Interview with Clément -- this is what PCM08 will be like!
NewsOnce again, it's PCM.daily with the latest news about Pro Cycling Manager! As it's almost become a tradition, PCM.daily have interviewed Clément Pinget about the upcoming Pro Cycling Manager 2008. This time, we did a live interview with him at MSN which was done over two days. During those two days we got through a whole lot of the game, including Pro Cycling Manager 08's new Track Cycling-mode, the changes to the road race gameplay, the AI, and much, much more.

So, are you ready to see what's coming up this summer? Go ahead and read the interview with Clément Pinget right here.

Update: I forgot to ask what platforms the game would be available on. I got the answer for that question today -- the game will be released on PC, PSP - and "probably another platform". Interesting, huh?

2nd Update: PCMBenelux will be doing a follow-up interview soon (tomorrow?), and we will of course make sure to post it here as soon as it's published.

3rd Update: ... if anyone was wondering if the Olympics will be in the game -- they won't.

Some very interesting points. for some reason CrueTrue didn't think they were worth mentioning when I asked him earlier.

Just goes to show we all regard very different things as important Smile
#3 | CrueTrue on 01. February 2008 08:23
When we talked, the entire interview wasn't done. Also, I'm not very good at remembering Pfft
#4 | rodda on 01. February 2008 14:26
why cant they just make a damn game with everything in it Pfft
#5 | issoisso on 02. February 2008 09:14
I'm not sure people realise the implications of the changes to the effort bar. If this is properly implemented, helpers will finally be as important as in real life!
#6 | Addy291 on 02. February 2008 09:21
If this is properly implemented

What are the chances of that though?
#7 | Levi4life on 02. February 2008 18:00

#11 | Waghlon on 02. February 2008 22:11

#12 | Waghlon on 02. February 2008 22:16
Say what Isso, tell me how to make it better and ill use my supa-kool mod powers to edit it and remove this conversation Pfft
#13 | issoisso on 02. February 2008 22:20
My response: see my avatar. just about sums it up.
#14 | Waghlon on 02. February 2008 22:23
Didnt help. Coincidently, i've heard that Cyanide's crew have all gotten flying class, no-one survived!
#15 | issoisso on 02. February 2008 22:25
Speaking of that, and to finally hijack this comments section beyond belief:

What do you have when you've got Alejandro Valverde buried neck-high in quicksand?

Sand that's not quick enough! *badum chiiing*

......

hey, where's everyone going??
#16 | Waghlon on 02. February 2008 22:27

Where can I find a spanish guy trying to speak english at this hour? c'mon, I need a laugh...
#18 | CrueTrue on 02. February 2008 22:42
Back on topic, guys Wink
#19 | Waghlon on 02. February 2008 22:46
What do you get if you cross a Cyanide designer with an elephant?

A somewhat smarter french

Demmit that a was bad one...
#20 | MarcoPRT on 02. February 2008 23:14
Smart and fat french...Rolling Eyes
#21 | rodda on 03. February 2008 08:06
they are game designers, probably already fat
#22 | Dankan on 03. February 2008 09:24
I still didn't get the point isso Pfft Even if I try to translate it as "¿Qué pasa si enterramos a Valverde boca abajo en arenas movedizas? ¡Que no son suficientemente rápidas!", it doesn't make any sense

Ok let's go back on topic.
#23 | issoisso on 03. February 2008 09:31
1. You can translate it into spanish all you want. I'm not spanish so it still won't make any sense Wink

2. The awful awful unfunny joke was around "quicksand" and "sand that's not quick enough"

C. The real joke was around the "Valverde bit" being awful. not funny at all

and 5. (or 4. for those keeping count), we should really really get back on topic.

Just come ride with US rodda (i mean in real life) and you'll see how fat we are (I hope you are well trained to follow...Pfft).

One of our Cyanide engineer (on cycling manager) was one of the 10 best young rider in France when he was 16... He often rode with guys like Vaugrenard and Mondory and beat them sometimes.
Then he had to made his studies and now he's a triathlete after some years without sports...and will try to made the famous Embrun ironman in 2008.
I'm also a cyclist (but i'm not so good as Mika, of course...) and I love to made climbs in the Alps with my 57 kgs...and raced 5 years when I was younger.

90% of our game designers are all sports praticant or ex-sport praticant B)
#25 | issoisso on 03. February 2008 20:05
Clemént Pinget has registered here? oh crap. now we can't post any cyanide-bashing. I guess that's the death of the forum then Wink
#26 | Crommy on 03. February 2008 20:51
It was the whole basis of the forum - we are doomedPfft
#27 | Waghlon on 03. February 2008 20:55
Aw crap, now i cant make fun of them anymore... Well tsk tsk...
#28 | Addy291 on 03. February 2008 21:20
Freire; rodda was just jokingWink basing his joke on game designers stereotypesWink
#29 | FreireCyanide on 03. February 2008 21:37
I know that he was joking, there was smiley, and I was not very aggressive Wink
Now guys are often criticize us very easily and it's not always pleasant, especially when it's mostly wrong and not justified.
So let's speak...the best thing for both players and us will be to make a nice 2008 version B)
#30 | Waghlon on 03. February 2008 21:49
Please just dont break PCM08, im still trying get over PCM07...

Failing PCM08, when can we expect Cyanide to dive deeper into the "Pro [sports that are sorta popular] Manager". I think someone owes us a Pro Handball Manager...
