PCM.daily's 2011 DB to be released ... soon

With the 2011 season underway, PCM.daily is getting ready to release its first version of the 2011 DB.

We don't have any final details to reveal right now, but we're aiming for a release of the Public Beta this upcoming weekend. The final version is expected to be out the following week (between the 11th and 13th of February).

We're still open for suggestions for teams. The team list is pretty much unchanged from the Preview Edition, although we did add Columbia es Pasion (thanks to their Pro-Cont license and European schedule), RealCyclist.com and Christina Racing (to replace Designa Køkken). Motorpoint has also been re-added. Obviously, we've also removed disbanding teams and re-named teams which have had title sponsor changes (e.g. DHL -> BGZ Bank).

So, if you've noticed any strong team that fits with the Western Europe, British or American focus that we have, and which is not already in the DB, feel free to suggest it in the comments. We may not make any further changes to the teams, but making a suggestion has never hurt anyone.

I thought about the Chipotle Development Team. They may not have a strong squad but have many young talents. If they´re not good enough for the DB, at least all riders should be free agents.

I have no clue if SpiderTech was in the preview edition, but if not they should be. I assume they would be anyway as they are Pro Conti this year.

And again these few teams if they are not in already, although I dont expect you to add any of them, just trying.
Movistar CT, *PureBlack Racing (New Zealanders), Wonderful Pistachios.

*I know I can read, but I thought they must be related to the All Blacks Rugby team, or atleast the same type of deal, which is cool isn't it?

Im just wondering but will we need the 2010 db files at all for the public beta or will all those files (that are needed for the public beta to work) be included in the public beta?
I'd like to know so I can start downloading them if I have to today.

#8: A full version including everything will be released - hopefully in a self-installer. We might release a 2010 -> 2011 Updater too.

Oke, this weekend wil the Public Beta version come. Will there be a patch to patch your Public Beta Version to the Final Version or do you have to download it again?

And my second question. Will there be a patch to patch your last Daily Expansion Pack 2010 to the 2011 version?

Before I forget, will there be an other way to download than torrents?

I would assume they make an updater from beta 2011 to full version 2011. They did that for the 2010 dbs.

And Crue posted a few up from here that he hopes to have a 2010 -> 2011 updater as well.

Torrents are a great way to get them actually. Torrents dont slow down when more and more people dl from them compared to having it up on say the site's server or megaupload where it would slow down from all the activity.
Plus torrents are free.

We'll be trying to get the file up at file hosts, but it will be a 'parted' file (depending on the size, but I guess it'll be c 10 files).

It will be much, much easier to download the torrent.

Ummm everybody needs asian teams. Without them the level of cool in cycling would only be half as large. Nippo and Tabriz are actually very popular teams, but they wouldn't really fit in the Daily db.

How do we know which teams are planned yet?

If D'Angello & Antenucci - Nippo or Spidertech are not yet planned, it would be very wisefull to do so

Same with Donckers Koffie from Belgium, with the American Chipotle Development Team (Garmin u23) and with Drapac from Australia.

And in Slovenia you have also teams like Sava, Perutnina and Adria Mobil who do almost the complete Italian and Eastern-European calendar with some good riders, one or more from these teams could be interesting
