Will someone be able to beat Sagan on such a route ? Silva is the Uruguayan favorite, so is J. Kelly for Barbados.
Differences are quickly made in the first difficulties, with numerous echelons. Fagundez (URU) is the only pro trapped so far. He bridges on his own.
Feeling that the peloton has trouble working to catch the break, Sagan, Silva and J. Kelly attack in the penultimate climb. 10 km left.
Sagan put a lot of fruitless efforts to make the catch, so it’s J. Kelly who storms through the break in the last kilometre to take the overall win and his NC.
Silva wins the Uruguayan competition.
Sagan will be disappointed to not take the great win, but he still gets back his NC title.
Benetton gets another one, with Sprenger for Liechtenstein.
And Sam wins for Guatemala.

Vanderpool should take the overall win, if the race isn’t too long for her legs. Sam can make the doublé today, while Bellan and Fagundez are also decent time-trialist.
Riding some time after Mundle, Sprenger keeps is NC title with a time of 1h09’10.
Fagundez does the same, in 1h07’27.
Bellan is 21’’ faster and wins the SVK NC.
It’s a great ride for Sam to make the doublé with the new best time : 1h06’42.
Vanderpool is one minute fastest and wins the overall.
