An amazing Paris - Roubaix has just ended, and in the aftermath of that race we present this week's news for you :)
Surprising Roubaix result proves our users wrong Today, our Paris-Roubaix ended. Not very surprisingly, Fabian Cancellara was awarded the title as "top favorite" for the race with 36 % of the votes. On 2nd place came Tom Boonen with 28 %. But with the surprising result in real life I can only say one thing: 91 % of you were wrong. Only 9 % of you said it would be another than one of the ones listed, and with the victory of Stuart O'Grady that was the right answer ;)
Our new poll is a site poll. Since the website opened we haven't really focused much on what the users had to say. In the new poll you can give your opinion on what we, the crew, should invest more time in.
Crommy joins the crew To help us with the above, we have managed to get Crommy into our crew. Crommy is 16 years old and from England - and for us, it's of course always great to have a native English speaker. Crommy will help us with new initiatives and article writing which will focus on introducing the basics of cycling and PCM. We will for sure see some interesting things from him in near future.
World Championship finally to get started This week, the groups for the World Championships were drawed. Each group has 10 players - 5 of them will proceed to the next round. The games are to be played next weekend.
France is the best represented nation with 11 players followed by Poland with 7 players (it's worth mentioning that the organizer is from Poland which explains the high number of participants from that country) and Italy with 5 participants. No players from Great Britain is represented at the official World Championship.
If you've registered the championship, remember to keep yourself updated with the Cyanide topic: http://www.cyanide-studio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=51232
Futuristic database released The 2nd futuristic database has been release The first one was the 2012 DB which we commented in the 14th edition of our Weekly News. The new one is the 2nd version of the 2009 Database and includes a new set of teams. Some of the old teams stll exist, but most teams have been replaced by new ones. For example does CSC still exist and has been reinforced with the signing of Thor Hushovd. The calendar is still pretty much the same as the original one, but you will find new races, for example the Tour of Scotland.
You can find the DB in our Historical DB-zone.
Final version of Rasmu89? After a few more patches, Rasmu89 seems to have finally released the FINAL version of his database. The pack has ended up at an amazing 288 MB size which should include everything you will need, including photos of all riders, an amazing (and I mean amazing) amount of graphical addons.
We do not currently host the pack, but we will very soon. I promise.
That's all I have for now. I know it's not much, but you just have to live with it ;) Next week, the Weekly News will be presented by another crew member for the first time since I'm in Berlin from the 19th to the 23rd.. Take care. |
