Stage making for PCM has never been easy, and for the same reason, there's always been a lack of them. Earlier this year / last year, we saw the consequences of this in the 2009 DBs for PCM08 as only very few races were updated to its 2009 route. E.g., only the Giro d'Italia, made solely by Johan92, made it to the final version of PCM.daily's 2009 DB for PCM08.
But this year is different. Although there's still a lack of stage makers, it looks like we will get to experience the 2010 Grand Tours in PCM09. Why? Because of a unique cooperation between stage makers across the communities. E.g., 10 stage makers are currently involved in the making of the 2010 Tour de France, while another 9-10 stage makers are working on the 2010 Giro d'Italia. Plenty of the stages have already been made - so, there's reasons to be optimistic.
Anyway, the point of this news article is to support this great collaboration and make the remaining stage makers aware of it and hopefully team up. You can read more about the Giro project here and the Tour project here. It's primarily in French, but it should be pretty self-explanatory. And if you ask, people will definitely help translating it to English. |
