Cyanide/Focus officially announce cycling games
Pro Cycling Manager 2012

Several interviews have already been published about Pro Cycling Manager 2012, and while we did know Cyanide planned on a new version of its Tour de France game for XBOX and Playstation, neither of the two games had been officially confirmed by Focus.

Well, that has been changed now.

Both have been confirmed in a press release by Cyanide today. The press kit also comes with the official covers, logos and info sheets of both games. Nothing really new is revealed, but there's five screenshots of the Tour de France game.

It does appear, though, that Cyanide have revealed the new "play mode" they talked about in one interview:

"Brand new multiplayer mode with scheduled competitions to challenge friends online. Assemble your dream team by collecting rider and equipment "cards" and fight for victory in intense multiplayer games!"

Multiplayer on the console sounds like it will be good, but I cant help but think it'll be really bugged and laggy.

Claim the top step of the podium in the most prestigious races in the world, like the Vuelta, the Giro, the Tour of Australia and the granddaddy of them all, the Tour de France.

New multiplayer mode sounds like Fifa Superstars...Don't know if that's really a necessary game mode, but maybe it'll be fun. I still don't know if i should buy this game...I guess i'll wait for some first impressions again.

Still missing the words "complete overhaul of the management part" though...

on superstars it is like just have cards and not playing
on ultimate team your players are cards but you play with them on pitch

it is a good ideia because FUT has many fans and some morrons put money in that mode for pack cards
so i wont be bad for cyanidea mode like that

so for xbox/ps3 they have now an online mode,but they don't say how much players can enter in a room
still 1vs1?(2 players)

probably i buy the ps3 version and dlc euro 2012,but at the end of year maybe and pcm 2012 or maybe more soon,all 3 on my birthday

Also Cyanide: please get a native English speaker to proof-read your English translation. Whilst the English is technically correct, there's some words and phrases you use which are slightly...odd

First they say it's prestigous, but they can't even call some prestigous race like that the Tour Down Under. At least they didn't call the Giro the "SuperGiro".

It's amazing to see Cyanide trying to take out great features where they simply don't exist Pfft (obviously not only Cyanide does that).

Not sure. Maybe you can select your riders to go and ride the stage. Then you will have some sort of advantage?

Best explination I could think of, I have no idea what it is...

maybe the recon feature will be like the stage viewer...
i like the idea of being able to ride NC's outside of career..

still waiting for a major management upgrade though

The feature was mentioned in PCM.daily's interview:

Another interesting new feature of the career mode is the possibility to go on route reconnaissance before the grand tours, or plan for example team time trial training camps to improve the team building before a race.
