Third terrain pack released by Cyanide
News

The third and probably last terrain pack for the PCM10 stage editor has now been put up for download.

This pack makes it possible to use the terrain data from the entire Canary Islands, New Zealand, Nepal and parts of India, Bhutan, China, South Korea, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile.
Click here to see a map of what parts of the world the pack is covering.

Awesome! Smile Some important areas races wise, and opens up some fun possibilities aswell

Nepal and China ... could this mean Everest? Pfft
#2 | Johan92 on 11. February 2011 18:41
No, there are some problems that high and Cyanide couldn't fix it.
#3 | SportingNonsense on 11. February 2011 18:48
Thats a shame - but nice to know that they tried.
#4 | Christer on 11. February 2011 18:51
Is there a similar map of the entire area that is no available?
#5 | tsmoha on 11. February 2011 19:10
Yeah! Good news Smile Finally Tour of Wellington/New Zealand is possible!
#6 | FreireCyanide on 11. February 2011 20:04
unfortunately there are bugs with heights > 6300m +/-
#7 | valverde321 on 11. February 2011 20:28
Well more asian races= awesome!
#8 | Waghlon on 11. February 2011 20:55
6300m?

A shamefully low height. But I'll survive... Grin

Dem downloaded and installed, and yet a stage route for Beijing fails to work
#11 | roturn on 11. February 2011 22:22
Awesome. new Zealand was the country i was waiting for the most.
As soon as my exams allow, i will definitely make some NZ races I rode by myself Grin
#12 | Waghlon on 11. February 2011 22:27
BikeRouteToaster got road info over Nepal. This is the happiest day of my life ever.

And so in addition to missing off Beijing from China, theyve missed off Mumbai from India - the home of the 2 new 1.1 UCI races!

So dissapointing
#14 | armagetronmv on 12. February 2011 08:20
A little remark Embarassed The very first pack included Mexico but only one square is missing and... it's one of the square needed for vuelta mexico Sad

Anyway, thanks a lot Wink

Delhi doesnt work in India. So I think its misleading to claim India is in the dem pack, when the majority isnt, and it is impossible to make any of the few UCI races that actually take place in India
#16 | roger_94 on 12. February 2011 18:06
sportingnonsense: Does any of the files work for you? Sounds weird that Beijing isn't working.
#17 | SportingNonsense on 12. February 2011 18:57
Yeh, I have a working file in the Shanghai area.
#18 | roturn on 12. February 2011 19:00
Did anybody already tried New Zealand North and South Island? Can`t test as I am not at home for some days. I already created many gpx files for this area, but if it`s also not working this wouldn`t make sense Grin
#19 | Johan92 on 12. February 2011 19:14
It seems from the map that Beijing is just missed out from the pack.
#20 | SportingNonsense on 12. February 2011 19:19
Yeh, thats my conclusion from looking at the map. Its madness.

Roturn: Auckland and Dunedin work for me, and theyre pretty much at opposite ends of NZ, so you look safe
#21 | roturn on 12. February 2011 21:57
Thanks for the test. Don`t need both towns for the first ~20 stages Grin
But as you said if both of them are working, then probably also the rest in between.

Beijing and Dehli are of course unlucky but still much more areas to build now then before.
#22 | valverde321 on 13. February 2011 03:45
To me it seems like they left off the needed .dem files for the best locations.

-High categorized races like the Mumbai races SN spoke of
-The coolest places like Everest, and Beijing not to mention half of Japan, when they say all of Japan
-And most importantly, for all the stages I want to make. Frown
#23 | Waghlon on 13. February 2011 21:16
... half of Japan? What?
#24 | valverde321 on 13. February 2011 21:20
Ok, yeah it was an exageration, but still. Rolling Eyes
