The Tour is getting closer and closer, and so is Pro Cycling Manager 2009. We've been posting a lot of news lately, but we've also skipped some - or saved them for Weekly News ;)
Cyanide presents track ladder As already mentioned previously, Cyanide won't let us down this year - we'll get the track ladder this year. No further details had been posted, though - at least not until today. On the new forum, which we mentioned early today, the beta tester Electrocutionist has posted a link to the new ranking page. He's also posted an overview of the points given per race - check it out here.
Prizes for Cycling Manager Online Beta As you probably know, Cyanide is currently working on Cycling Manager Online. The prizes are still yet to be announced, but Focus has now confirmed that they are giving 2-3 free download copies of Pro Cycling Manager 2009 to the winners of the game.
The prizes for the actual game is still being discussed, though.
Help out Cyanide: Translate the DB Editor Cyanide is releasing a simple editor again this year in addition to the Advanced Editor which is already fully compatible with PCM09. This year's simple editor will have more functions, though, so even newbies can create new riders and teams.
To make it even more easy to use, they're having it translated into several languages. French, English, Dutch, Norwegian, Italian, German, Danish, Spanish and Portuguese are already being taken care of, but if you speak a language which is not one of them, and if you're interested in translating the editor, read this thread.
Scandinavian DVD version delayed According to PCMGeeks, who've asked KEMedia, the Scandinavian publisher, the Scandinavian DVD version has been delayed from the 29th of June until the 1st of July. This is due to the fact that the production of the game simply isn't done before then.
So, for the Scandinavians, it might be worth having a look at the download version that we mentioned two days ago.
Doddy13 joins the crew He probably should have joined a long while ago, but for whatever reason, he wasn't added until yesterday: Doddy13 has joined the PCM.daily Crew. His main focus will be in online gaming which is a quite natural step, considering the fact that he's the one who's keeping the TeamSpeak service alive. That said, he'll also help out on other areas, just like all other admins do.
PCM.daily looking for Database Team Although we haven't fully given up on PCM08 just yet, the first work on a PCM09 DB has started. The idea is that we're able to release a DB on the day of PCM09 release - not a Real Name DB, but an enhanced DB with a few more teams, races, updated stats, and much more equipment.
For this, and future DB projects, we're looking for members for our Database Team. We're especially interested in stat makers, stage makers and graphic artists, in fact anyone who's talented enough. If you feel like teaming up, send me a PM.
Yet another new game from Cyanide For those having an iPhone, it might be worth checking out Cyanide's first game for it: iSurf. a game which "allows the player to ride gigantic waves and attempt breathtaking acrobatic manoeuvres". The game uses the iPhone's accelerometer and touchscreen for controls. It costs 3 $ and has been mentioned on a lot of websites.
Speaking of Cyanide and other games than PCM, Blood Bowl, which is said to have huge potential, is now available for download pre-order (like PCM). It costs 49.99 € - may be available cheaper with an American ip? - and can be bought from this website. |
