Fantasy Olympics: Road Race Update
Fantasy Olympics

Samuel Sanchez has won the Olympics road race ahead of Davide Rebellin, Fabian Cancellara, Aleksandr Kolobnev, Andy Schleck and Michael Rogers so it is time for the first rankings update for the fantasy Olympics.

As Kolobnev was a late selection for the Olympics, he did not feature on the rider lists but the rest of the top 25 were all available for selection. 5 teams has Samuel Sanchez on their lineup so it is no surprise that they make up the current Top 5. Of those 5, 2 also picked Fabian Cancellara and thanks to the inclusion of Christian Pfannburger aswell, Team France go top with a 28 point lead over Team Schleck93.

The best team to score without having Sanchez was Humle's Olympic Team, who is in 6th after Andy Schleck, Pfannberger, Niemiec and Leipheimer all scored points. This was the only team to have 4 points scorers in the road race.

I hope that Schumi will have with Bodrogi and Cancellara a good TT , when not , he isn´t Schumi

I thought he would like to win that but he had "Headaches" so he dropped , I thought he could do a good race and a good TT Angry

The Winning Team is 39th with 2 points and Team EPO has got 0 points

#12 | mb2612 on 10. August 2008 04:07
French domination, yay
#13 | schleck93 on 10. August 2008 08:01
Now that I actually lay in position of may winnig, I've been wonderring, do the winner actually win anything but the honor?
#14 | MrContador on 10. August 2008 18:21
I have to say I was really unlucky. Paulinho didn't start, Contador was a teammate, and Menchov didn't do well.
#15 | jamsque on 10. August 2008 18:32
I did better than I was expecting in the Road. Leipheimer was a cheap pickup and he's put me all the way up in 27th by himself. Menchov and Voigt did me no favours, but Menchov may redeem himself in the TT. Anyway, what I'm really waiting for is the track racing. Let's see three gold medals each for Hoy and Wiggins, please.
#16 | Levi4life on 10. August 2008 20:59
I think its funny that my team is higher up than Matts team when the only real difference is his Wildcard is Alejandro Valverde and mine is Jason McCartney:lol:
#17 | Wiggo on 11. August 2008 11:11
EPO Don't work!
#18 | trueatfirstlight on 12. August 2008 06:03
My total is incorrect. I should have 380pts. I wasn't given points for 9th place finisher Michael Barry! I mean, I *am* team Blame Canada after all. Wink
