Features of PCM.daily DB revealed

We're still on track for a "before the end of the Tour de France"-release of the PCM.daily DB, and today, we've decided to reveal the feature list and list of teams. It's not the final feature list, but on the other hand we don't expect to add a whole lot of new stuff.

In short, the PCM.daily DB will feature 80 teams, 27 new races and several variants (changing routes) for some the largest races. We're not including the usual US and British teams due to lack of PCM11 races, but we expect to add them in an add-on later on.

Stages-wise, we have decided only to use stages made especially for PCM11. This means that we have fewer new races compared to the DBs for PCM10, but on the other hand, there's no AI issues (in PCM10 stages, the AI teams won't know when to bring their leaders forward, which means that AI team leaders will often be caught behind).

We'll be updating you with more info and perhaps a few screenshots over the next couple of days, so stay tuned.

Nice! Will the sponsors give more money than the original Cyanide sponsors? It's almost impossible to get a continental or pro continental team to ProTour because the sponsor money is fixed. It won't matter if you complete all the objectives...

Can't change that, unfortunately.

It's quite realistic, though. If you sign a sponsorship contract, it's usually not being changed (budget wise) until the end of the sponsorship.

I'm not so sure about that. I can see Europcar sending some more money the team's way next year Grin

I'm just wondering, are you thinking about putting any races from Norway into the DB? Also, could you say something about where the new zones will be? Will you add new countries or will we see more zones in existing areas?

Lastly; great work with this DB, I'm really looking forward to seeing the final result.

In the features list you mention two DB's 2010 and 2011 national champs. Will the pack also include the posibility to play with the original equipment same as for the last couple of PCM.Daily pack? Just for those of us with weak hardware.

I've browsed teams list and it's really good! Actually I'm quite surprised (but happy!!) about including teams like Bank BGZ, ISD and Itera (hooray Eastern Europe!), guess you had to fill up these few Central/East Europe races Wink

Just one little mistake - I can't believe you didn't include D'Angelo-Nippo team, which is, by far, the best continental team, according to CQ-ranks. Not that I care about them, but looks like mistake Wink

Keep up making this game playable, CrueTrue and team, great job, looking forward for release!

Great news! We swedes doesn´t have many bright moments in cycling these days. A comfort would be the inclusion of Team CykelCity in this fantastic DB. I for one would be very grateful if you could do this small favour to your neighbours.

#7: No Norwegian races have been made, probably due to lack of .dem-files. We did include Johan's National Championship, though.

Scouting zone-wise - it's MrDemus who's taking care of it, so you can follow his thread in order to find out what's being changed. So far, he has activated the scouting zones that Cyanide left unactivated.

#9: ITTs for AUS, COL, POR, RUS, UKR, DEN, CZE, POL and SWI -- RR and ITT for GBR and NOR.

#10 / #12: Perhaps a few days after the release, but the "shipped" version won't come with an equipment-free .cdb.

#15: You're right. It would probably be wise to include D'Angelo. I'll see if I can find some time for it.

#16: No chance Wink

Perhaps not for the first version, but for second: how about changing the decline age for the riders?
E.g. Cadel Evans, Samuel Sanchez and Hushovd are at least as good as ever in the age of 33-34 years, but according to Cya they'll be taking a massive fall from grace in just a year or so.
I know the fact that it's pretty unpredictable should make it more realistic. But some of these decline ages are simply just unrealistic.
And doesn't really take into account whether the rider is a puncheur, climber, cobble or sprinter...

Will there be an edition without sponsor changes, or is this easily fixable by myself? I haven't tried the ASO DB, but it seems they have a version where the sponsors and teams don't change. Would very much welcome that.
