Just like every year, we want to ask the community to consider joining the navy PCM.daily Database Team, in order to help us complete our future projects - namely, the 2018 DB for PCM 2017 - in the shortest time as we can. We've of course noticed some of you being understandably frustrated by how much it took for 2/3 of the projects that came out in 2017 to be released. We therefore ask anyone who feels motivated or skilled enough to apply for a position in the database team.
Last year, we stressed that we mostly needed graphic makers. This time around, we're going to accept applications by anyone that feels like they could lend a hand and that is willing to prove us that they are going to help.
The different kinds of profiles we'd like to see join the database team are the following:
Database Makers
If you're eager to get your hands dirty by editing different aspects of the database file itself, whether you're experienced or just very motivated to help, then maybe you should take this chance up and apply for a position. We're short in actual database editors, so if you know you'll be able to help, you are definitely going to have a chance to do some important work and have a relevant role inside of the database team.
In particular, people that would be ready to work on the palmarés for the 2017 season would be very welcome. If people split the work up, it's not going to take a long time, at least it didn't in the past years.
Graphic Desginers
Jersey designers in particular are welcome to join the database team if they have enough time to work on the jersey packs we prioritise before releasing the db. What you might be asked to do includes:
• Creating 2018 jerseypacks (main jersey, NCs/WCs and accessories) for the teams in our database • Creating accessories for the teams in our database (that don't have them yet) • Creating NC jerseys for the teams in our database (that don't have the necessary ones yet)
In your application, do please include a sample of your work.
Stagemakers
It's not necessary to be in the database team in order to help out with stagemaking, obviously. If you've noticed Selwink's post requesting stages to be done, and would prefer not to feel the pressure of being in the database team itself, you can still do some good by contributing as a 'freelance' stagemaker there.
If, however, you'd like to be more involved with everything that regards the stagemaking department of our database team, which for instance includes decision making regarding which races can be in the database, you can consider applying for the database team.
How do I apply?
You can apply for a place in the Database Team by sending a PM to matt17br with the following information:
• Your motivation for joining the database team • Your expected availability from now to the rest of the year • An example of your work if you want to apply as a graphic designer or stagemaker • Your Skype username (we use Skype as our main means of communication)
Thanks everyone for the attention and happy new year! |
