We've been getting a lot of questions on the Download Version of Pro Cycling Manager 2009 - and we haven't really been able to answer any of them since there's been no official information on it,. Now, the buying page has opened, though!
As expected, you'll be able to play the game on the day of release. In fact, the DL-version will be available before the CD version. While you'll have to wait for the shops to open on June 18th, you'll get your serial key sent to your e-mail at 00:01 (GMT?), 8-10 hours before most shops open.
Updated: As always, there's different prices depending on where you live. It seems like that the Danes get the price in $ (39.99 $), while the Brits have to pay 29.99 £. I haven't been able to test for all countries, but the Dutch people have to pay 44.99 € which probably also goes for the rest of Benelux, France, etc. This means that it's actually cheaper in some countries compared to others. So, for those who'd like the American price, I recommend using Hotspot Shield to get an American IP
There's no information on number of re-activations, but for those in doubt: When you run out of activations, you can always request a new key, and you'll be given one within 1-2 days. Neither is there any info on which languages that are available in the DL-version. It'll probably be possible to enable all languages by editing a file, should the DL-version not provide them all.
The pre-order page also reveals the minimum system requirements: OS: Windows XP SP2/VISTA CPU: PENTIUM4 2.2GHZ/ATHLONXP 2200+ RAM: 1 GB Video card memory: NVIDIA GEFORCEFX 5900/ATI RADEON 9600 Disk space required : 6 GB DirectX®: 9
So, if you're interested in downloading the game, head to this website, and pre-order the game. This will make it possible for you to download the game and install it (meaning that you can start making changes to it too if you like ;)). You won't be able to play it until you receive the serial key, though. |
