picking the winner in this category. Ian's untraditional story got 42 % of the votes and can therefore claim the title as last year's best One-Rider Story.
Team Story of the Year: Petronas - Monster Energy by dienblad
Most stories barely make it through the 1st season - well, this PCM11-based story is in 2014 and has reached more than 200 pages of reports, comments etc. And while Pellizotti's Marseille story did get close with 35 % of the votes, it wasn't enough to beat Dienblad's story and its 41 % of the votes.
Story Writer of the Year: Pellizotti2
He may have missed out on the Team Story award, but getting the overall in a hotly contested fight more than makes up for that. Just one vote differentiated Pellizotti2 from 2nd placed Ian Butler and two votes from dienblad.
Admin of the Year: Alakagom and SportingNonsense
Both the winners of this category have had plenty of stuff to do over the past year and are rightly rewarded for their continous effort for making PCM.daily a nice place to be for everyone.
Most Helpful Member of the Year: lluuiiggii
In an overwhelming victory, taking 64 % of the votes, lluuiiggii is rewarded for his constant, almost 24/7 service in the technical part of the forum, not to mention the fact that he's making what's probably the most downloaded databases of the PCM community.
New Member of the Year: Ian Butler
Having been already awarded with Best One-Rider Story, it's no surprise that Ian would also be in the contention of winning the New Member award - especially considering his many posts (of which some are useful, despite everything) and other great stories. With more than 50 % of the votes, the members have spoken with a very clear voice.
Member of the Year: lluuiiggii
Our Brazilian friends runs away with two of the most prestigious awards. Having already taken care of the Most Helpful Member award, he also runs away with Member of the Year after receiving 40 % of the votes and winning ahead of Pellizotti2 (21 %). Make no mistake: It's thoroughly deserved. Always helpful and certainly multi-talented. Is the main and driving force behind the PCM.daily Databases and can also do stages and graphics to some extent. Add to this his always great mood (who wouldn't be when living in Brazil?) and you've got yourself a Member of the Year award.
