It's now time to reveal the winners of this year's PCM.daily awards. We've seen some of the tighest votes in the awards history, resulting in a total of 4 tied categories! There is the usual mixture of defending champions and new winners, congratulations to you all. Well done to everone else who received nominations, and thanks to all who voted.
The winners are revealed below, and I have also posted the full results into each thread in the Awards subforum.
Cycling Awards
Rider of the Year: Alejandro Valverde (38%). Runner-up: Alexander Kristoff and John Degenkolb (26%) Surprise (Rider) of the Year: Tom Dumoulin (44%). Runner-up: Julian Alaphilippe (23%)
Team of the Year: Movistar (34%). Runner-up: MTN-Qhubeka (31%) Grand Tour of the Year: Vuelta a Espana (42%). Runner-up: Giro d'Italia (38%) Grand Tour Stage of the Year: Vuelta a Espana, Stage 9 (33%). Runner-up: Tour de France, Stage 20 and Giro d'Italia, Stage 16 (27%) Race (non GT) of the Year: Tour de Suisse (29%). Runner-up: Criterium du Dauphine (24%) Stage (non GT) of the Year: Eneco Tour: Stage 6 and Tirreno Adriatico: Stage 5 (34%). Both only 1 vote ahead of the other nomination.
Classic of the Year: Gent - Wevelgem (50%). Runner-up: Paris - Roubaix (17%)
Management Game
Manager of the Year: roturn and SotD (25% each) A tie in this category for the second year running, again including roturn. tsmoha was only 1 vote away from making it a 3 way tie as well! All 3 amongst the most active managers in the game.
Team of the Year: Evonik - ELKO (32%). Runner-up: Festina-Canal+ (28%) With promotion in their first PCT year, Evonik just edge out Festina, who finally secured a PT title.
Reporter of the Year: tsmoha (65%). Runner-up: roturn (15%) tsmoha retains his title here, in a well deserved win. The speed of the last season has a lot to thank to tsmoha, who took on a lot of races when nobody else was able to do.
PT Race of the Year: Giro d'Italia (50%). Runner-up: Paris - Roubaix (21%) Non-PT Race of the Year: Tour of America (47%). Runner-up: Tour of Eritrea (17%) Best Team HQ of the Year: Bouygues Telecom (27%). Runner-up: DeLaval - Kiiitikori and Oz Cycling Project (23%) Another close MG award, with Crommy's humorous updates being just enough against Delaval and Oz.
Site Awards
Best Forum Thread: Cyclo-Cross: A New Dawn | Game Thread (27%). Runner-up: Your cycling (21%) Best Avatar: Ian Butler (35%). Runner-up: baseballlover312 (31%)
Best Story Writer: Ian Butler (38%). Runner-up: tsmoha (25%) Ian can't stop winning, as takes this award for the second year running.
Best Team Story: Fantasy Neutral Story by mpardo and Team Novo Nordisk by Sutty68 (28%) Sutty's story just keeps on going, and becomes the first team story to win 2 annual awards. This year it is a joint win though, with mpardo.
Best One-Rider Story: The Two of Us by Ian Butler and Mresuperstar (35%). Runner-up: Nairo Quintana by Jakstar22 (24%) It's a joint win of a different kind here, as Ian Butler and mresuperstar's collaboration helps them both win this award for a second time - with their two-rider story.
Best Forum Game: Cyclo-Cross A New Dawn and ICL (32%). Another tie!
Best Site Initative: Management Game (45%). Runner-up: Fantasy Betting, PCM.daily Expansion Pack and Remember when? (12%) Best User Project: bikex / ICL (33%). Runner-up: Ian Butler / Cyclo Cross A New Dawn (29%) No separating them for the Forum Game award, but here bikex is given the edge, in recognition for his work on the story game.
Best Jersey Designer: bwiggins (35%). Runner-up: aidanvn13 (24%) A new winner this year, as bwiggins takes the award ahead of last year's winner aidan.
Best Graphic Artist: the_hoyle (50%). Runner-up: OlegTinkov (38%) A repeat victory for the_hoyle, this year with an even greater vote share.
Best Stage Maker: Margh Norway (36% each). Runner-up: tsmoha (27%) A competitive contest this year, and Margh Norway becomes the outright winner after sharing it last year. tsmoha narrowly takes 2nd ahead of toto40.
Best Database: PCM.daily's Expansion Pack for PCM15 (66%). Runner-up: JESGD 2015DB (16%) Best (non-DB) Download: Lachi's Editor (53%). Runners-up: Jacky Durand's Sponsor kits (31%).
User Awards
Member of the Year: matt17br (26%). Runner-up: Ian Butler (24%) Our big award, and it was very close. matt is the victor, by a 2 vote margin.
New Member of the Year: jandal7 (79%). Runner-up: DiCyc and Tamijo (11%) For the second year in the row, the New Member award has the winner with the largest vote share. This year it is jandal.
Admin of the Year: roturn (38%). Runner-up: Jesleyh (22%) roturn's hard work across various parts of the site is recognised here, 4 years after he previously won the award.
Most Helpful Member of the Year: matt17br (73%). Runner-up: Jesleyh (16%) If you're looking for a key reason for why matt has won Member of the Year, look no further than this award, with a clear victory here.
Funniest Member: SSJ2Luigi (35%). Runner-up: Smowz (32%) Yet another close award, with Luigi winning by 2 votes over Smowz.
Most Missed Member: issoisso (31%). Runner-up: Jesleyh (26%) The most 'popular' award with 98 voters, many of the nominations have been active on the site during this year, but the win goes to isso - twice a Member of the Year here in the past - who last visited in 2014.
