PCM Fan Day reveals "screenshots"
Pro Cycling Manager 2012

Yesterday, Cyanide arranged a fanday in the company's headquarter in Paris where fans could get a chance to come and try out the upcoming Pro Cycling Manager 2012.

Thankfully it seems that the participators have been allowed to share some details from the day, and photos from the event have surfaced on Cyanide's Facebook account - one revealing the new race interface that has been mentioned by the team in previous interview (see below).

One forum member mentions that the calendar has been changed. You now have to plan your season earlier - e.g. registering riders to races - and as we already knew, it's possible to do recon on stages. It's also mentioned that the stage profiles now look more like the ones we know from Tour de France graphics/design wise. Minor change, but pretty cool.

A few race changes are also mentioned. For example, you can ask a rider to try to maintain a certain position in the peloton, e.g. you can ask Cavendish to place himself at around the 20th position. It's also possible to monitor the distance between to riders - handy feature if you are in yellow and want to keep a close eye on your rivals.

Looks like a very nice change, but.

Did they talk about about manager mode - one of the most important parts to update in the game and we still have no news whatsoever about it ? ... Jez.

Are there any forum members actually working for Cyanide? I remember I saw some names of jersey makers from PCM.Daily in the credits.

There's a lot of community members who contribute, e.g. with stages and jerseys, but they aren't hired by Cyanide.

Yet again Cyanide tries everything in their power to make it look realistic... But gameplay, no way.

We want a MANAGER game!!!

Kinda just looks like a slightly different layout (the old layout) with a different colours (gui interface)

That one pic of Career mode looks strange. Like its windowed inside the actual game.

Curious about the maintain postion feature if it actually works how it is supose to and the distance tracker. But I was hoping for a better layout. Like valv321 said it looks like they just changed colors and moved stuff around. None the less I will still be buying the game like I have done for the past 3 years. Wink

Aaaahhh....so the stage profile defaults to the bottom left under the riders names this year. So, that's what they've been hard at work on the last 12 months. Pfft

Do like the idea of extra options when planning your season now though and the tweak to the maintain position command could be quite good.

"you can ask Cavendish to place himself at around the 20th position"

FINALLY!

I really don't like it. the new interface looks different, not better. I don't even like moving the default profile to bottom left, it evades in gameplay. So, why?
#11 | Avin Wargunnson on 17. May 2012 05:40
The new interface looks good but nothing overwhelming. I hope the box with the profile is moveable, as the bottom left corner is not great place to have it for me.
What i liike the most is that mention about holding the specific position with a rider, that could be useful, because now i must control the position all the race.
But we need deep manager part changes, that is the worst part of the game for years! But new options in race planning should be cool too.Smile

And as Valverde points out, the last picture is strange, only the box as the part of actual screen Rolling Eyes

I hope they didnĀ“t forgott CTRL+U.........Smile

Not sure I like the rider actions menu going right from the riders menu into the race footage. And what if we're going to have a bunch of riders relaying in the front, will that make a bunch of menus poping up and occupying space? I dislike the fact that Cyanide spends time (I hope not that much though) with re-designing GUI (which really doesn't matter much). And worse, they announce it as one of the features of the game (when it should be nothing but a new graphical detail) Frown

The changes look nice to me, but what an interface, really love it! Shock

Anyone else notice the 'Goldeneye 007' reflection on the laptop?
